Bella and I were invited to another amazing event! The beautiful people at Garfunkel’s organised a full fun day out in London for a group of bloggers where we were taken to three of the most famous tourist attractions in London: Madame Tussauds, The Original Tour (the bus tour of London) and The London Eye.
1. GARFUNKEL’S KENSINGTON – BREAKFAST
For any of you that haven’t heard of Garfunkel’s Restaurants before, it was born in 1979. Garfunkel’s is one of London’s most iconic restaurant brands. Best known for its wide and varied menu, friendly service and great central London locations, they have become a legendary part of London life. That is why the hashtag #LondonLegend was born.
You’ll find a huge selection of food including their famous fish & chips, proper pies, pizzas, pastas, burgers and a DIY salad bar; all to enjoy before, during or after your adventures in London. Whether you’re eating Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner, there will be something on the menu for you at Garfunkel’s.
We started our fabulous fun day out at one of Garfunkel’s branches in Kensington. It was a fantastic breakfast where we had a great selection of options such as a Classic Breakfast, Veggie Breakfast, Eggs on Toast, Bacon & Egg Bap, Eggs Benedict or Scrambled Eggs & Smoked Salmon. All looked delicious. You can check their Breakfast Menu here. Bella ordered the classic and freshly made Pancakes that were yummy with a fresh orange juice and I ordered a Classic Eggs on a Toast with a well needed Latte!! We really needed this food to fuel our energies for the adventure ahead!
I have visited Madame Tussauds before but that was about 8 or 9 years ago! So now I was super excited to go again but this time with my daughter that was so looking forward to this!! Bless her, she was enjoying this attraction every single minute! She wanted to take photos with every single celebrity and I was like “Ok Bella but let’s try to be selective otherwise we will be here all day and we only have a few hours to go around”. Thankfully she understood but we did take lots and lots of photos, LOL!
The Party Room
The first room was all about high profile celebrities all dressed up very smartly for a ‘ball’ like Party! I took photos of Bella with most of them! We were hanging out with Julia Roberts, Nicole Kidman, Robert Pattinson, Tom Hanks, the Beckham’s, Kate Winslet, Helen Mirren and Colin Firth.
I also managed to get some photos myself with the help of other people and of course I took the typical selfies! LOL. We also hung out with Leonardo Di Caprio, Russell Brand, Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie, Emma Watson, George Clooney and of course a selfie with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West looking from the back!
The Film Room
Bella loved this room showing lots of characters from famous movies! She found Shrek again! This photo of Bella with Shrek is so cute!!! It is amazing the size!
The Music Room & YouTube
We then went towards another room and guess what? We found ONE DIRECTION!!! So Bella was like: ‘mummy, mummy, 1D, 1D, I want a photo please, I want a photo now!! LOL, she really made me laugh! I can’t believe she is just 5 but she is obsessed with them! So yes she got her photo!
Then we kept going and we found The Beatles!! Bella was saying: “Who are they? I don’t know them? Can we go and see the next one please?”. I was trying to explain to her that they are legends of Pop music and that they are soooo famous around the whole world and that the best of all is that they were British. Bella’s response was ‘ahhh like the 1D mummy?” So everything is around 1D!! It was so funny! Bless her!
We went around all the singers. Bella had photos with Miley Cirus, Lady Gaga, Madonna, Britney Spears, Cheryl Cole, Adel and Beyonce. Bella loved this area.
We were so excited to see Zoe & Alfie in this new YouTube area. Bella watches their videos a lot and loves them so she was so happy to have a photo with them!
The Sports Room
Bella had photos with Rafael Nadal, Lewis Hamilton, Thomas Daley, Olga Korbut and Pele.
The Royals
Of course we had to have a photo with Diana and the Royals!! 😉
Gift Shop
We passed through their gift shop which had lovely items but didn’t buy anything this time as we were late to the next stop of our #LondonLegend day.
3. GARFUNKEL’S TRAFALGAR SQUARE – LUNCH
We just managed to get into the next cab on time in order to get to the next Garfunkel’s Restaurants for lunch. We shared the cab with the lovely Charlotte from Bericebaby and her family. Her little boy Hayden and Bella were inseparable all day. They were so cute to watch. 🙂
Bella and I were starving! As soon as we all arrived we went straight to get the menu and ordered our food. Check their Lunch Menu here. Again we had a great selection of options such as 1/4 Rotisserie Chicken, The Classic Burger, Margherita Pizza, Spaghetti Bolognese, Toasties and a Salad Bar Plate. All sounded really nice. Bella ordered a burger with chips and I ordered a Ham & Cheese Toastie. We both had this with fresh lemonade. This was perfect as we were then ready for the next part of our London adventure!
This multi-award winning company, was the first and is today the largest single sightseeing operation in the world. The history of the company can be traced back to the early 1900s, and London Transport hop-on hop-off bus tour of London allows customers to board at over 80 different stops, across three sightseeing routes. Buses run daily, with live commentary in English and a wide choice of digitally recorded languages. A Thames river cruise pass and three walking tours are included free with every ticket and the Kid’s Club provides an educational and fun alternative for 5-12 year olds. In September 2014 The Original Tour was acquired by French transport group RATP Dev which also owns sightseeing operations in New York, Paris, Bath, Windsor & Cardiff.
Tickets cost £30.00 per adult and £15 per child (5-15 years). Under 5s travel free of charge. The service operates from 08:30 to 17:00 every 15-20 minutes in winter, with more frequent and later departures in summer.
We got in the bus and the kids sat down at the front and Charlotte and I decided to have a relaxed moment sitting at the back of the bus!! That was actually really nice!! We are also here with Angela from Project Wanderlust all having a great time!
The Original Tour has 3 main sightseeing routes: Yellow Route, Red Route and Blue Route. You can find out more about these routes here. We did the Yellow Route which took us to London’s main attractions including the Tower of London, St Paul’s Cathedral, London Eye, etc and offers entertaining live-guided commentary in English.
The Original Tour are repeating their popular promotion this year – giving customers TWO days for the price of ONE, with tickets extended to 48 hours validity when travelling between 4 October 2015 until 29 February 2016. This great offer also includes a FREE River Cruise Upgrade to Greenwich! So go and take advantage of this great new offer!! 🙂
At the end of the Tour all the kids received a great Fun Pack which was part of their Kids Club plan.
We then headed off to The London Eye. It was a perfect time as the sun was just about to set so we were all looking forward to taking some great photos!!
The kids were all wearing Tshirts with the #LondonLegend hashtag and we asked them to pose together for a nice photo inside the London Eye. We had Elfa’s daughter from Californian Mum, Emma’s son Oli from Me The Man and The Kids and Charlotte’s son Hayden from Bericebaby. They were all so cute!!
Then we all walked to our next destination and these were still rocking the street of London! They were holding hands all the time!! It was so cute to watch!! 🙂
6. GARFUNKEL’S THE STRAND – DINNER
Finally for our last destination we went to another Garfunkel’s Restaurant. This one was at The Strand so very near to Tube and Train stations ahead of the journey home. They were waiting for us with a glass of champagne! Perfect!!
Bella and I were really hungry again! As soon as we all arrived we went straight to get the menu and ordered our food. Check their Dinner Menu here. Again we had a great selection of options such as Fish & Chips, Ham & Chips, BBQ Chicken Melt, Bacon & Cheese Burger, Veggie Burger, Hawaiian Pizza, Grilled Herby Chicken, Chicken & Bacon Carbonara, Mediterranean Vegetable & Blue Cheese Spaghetti. Bella and I actually ordered something different. We both had jacket potatoes with beans and salad. It was perfect to gain some more energy to head back home!
Goody Bag
We had a fantastic day! Before heading back home they gave us this great goody bag! Thank you so much Garfunkel’s for organising this amazing event!

I’ve not been to Madam Tussauds in years, actually since I was a child. It looks like it has some great new trendy models. Do they still have the Dungeons in there? They were properly scary. Looks like a full on day with meals an the London Eye. #KCACOLS

What a fab day! I used go love Garfunkels when I first moved to London, now it’s been 6 years since I moved away, you’ve brought back lots of memories. In fact your whole day has! It looks like Madame Tussauds has changed a bit too. You’re so lucky to have been invited, and this is a fab review #KCACOLS
Martin - At Home With The Boys says
Well, I have to say, you all looked like you all had a fantastic day out in London.
On our last trip to London, we went to both, the natural history museum and the science museum. Madam Tussauds is somewhere I’ve always fancied but never actually seen photos of inside so never knew what to expect. However, I’m now convinced the boys will enjoy it, especially the film room.
As for the pose with Diana, I have my own to cherish from when I met her in 1991, for real!
Thanks for hosting #KCACOLS

It looks like you had a fabulous day and we’re well fed. I’ve never been to Madame Tussauds but spotting the Tinkerbell photo here makes me think it would be a great day out with my daughter. I love the London bus tour I took my husband that first weekend after he moved to the UK from Ecuador, even though it was February and freezing! #KCACOL.

Oh my goodness, I am so jealous! It looks like you had an amazing day. I used to live inLondon and love it but the only thing I’ve done from your day, is go on the London eye. I always joked that I’d get on one of the tour buses one day. I’d love to go to Madame Tussuads and the diy salad bar at Garfinkels caught my eye. If they do this again, pick me Garfunkels!!
Caro | The Twinkles Mama says
Aaah lucky you Franca! What a fabulous, amazing day! Looks like you and Bella were thoroughly spoilt! I had to look twice at some of the wax-works — who is the woman in the black dress??!! Is that one Emma Watson? Or Emma Watson’s ugly sister?! LOL! x Thanks for linking up with us at #TwinklyTuesday
