Bella has been asking to go ice skating a lot lately, so it was great timing when Queens approached us to go to their venue and review their skating experience. Have you visited recently? We have visited twice in the past, Once for a birthday party for one of Bella’s friends and she had so much fun. Then last year, Nick took the girls and my niece there too so we were familiar with Queens already but we haven’t done a family skating day so I was up for it too this time.
Queens is located in Queensway, London – right next to Queensway tube station, so not far from us. Queens not only has an ice rink but also bowling lanes, an arcade and a restaurant! So everything you need to have fun in one place! Queens have been hosting families of all ages for 85 years now, so they really know how to accommodate everyone for a great family day out.
Prices for skating are:
- £12 for over 12-year-olds
- £11 for under 12-year-olds
- £2.50 skate hire
- £49 for a family of 2 adults and 2 children to use the rink all day
There is also a Monday Madness offer too: Half Price skating is available all day for all ages. It is worth noting before making plans to visit that QUEENS is an adult only zone after 8pm every evening.

Quirky Decoration
We got our wristbands and went straight to the ice rink. I was actually very surprised that I was able to go around without falling. It was so much fun! Bella was very good at it because she has been in other locations before so she has practised more but unfortunately for little Sienna was a different story. She struggled a lot bless her!
She is so stubborn and wanted to do it without help so she didn’t want a penguin (skating aid for young children). We did the first lap together and she was literally falling every 5 minutes, Lol! We even managed to film that as it was so funny (check my IG Highlight stories about Queens here)
After falling so many times she then decided that she wanted to try the penguin. She was better with it but she still needed us for help. The good news though is that she loved it despite falling so much! After the first hour, she got very tired so we decided to stop for a break.
Private Bowling Area
With the wristbands, we were able to get on and off the ice as much as we wanted all day until 6 pm, which is great as there is no time limit or worries that you are losing time on the ice by taking a short break! I thought this was awesome.
Rink Bar
We stopped for food to refuel before getting back on the ice. We ate lunch at MEATliquor, then I decided to watch Nick and the girls from a very comfortable area that had windows and a bar. Sienna got better and at the end, she wasn’t falling at all!
Our Thoughts About Queens
We spent in total about 5 hours there. It was honestly one of the best family days out we have had in a long time! We all really enjoyed it and the best part was that it tired the girls out too! So this meant an early bedtime for them and an earlier evening for us! Hurrah! We can highly recommend this place for a lovely family day out.
Have you been ice skating with your family?
*Disclosure: We were invited to go to Queens for a family day out experience there in exchange for an Instagram Post and hosting a Giveaway there but because we liked it very much, we also decided to do a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Thanks for stopping by,
Love you all ❤️

Looks really good. Reminded me of when Bella used to use a penguin when she first went skating. Lovely day out for you.

Yes it is the same type of penguin. She doesn’t need any now. She is very good at it! Sienna still needs to learn but she is improving too. We had a lovely time. We really like this place and it is so close to us 🙂 xx

I have been to Queens once or twice before some years ago but somehow had forgotten about it. Although the all day price initially seems expensive, with no restrictions on getting on and off the ice all day, it actually works out to be a very good price.
Ice skating is more than just fun and exercise: it teaches children courage and resilience.

That looks like such a great way to spend family time together. We’d definitely love to do this as a family as soon as our youngest has a chance of balancing on the skates! #KCACOLS

What a fun family activity! I’ve never tried ice-skating but did a lot of roller-skating when I was a kid.

I have only ever been ice skating once with school I am embarrassed to say that when I fell, I grabbed the nearest thing and pulled down a man’s trousers, I don’t know which one of us had the reddest face#kcacols@_karendennis

That looks like such a fun day out. I used to go ice skating a lot as a kid and absolutely loved it – looking forward to trying it again when my son is old enough. #KCACOLS

Do they do penguins for adults? Because I would need one! Looks a great day. #KCACOLS

Looks like a great place. I used to love Ice skating when I was a kid. I love Sienna’s pose in the entrance photo. #KCACOLS

This looks like a wonderful time to be had for the entire family. I like how this place has bowling, skating, and dining all in one place. I also think it’s neat that after 8 PM it’s a place for adults. After all, adults love doing these kinds of things too.
I wish we had a place like this close to us.

I haven’t been skating in over 18 years. After reading this post I really want to go. Yay for Sienna keeping at it and improving. #KCACOLS

It looks absolutely brilliant … the decor alone is amazing. I tried ice skating once with the kids and was sore for weeks from falling! Our daughter, well used to rollerskating had a blast, and has done it a load of times since. But me? Never again! #KCACOLS

I hate ice-skating (mainly because I’m so bad at it!) but my daughter loves it! That looks like a great place to go skating, especially as there’s other things going on as well. #KCACOLS

I actually haven’t taken my daughter ice-skating yet. To be honest she is a hesitant, nervous type of little girl so I sort of know that she isn’t ready yet. I would love to take her this Christmas though, at that stage she will be five and a half so who knows? That looks like great fun and such a nice way to spend a day with your kids! #KCACOLS

I used to ice-skate quite regularly as a child, as I grew up in Sweden (near Stockholm, so plenty of cold winters and opportunities for winter sports). But we’ve never got around to going ice-skating as a family! I think we’d enjoy it though! xx #KCACOLS

This sounds like a fun day out! We took Emma ice skating not long ago and she really loved it, even daring to skate on her own without the support. It’s a great family activity! #kcacols

This sounds like great fun. We promised our four year old that she could finally go ice skating this winter. She’s been wanting to ice skate since she was tiny but I’ve always been too nervous to take her. We’re going to need a couple of penguins I think! #kcacols

Wow. That looks really fun. Pretty reasonably priced too considering how much time you ended up spending there and it got the whole family involved. Thanks for letting me cohost #KCACOLS with you again.

I cannot skate. I have no balance whatsoever. I am jealous of those who do though. My wife loves skating. #kcacols
