I was wondering how a lockdown birthday will be this year for me and so far, it has been great! Last night, I had a lovely Zoom party with my school friends from Peru and one from Mexico. We met at 11:30 pm and waited until midnight to sing happy birthday! 🥳It was awesome! 🙌🏻⁣

I haven’t done something like this before, just a video call with one person but not with more people in it. Now you can gather a lot of people around the world in one place to celebrate! It is amazing! 👍🏻⁣

I would say, this is the most positive outcome of COVID19. I guess people needed a way to communicate and learnt how to do it quickly. So I am so grateful for Zoom! This is definitely something that I will keep post covid19. And you? ⁣

If you are based in England and have a child at Reception, Year 1 or Year 6 you will need to decide if you will send them back to school on Monday 1st June.⁣

This has been in my mind since the government announced the new guidelines a week ago. My youngest is in Y1 so this applies to her. I have so many mixed feelings about this decision. On one hand I am so exhausted after having overseen 2 different school timetables. There is a lot of work coming from their school so every day we finish way after the normal school hours. My eldest needs a lot of attention and I find it hard to divide myself. So having my youngest at school will allow me to help my eldest more. ⁣
⁣
However, I am not feeling things are ready for this moment yet. I’m not sure it is safe yet and kids at that age will not understand social distancing. The drop off and pick up times concern me. Will the kids wear masks? I don’t think my youngest will keep a mask on for more than 5 minutes. I also know my girls feel strange about being separated like that. One going to school but the other one stays at home with mummy and daddy. Doesn’t feel right, does it? ⁣

I honestly don’t know what is best to do. I feel it is a little bit too soon considering the UK has the biggest death figures in Europe. Not having a good testing system concerns me too. I am worried things will get worse and we end up with a second wave but at the same time, I feel we need a break. ⁣

I think we will only know what to do nearer the time. At the moment I am not sure what is best. ⁣

What a week! I am so tired! The girls started school on Wednesday after 3 weeks of holidays. We mentaly prepared for it. We had all the materials and equipment ready for our first day. I printed their online table for the term as well as for this week. Had their Zoom meetings details ready to join. We couldn’t be more prepared! ⁣
⁣
But even with all of that preparation, I struggled a lot! it wasn’t easy. I found it hard to oversee 2 different time tables! As soon as I was helping one, the other needed my help. ⁣
⁣
Yesterday was even harder. I felt so frustrated. I was prepared again but it was still a fail. I was up from 7 am until 6 pm dealing with their school work! I was exhausted!⁣
⁣
Today, I woke up hoping for things to be better and thankfully, we did have a better day! The girls were calmer, they got more used to our new schedule and they were more happy to be involved. I can finally see a light at the end of the tunnel, phew! ⁣

I am so relieved to see that we can slowly get used to this new routine, but I am not going to lie, I am so happy that today is Friday and that the weekend is finally here! 😃⁣

This was our last week of the Easter holidays. Yes we had 3 weeks of holidays! I normally moan about it a lot by the end of the last week 😂but this time I have enjoyed having a longer period of holidays. ⁣

I am not going to lie, I am not looking forward to homeschooling again next week! 🙈This is definitely a hard job for me. I am rubbish at it! I need to do my own research before I help the girls because I don’t remember anything lol. It is so time consuming isn’t it!⁣

No idea how it will be next week but of course we will do our best to do as much as we can. However, I won’t worry anymore about my girls being behind at school. We can only try right? Hopefully when all of this is over they will be able to catch up at school.⁣

One of the things that I have loved about these past weeks is to see my girls so close. They used to play a lot before but now they are literally inseparable. Although they do still fight a lot, they are growing their bond so much. It is so lovely to see. They are constantly laughing and inventing new games. Love them so much! ❤️⁣

Also, thank goodness for the sunny weather! This has been so lovely right? We adventured for the first time this week with a couple of short walks. We really needed the fresh air after so long indoors. I saw so many lovely flowers blossoming. It was lovely! ⁣
