A week ago, I went to @duckandwaffle with my niece as we wanted to go to a cool place with a nice view of London. This place was recommended to us so we booked a table and went for brunch. ⁣
⁣
The day was a little bit cloudy so the views were not as clear as I was hoping to but despite that, the whole experience was mesmerising. You can come to this place at any time because it is open 24 hrs. So imagine those sunsets or sunrises there! I will definitely try to do an early start another day.⁣

Duck & Waffle is located at the 40th floor of the Heron Tower in Bishopsgate in the City of London. We had the view of The Gherkin which made it even more special. ⁣
⁣
We ordered a Rosemary & Garlic Bread which was really good! We both loved it. Then my niece had The Woodland Mushroom Risotto which she said was really tasty and I had the famous Duck & Waffle (crispy leg confit, fried duck egg, mustard maple syrup). This was AMAZING! OMG I really recommend it to you. If you like sweat and sour meals, this is definitely for you. Swipe left to see more photos and a video of this dish. This was for sure a FANTASTIC experience! We both really enjoyed it and I would really want to come back next time with Nick. ⁣

Finally half term is here! After so much illness in my house this is exactly what we need: a well-deserved break!⁣
⁣
My niece is coming back from Switzerland 🇨🇭 tomorrow night so we are looking forward to spending some quality time with her. ⁣
⁣
We have a wrestling event on Monday that should be fun and then we are thinking to spend one day in Cambridge. She hasn’t been there yet so it will be nice to explore it again with her. The other days we will be probably exploring more London and have fun together. I just hope the weather is kind to us. ⁣

Last week I went to watch for the first time @Wickeduk at @theapollovictoria. This is a show that I have been wanting to watch for a long time so I was so grateful to received press tickets. ⁣

I thought it was interesting to see a show about the good side of the Wicked Witch of the West. We all know from The Wizard of Oz that she is very evil but things are very different in this show. What if the Wicked Witch of the West from The Wizard of Oz wasn't so wicked after all 🤷‍♀️⁣

WICKED is based on the novel ‘Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West’ by Gregory Maguire. WICKED imagines a beguiling backstory and future possibilities to the lives of The Wizard of Oz characters and reveals the decisions and events that shape the destinies of two unlikely University friends on their journey to becoming Glinda The Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.⁣

I was so impressed by the performances of the main characters played by Laura Picks as Elphaba and Helen Woolf as Glinda. They were both FABULOUS. Their voices are extraordinary. This show is already in its 14th year and it is the 9th longest-running West End musical of all time! It has now been seen by an incredible 10 million people in London alone. Amazing right!⁣

I wish I am sitting down here right now having a delicious afternoon tea in a gorgeous cafe in London but instead I am in bed feeling sorry for myself! 😩⁣

I woke up yesterday feeling rough and unwell but I pushed it and went out to do the school run and even had a coffee with a couple of mums. I then came back home and started feeling awful by the hour. I was sneezing a lot all morning and my nose was so itchy. I also had a strange skin reaction in my neck and eyelids. I wasn’t sure if it was eczema but felt different so I took antihistamine just in case. ⁣

I didn’t feel better, so I decided to check my temp and it was just 37.4C so I thought to myself I should be okay if I layed down for a little bit but after 1hr I was shivering and feeling super cold. So I took the temp again and I was 38C 🤒⁣

I then had to do the school run again this afternoon and I was panicking because I couldn’t move. Nick of course was at work in Central London so he couldn’t arrive on time to help me, so I called a friend and sorted it out for us. Phew! 𝕎𝕙𝕒𝕥 𝕔𝕠𝕦𝕝𝕕 𝕨𝕖 𝕕𝕠 𝕨𝕚𝕥𝕙𝕠𝕦𝕥 𝕗𝕣𝕚𝕖𝕟𝕕𝕤?

Look at this yummy food! 😋 This is what I had last time I visited @elan_cafe and I loved it! This cafe is so gorgeous and the food is not just pretty, it is also so delicious.⁣

I ordered 💕𝙎𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙖𝙣 𝘾𝙝𝙞𝙘𝙠𝙚𝙣 𝙎𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙬𝙞𝙘𝙝 (Marinated Sicilian chicken breast, basil pesto, sundried tomatoes, rocket, mozzarella, toasted omega seeds served in bespoke pink sourdough bread with honey & mustard dressed salad), 🍓𝙎𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙬𝙗𝙚𝙧𝙧𝙮 𝙎𝙥𝙤𝙣𝙜𝙚 𝘾𝙖𝙠𝙚 (Vanilla sponge, strawberry compote, meringue butter cream frosting) and ❤️𝙍𝙚𝙙 𝙍𝙤𝙤𝙞𝙗𝙤𝙨 𝙇𝙖𝙩𝙩𝙚 (Red espresso, rooibos sweet & condensed milk). ⁣

I have been dealing with my taxes this week! 😩 Why do I always leave things to the last minute? 🙈Every year I say to myself that I will be more organised and have this done on time but NO, I don’t listen to myself and end up panicking at the last minute dealing with this! 🤦🏼‍♀️ I hope I can have this done before Friday.
