5 Of The Best Places to See Spring Blooms in 2023

1. Keukenhof Gardens, Lisse, Netherlands

Colorful blossing tulips in Keukenhof park in Holland

The first of my best places to see Spring blooms is Keukenhof Gardens in Lisse, Netherlands, which is renowned for its vast array of tulips that blanket the landscape in magnificent paters of colours. Known as the “Garden of Europe,” Keukenhof Gardens boasts over seven million tulips, daffodils, and hyacinths each year. These gardens are the largest flower gardens in the world and are truly a sight to watch.

When is the best time to visit Keukenhof Gardens?

From late March to mid-May, visitors can wander through the vibrant gardens, admire the colourful displays, attend flower shows, and even take a boat tour to see the surrounding bulb fields. The gardens are only open for two months each year, from mid-March to mid-May, so make sure to plan your trip accordingly.

2. National Cherry Blossom Festival, Washington D.C., USA

Every spring, the National Cherry Blossom Festival draws crowds to the nation’s capital to witness the stunning display of pink and white blossoms that adorn the city’s Tidal Basin. It is an annual event held in Washington DC to commemorate the gift of 3,000 cherry trees from the Mayor of Tokyo to the city of Washington DC in 1912.

What are the dates for the National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington D.C.?

The festival usually takes place from late March to early April when the cherry trees are in full bloom, creating a stunning display of pink and white blossoms around the Tidal Basin. This festival offers a wide range of events, from parades, fireworks, traditional Japanese music and dance performances as well as the famous Blossom Kite Festival.

3. Cherry Blossom Festival, Kyoto, Japan

Cherry blossoms, or sakura, are an iconic symbol of spring in Japan, and Kyoto is one of the best places to see them in all their glory. In addition to the famous cherry blossoms, visitors can also enjoy the blooming of azaleas and wisterias, as well as traditional Japanese gardens and temples.

What is the Cherry Blossom Festival in Japan?

The Cherry Blossom Festival takes place annually in late March or early April, depending on when the trees are expected to bloom. Some of the best places to see the cherry blossoms include Tokyo’s Shinjuku Gyoen and Kyoto’s Maruyama Park.

4. Claude Monet Home and Garden, Giverny, France

Claude Monet Home and Garden, Giverny, France

If you’re a fan of Impressionist art, you won’t want to miss a visit to Giverny, the home and garden of the famous artist Claude Monet. Located in the Normandy region of France, this garden was the inspiration for many of Monet’s most famous paintings, including his Water Lilies series.

This beautiful estate now serves as a museum, allowing visitors to step back in time and experience Monet’s artistic vision firsthand. The garden is at its peak in the spring when the flowers are in full bloom, and you can even see the iconic Japanese bridge that features in so many of Monet’s paintings. A visit to Monet’s home and garden are a must-see destination for art lovers and nature enthusiasts.

How do I get to Giverny, France from Paris?

There are a few ways to get to Giverny from Paris, including taking a train to Vernon and then a bus or taxi to Giverny, joining a guided tour that includes transportation, or renting a car and driving. The train is the most popular and convenient option, taking around 45-50 minutes to reach Vernon.

5. Butchart Gardens, Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada

What is the history of Butchart Gardens in Canada?

Butchart Gardens is one of the most beautiful gardens in North America and definitely one of the best places to see Spring blooms. The gardens were originally created by Jennie Butchart in the early 20th century as a way to beautify an old quarry, and today they feature over 900 varieties of plants in a variety of themed gardens.

Spring is a particularly stunning time to visit, with tulips, daffodils, and hyacinths in full bloom.

Conclusion

In conclusion, spring is the perfect time to get out and travel around exploring the beauty of nature. Whether you’re looking for vibrant tulips, fragrant cherry blossoms, or picturesque gardens, these five destinations are sure to delight your senses and leave you with unforgettable memories.

No matter where you choose to go, spring is the perfect time to get out and explore the world’s natural beauty. So start planning your trip now and experience the blooming beauty of spring for yourself!
