6 Things We’d Love To Do In Orlando, Florida

amomentwithfranca · 10 August 2017 · 8 Comments

Florida and Orlando, in particular, is a popular holiday destination for families with small children and is often on people’s list of places to visit before their kids grow a bit too old to enjoy the magic! Located in Central Florida, the Orlando metropolitan area has a population of over 2 million people. We can definitely include ourselves as people with Orlando, Florida on our travel list, so in this post, I have put together a list of 6 things we would love to do if we were to visit.

Nicknamed, ‘The City Beautiful”, Orlando is known as the ‘Theme Park Capital of the World’ with its tourist attractions and events drawings millions of visitors every year. So here are 6 places from the attractions that Orlando has to offer that we would love to visit…

1. Disney’s Magic Kingdom

Disney’s Magic Kingdom was the first of the theme parks to open at Walt Disney World Resort, so it was this place that started it all, so we couldn’t go to Orlando without visiting. With classic, exciting attractions, The Magic Kingdom captures the enchantment of fairy tales and beloved Disney Characters and so much more. I’m sure our girls would love to see the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade, which celebrates the spirit of Disney as the Magic Kingdom park comes alive with music and dance during a tribute to the tales of Fantasyland. Finally, we’d love to also take in the evening fireworks show at Cinderella Castle.

2. Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Also part of The Walt Disney World Resort, Disney’s Hollywood Studios offers live shows, thrilling attractions, backstage tours and star-studded special events. The idea is for you to feel like a star by stepping into the action with exhilarating attractions and experiences inspired by television and silver screen favourites, where movie magic comes to life!

3. Universal Islands of Adventure

Universal’s Islands of Adventure is all about exploration, where guests visit themed islands. There are currently eight islands in total which are, Port of Entry, Marvel Super Hero Island, Toon Lagoon, Skull Island, Jurassic Park, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, The Lost Continent, and Seuss Landing.

This place sounds really exciting and embodies the idea of losing yourself in an adventure, which is exactly what you want when visiting a theme park. Universal Islands of Adventure is said to include some of the most innovative rides and attractions ever, so I’m sure this is a place we wouldn’t want to miss out on visiting.

4. Universal Studios Florida

Universal Studios Florida is a real working film and television studio which allows visitors to get right into the action of their favourite movies and TV shows ‘on-set’ of a variety of fully dressed backlot locations.

There were almost 10,000,000 visitors last year making it the 6th most visited theme park in the US and the 9th most visited in worldwide! As such this looks like another must for our list.

5. Volcano Bay Water Park

Owned and operated by Universal Parks and Resorts, Volcano Bay is a brand new water theme park at Universal Orlando Resort. Opened in May 2017, the Volcano Bay water park replaces Wet ‘n Wild as Universal Orlando Resort’s water park. The park is themed around a volcano called “Krakatau”.

The girls love water and I’m sure they would be mesmerised by the rides and features at this amazing water park. It looks like a lot of fun.

6. Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Disney’s Animal Kingdom is a zoological theme park dedicated and themed entirely around the natural environment and animal conservation.

Accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums, means that Disney’s Animal Kingdom has met or exceeds the standards in education, conservation, and research.

So that’s our 6 things to do in Orlando, Florida. Of course, there are many more things to see and do, such as Disney’s water parks and the Epcot complex. Also, if you’re willing to venture a little bit further out you should definitely consider visiting the Kennedy Space Center and taking an airboat on the Everglades. We would definitely love to take in these iconic Florida locations. If you’re planning or thinking of visiting you can check out some Orlando, Florida travel offers online.

Have you visited Orlando, Florida? What parks and attractions did you visit? What do you think of our list? Can you recommend anything we should do? Please let me know in the comments below.

Love you all ❤️

✨ Cat Cafe In London✨.📍Bella and I went t ✨ Cat Cafe In London✨.📍Bella and I went to @javawhiskersuk , a cat cafe located in @westfieldlondon . This was my present for Mother’s Day from her🌸.🌟 Before we went inside, we had to go to a separate room to wash our hands and remove our shoes..🐾 They have 2 different rooms: the Cat Lounge and the Kitten Lounge and you can choose to stay from 55 mins to 1hr 55 mins. The prices vary depending on the room you choose and the length of time..🍰 When we stepped inside the room we were greeted by a group of gorgeous kittens. We ordered (before we went inside the room) a latte and a delicious chocolate muffin with chocolate melted inside that was so good. This was served to us in the room while we were surrounded by these adorable kittens..🐱 We spent 55 mins playing and petting the kittens. They were so cute. We loved interacting with them..🥰 Their cafe is also a foster home for homeless cats so if you are looking to adopt one, this is the place to visit! They have had 230 successful adoptions already! 🙌🏻.🚨 The only downside is that you have to be over 10 years old in order to be allowed inside the rooms 😬.🐈 If you are a cat lover like us, I highly recommend you visit Java Whiskers! It is the perfect place to unwind and relax with these beautiful kittens! 🙌🏻.Have you visited a Cat Cafe before? 🐈‍⬛ .#javawhiskers #catcafe #catcafelondon #londoncafe #westfieldlondon #londondayout #daysout #thingstodoinlondon #newplaces #londonguide #lovecats😻 #catsofinstagram #catloversday #londonthingstodo #whatsonlondon

I will talk more about this experience on another post but if you swipe left you can see a little peak of our time there! 🐈😉.Today, the girls and Nick took me for the actually Mother’s Day celebration 🎉 to @cafejackss in Queen’s Park where we had brunch. It was a yummy treat. Swipe left to check it out! 😋 .After that we went for a walk. There was a small market nearby so it was nice to have a little look around 😍. ✨My Girls✨.Due to the strikes we had Sienna ✨My Girls✨.Due to the strikes we had Sienna at home yesterday and today, and Bella only today. I thought it would be very chaotic but despite it always being louder when the girls are at home, especially my youngest one, lol, we did well..Bella did school work at home today and had the afternoon free. Sienna didn’t do school work. We only asked her to carry on doing Spanish and Maths via Duolingo. She also had Spanish lessons this afternoon (every Thursday she has lessons) so both days were manageable thankfully 😍.How was it for you? Did your kids stay at home or did they go to school? .PS: let’s hope things get better for teachers. I fully support the strikes. .#sistertime #sisterlylove #sistersgoals #hermanas #sistersforever #sistersforlife #sisterslove #siblingslove #lovemydaughters #raisingdaughters #mydaughters #londonkids #WembleyPark #wembley #londondesigneroutlet
✨Happy Weekend✨.How is your weekend going so ✨Happy Weekend✨.How is your weekend going so far? I am finally feeling more normal after the massive jetlag I had after my trip to South America. I am not sure why it hit me so much this time but it has taken me about two solid weeks to properly be back to my routine without feeling right. Waking up in the mornings was the worst. It was very hard, especially when I had to be on time for the school run! 😩.Anyway, everything feels better now! 😊.How long does it take you to be back to normal after a jetlag? Do you have any tricks or tips to speed this process? .📸 Selfy taken in Barranco, a lively district in Peru considered to be one of the most romantic and bohemian places to visit and being the home and working place of many Peruvian artists, musicians, designers, photographers among others 😎.#thisisme #selfie #instaselfie #smilemore #brunettehair #greeneyes #over40#over40blogger #overforty #overfortystyle #over40andfabulous #over40mom #outandabout #barrancolima
