A Letter To My Husband: 7 Years Together

amomentwithfranca · 2 November 2015 · 56 Comments

This is a letter that I wrote to my husband back in May when we were celebrating 7 years together. I know it is not a lot but for me feels like 20 years!! We have been stack to each other since we met and it has been the most beautiful years I have ever had! I hope you enjoy this letter! 🙂

Letter to Nick FI

Babes,

Today is our anniversary. It has been 7 years since my life has changed completely for the best because I married you. You have given me happiness everyday during all these years and especially a lot of love! You are not only the love of my life but also my BEST FRIEND.  You are not just a great husband but also an amazing father. I feel so incredibly lucky!!

Who would’ve thought that we were going to be a good match! Thinking back about the day that we first met in 2006, it was really funny. It was my first week at work and I was asked to help the IT Director (you) to organise and clear out the Server Room as it was all a mess! Yes this is something that you have never been good at: tidying up! LOL. I never thought that it was going to be so much work! I was actually thinking to myself: who is this guy so disorganised? Things sometimes happen for a reason. After all, that first week helping you with that task, the best thing of all was that I got to know you a lot. You were so funny, in fact you were hilarious. You made me laugh a lot. Your jokes were sarcastic and with good humour. You were very nervous at the beginning. In fact you were that nervous that you dropped a huge box full of styrofoam next to me trying to approach me. You turned immediately red but as usual you made a joke and it became such a funny and unforgettable moment.

I never thought that I would enjoy your company so much. I loved spending time with you. We were actually very good together. We were a good team. The more we spent time together the better friends we became. It is interesting but we were both on the same page having recently split up with previous partners knowing that we wanted to just have fun. We didn’t see each other as something more than friends. You were always there every time that we went out with our work friends. When I had too much to drink I always knew you were going to be there to hold my hand and help me. I knew that I will be back home safe if you were around.

I didn’t realise that this friendship was that strong until one day I was in trouble and I ended up not having somewhere to live. This was an important time for our story because you offered me a place to stay while I was looking for another place to live. I was incredibly grateful for that. Since I moved to your place things starting to change. After a month of living together we decided that we were good roommates and we thought: why not looking for a place to live as roommates. We were looking for a place with 2 rooms to share. We found the perfect place in a lovely area. It passed about a month and a half since we were very closed friends. When we got the keys for the new flat we stayed there in an empty room having a drink, laying down on the floor and feeling incredibly happy. We looked into each others eyes and had the most beautiful and romantic kiss. And that is it! Since that moment I knew, we knew that we were meant to be together. So we moved to the new flat but instead to sleep in each others rooms we slept together in one room, so we gained a spare room! 😉 Since that moment we have never been apart. We got engaged after 6 months and we got married in one year and half in May 2008. We had our first daughter in May 2010 and our second daughter last year in August 2014. Our lives have been a rollercoaster full of ups and downs but especially full of love, understanding, listening and caring for each other. We started our relationship as Best Friends and this way has always been the key to our relationship. This made it even more stronger year by year.

They say that over 80% of people meet their other half at work. I know we did. We have just celebrated our 13th Wedding anniversary yet neither of us has ever written a letter to each other. Maybe next year…

What a beautiful post and such a lovely story of how you got together. All of the best relationships start from friendships – I can’t believe you were friends for so long! I definitely believe that some things happen for a reason and you not having a place to live changed your whole life for the better. You look amazing in your wedding pictures, I love your red roses! You have a beautiful family, so pleased everything worked out so beautifully for you xxx #KCACOLS
