The first time I heard about Aveeno was when Sienna was just a few months old. She had really irritated skin and I didn’t know what to do. I had tried everything I could possibly think off but nothing worked. Searching online for answers, I came across some a forum thread where parents who had kids with the same issue recommended using Aveeno to help the skin to hydrate. I bought a pot and tried it for a few weeks. After applying the cream for a week Sienna’s skin was perfect. I literally saw the improvement in front of my eyes, so from my own experience I can assure you that this brand is really good.
Aveeno have now launched their new Baby range so I was happy to be asked to review it. I was initially hesitant as Sienna is now older and certainly not a baby anymore. They assured me that their Baby range would still be perfect for her so I was really looking forward to testing it. They were also very kind to give us another Aveeno Baby Range set as a GIVEAWAY for one of my lucky readers! How fantastic is that? You can read more about the giveaway at the bottom of this post.
Their range, at the moment, consists of 3 products: soothing relief emollient wash, soothing relief emollient cream and daily care barrier cream. See below:
Aveeno Soothing Relief Emollient Wash – £8.50
My girls love bathing together, so bathtime always has to be done with special creams as Bella suffers from eczema. So it was great to be able to test this creamy wash with her too. I was sure that it was going to be good for her sensitive skin.
I have been trying this wash for weeks and can assure you that it is perfect for sensitive skin. Bella has had no problem at all and her eczema seems better.
You can use it as a bubble bath too. My girls love bubbles but we can’t really use normal bubble bath because of Bella skin. Although the bubbles didn’t last long it was great to be able to have a really subtle bubble bath with the Aveeno emollient wash.
I like that it is tear free and soap free. It is specially formulated with natural colloidal oatmeal and emollients blended into a creamy wash, which gently cleanses, soothes and helps comfort dry skin prone to irritation. It is proven to help relieve dry skin. It is also unscented and paediatrician tested.
The cream is thick so you don’t need to use much. It is better to dissolve it in the water for them to wash in it. My girls also love having a little bit on their hands to rub around their body. Their skin feels smoother after using it.
Aveeno Soothing Relief Emollient Cream – £8.50
Sienna had some spots on her back which looked dry and sore. She had been complaining a lot so I decided to try using this cream. I applied it after she had finished her bath and whenever it felt that she needed more moisturiser. It really left her skin feeling soft after applying it.
It is very thin so it absorbs very quickly. I did this every day for a few days and the dry skin started to gradually reduce. I was very impressed. She even mentioned herself that it was feeling better! Bless her!
It keeps her skin moisturised for 24hrs. Her skin felt very soft. It is specially formulated with natural colloidal oatmeal. It is also unscented and paediatrician tested.
Aveeno Daily Care Barrier Cream – £6.99
Sienna is now 2 years old, so she doesn’t get nappy rash at all. But of course, she can still get the occasional irritated bottom. She is now in the potty training stage so she is not using nappies during the day anymore but still does during the night so sometimes this could still be a problem and she could have some irritated skin.
I used it a few times to test it. It is not that thick which I like, so it doesn’t stay on your hands and nails but, because of that, it doesn’t stay applied for long. I think it gets absorbed very quickly. I did notice that it did protect her skin and did help with any irritation which I thought was good. So now that I don’t really need to use a barrier cream as much this is a great alternative for when her skin gets dry.
This cream soothes and reduces redness on baby’s delicate skin and protects it from the causes of nappy rash. It creates a breathable skin barrier which protects against external irritants. It contains natural colloidal oatmeal and zinc oxide and it is formulated to minimise the risk of allergies. It is also unscented and paediatrician tested.
This is a great range which really helps to get soft skin. The oats are a perfect ingredient as it has so many benefits. Aveeno is a well-known brand and I can highly recommend it. You can buy their baby range in different stores such as Boots, Asda, Superdrug, Sainsbury’s and Amazon among others. See the information below from Amazon:
