Now that Bella is 6 years old I can see how she is taking her roll as “mother” very seriously when playing with her dolls. It is lovely to see her interact and play with her dolls all day long. She absolutely loves them. When Bella found out that she would have the opportunity to review the latest Baby Annabell doll from Zapf Creations, she was super excited.
When we received the Baby Annabell doll, both Bella and I were amazed with it as it comes in a clear box with both the doll and all her accessories on display. Bella was dying to open it but she needed to wait until she was back from her grandparents where she was staying for a week over the summer holidays.
When she was back the first thing we did was to film a video showing Bella unboxing and playing with the doll. You can see her unbox and play with the doll in this video below:
Now you can read below our thoughts about this doll.
As you can see from the video, this doll comes with a romper suit, one hat, one bib, one bottle, one dummy and one fabric necklace with amulet! In order for her to do all of her amazing functions you will need 4 x AA batteries, so bear this in mind when purchasing. You can also find a booklet with all the details of their products available. They have lots so I can see that we will be visiting the stores soon to get some accessories for our new doll Scarlet which is the Bella has given her! 🙂
Scarlet has lots of features. She is very realistic and also she is so pretty! She has pretty intense blue eyes! If you rock her in your arms, you will really be able to see her closing her little eyes and falling asleep. Once she is sleeping you will hear her making noises such as strong breathing which sounds like a a little snore. This is so funny, which you can hear very well in our video.
When she wakes up, it will be then time for something to eat. When you give her a small bottle, she moves her mouth and eyes as she sucks – just like a real baby. How cute is that? She also makes noises whilst eating. When you give her some water (after filling her bottle with water) you can see that it does go down, so she is actually drinking it which is put to use later when she cries.
At the beginning we didn’t know how to make her cry. We gave her water but we couldn’t see any tears so we were wondering if we were doing something wrong. After a few attempts and with no luck we decided to carry on testing the other features. Once daddy arrived home he gave it a try and guess what? He managed to do it! So funny! His technique was to squeeze the bottle so more water was actually inside the doll which in turn makes her cry quicker and a lot! So yes she cried A LOT, that much that we needed a towel to dry her LOL! I didn’t manage to take a photo of it but I did film it so you can briefly see this in the video.
After Bella tried again in another moment she also managed to make her cry so it was all under control and she mastered that feature very well in the end! You can see that much more clearly in the video. When she cries, to calm her down you can do a few things. You can either give her a dummy which she sucks very well, give her a drink, stroke her cheek or just give her cuddles and rock her. All of these will calm her down straight away.
Another interesting feature is that she can also burp! If you pat her on the back she will do a nice burp, LOL! Bella thought this was funny! It was interesting to see how Bella managed to burp her after she had her bottle, lifting her to pat her on her back. Bella is such a natural mother – you can see all those instincts very clearly. I love it!
If you stroke Scarlet’s cheek or gently pat her back, she will move around to show you how much she likes it. It is really cute! When she is happy she knows very well how to let you know through gurgles and babbles. It is such a lovely sound. You can hear this in the video too.
After picking up Sienna from nursery she also wanted to play with Scarlet and she loved her. She really enjoyed and was amazed with all the features. It was really cute to see them both playing together. I must admit that this has been one of the best dolls that we have had at home. All the features are fantastic and very realistic. Bella really loves her and she really loves taking her everywhere. We now have Scarlett being part of some of our journeys. We also got a little pushchair that Bella loves using to take her to the park. This has been something that she really likes doing so I now have 3 kids instead of 2, LOL!
Baby Annabell has a retail price of £49.99 and you can buy her in different stores such as Smyths Toys, John Lewis, Argos, Toys R Us or at Amazon for £36.99. You can find out more about Baby Annabell on Facebook, or Twitter.
What do you think of this doll? Do you like her features? Have you bought a Baby Annabell before? Do you have one for your kids? Have you heard of this new Interactive Baby Annabell? Please leave a comment below as I would love to know what you think.
*Disclosure: We received this Baby Annabell doll in exchange for a video/blog post. However all opinions and thoughts are my own.

Love you all ❤️

We had at one of these when my girls were little but I’m afraid she is looking a little worse for wear now. My youngest daughter is nearly 11 and she STILL loves to play with dolls. However, her play seems to have evolved into something a bit more medical. They have drips and bandages all over them! One even has an amputated arm – I’m coninced she is going to be an orthopaedic surgeon when she grows up. #KCACOLS

It’s amazing what baby dolls can do nowadays! Bella looks so happy with her new doll. We have ‘my first baby annabell’ at the moment, but I’m sure my little girl would love to move on to this one! #KCACOLS

Baby Annabelle looks like she’s still going strong. Whilst it does annoy me a little the way it normalises bottle feeding for little girls at such a young age. Thus is speaking as a bottle feeder myself! However, it does look like Bella really enjoyed playing with her and that’s what matters. Great review. #KCACOLS
