Baby Born Sister Review #NationalSisterDay

amomentwithfranca · 7 August 2016 · 67 Comments

Today is a special day: the 7th of August is National Sister Day (#NationalSisterDay) and in celebration of this we have received the new Baby Born Sister from Baby Born, the older sister doll to the original Baby Born doll! As you may know, I have 2 girls and they have each other for anything they need. They love each other and have a beautiful sister’s bond with each other. I really love that although they can get on each other’s nerves sometimes (LOL!), the love is always there! Sienna is still only little and there is a 4 year age gap between them so for Bella having this doll is perfect as she can do all the things that she would like to do with Sienna but can’t because of the age difference, so she was really excited to play with this doll.

Baby Born Sister Review

When the doll arrived, Bella and I were super excited to open the box and discover all her features and accessories. She is a super cute doll with lovely long hair, that you can brush and style. This is always a hit at home as Bella loves brushing my hair so now she can brush this adorable doll’s hair too.

The box contained the following items:

  • BABY born Sister Doll
  • One Outfit on the doll (leggings and shirt with LOVE print)
  • One pair of shoes
  • One water bottle
  • One hair brush
  • Three hair clips
  • Two scrunchies
  • Two bracelets: one for your child and one for the doll

Bracelets

She is a little older than her sister, the Baby Born but she is just as tall as her (43 cm) which will make it easy for them to borrow each other’s clothes. I can see that Bella will add these to her wishlist for Christmas! 🙂

Movility

It is great that she is able to stand on her own and also that she has very flexible joints. This makes it much more fun to play with her and I thought this was a great feature as Bella was able to play with the doll without the requirement of batteries to make her move. I was pleased with that!

The varied role play with BABY born boosts the imagination and has been proven to support the development of social skills and values such as responsibility, communication and empathy. This was interesting to see when Bella was playing for a long time with this doll. It definitely encouraged her imagination!

Bellas giving water to Baby Born Sister

She also comes with a bottle that your child can use to give the doll some water when she is thirsty, perhaps after an exercise session, ;-). She will only need to insert the bottle into the doll’s mouth (she has a little hole inside the mouth) and squeeze the bottle to get the water inside her mouth.

Baby Born Sister crying

Also if the doll is unhappy because she didn’t manage to get to her gymnastic lesson on time, for example, she could be very sad and could potentially cry, :-(. For your child to be able to see this, she will need to squeeze the doll’s right arm and then the doll will cry real tears. She has such big tears and it worked straight away after squeezing the arms 3 times. I was very impressed with this and Bella was amazed with this feature too. Bella also wanted to make her feel happy so she loved cleaning all the tears away, bless her!

This doll can be put in water because she is made of plastic, so your child can have a bath with her which is fantastic for Bella who loves wetting her dolls. I’m not sure why but this is something that always appeals to her. As I mentioned before, this doll has long, beautiful hair which is great for styling and combing. All the hair accessories are perfect for Bella to use and of course for practicing her plaits which she is getting better at lately. This range is compatible with the Interactive Bathtub and Bed which is great!

Aimed at children aged 4 years and over, you can buy this doll from Amazon for £44.99 which is a great price for all the features that she comes with!

What do you think of the Baby Born Sister doll? Do you have a Baby Born at home already? What do you think about her feature to cry real tears and that she doesn’t need batteries? Leave a comment as I would love to know what you think.

*Disclaimer: I received the Baby Born Sister to celebrate #NationalSisterDay in exchange for a review. However all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Thanks for stopping by,

Love you all ❤️

All very interesting. The hair braided was a great idea. So much fun for everyone to use. Makes hair look so attractive. All the girls friends will love it xx
