Since having kids I always seem to be losing things. Maybe I’m just getting older and more forgetful, or maybe its just that life is a lot more hectic with my 2 girls around. The worst thing is realising your car keys are lost when you need them right there and then, especially if I need to be dropping off or picking up one of the kids. A few weeks ago, I was contacted to see if I wanted to review the Beets Blu PagerTag – a wireless Key Finder device which aims to help keep track of keys or other valuables. It sounded like this could be really helpful.
The day the item arrived we were very eager to give it a go. The Key Finder works in conjunction with the PagerTag app which you download to your phone or tablet. Supported devices are as follows:
- iPhone 4s (or later), iPad 3 (or later)
- Any smartphone with Android 5.0 (and later) with Bluetooth 4.0 hardware
- Samsung with Bluetooth 4.0 and Android 4.3 (or later)
You can setup and track the PagerTag via the app, meaning you can track your valuables and detect where lost or forgotten items are. You can also be alerted if your item is outside of a certain range, via sound and LED lights. It can track location, and it also has an alarm which can be triggered to sound from the app.
We decided to test it with our car keys so we attached the PagerTag device to the car keys and followed the instructions to ‘pair’ the device with the app on my phone. I then asked Bella to hide the cars keys somewhere in our home to see if I could track them.
Within the app I then pressed the button to trigger the alarm sound on the PaperTag. As long as the device is in range (about 15 feet/5 meters) you should hear an alarm sound. Sure enough, an alarm sound immediately started to come from our bathroom. I was able to go straight to the bathroom and retrieve the car keys quickly. This is obviously much better than running around doing a mad dash at the last minute trying to find them!
I have listed below a few Pros and Cons regarding this product…
PROS
– Very small and handy: attach to/put in or on anything you want to track.
– Dual use, find your keys with your phone, find your phone with the PaperTag device.
CONS
– Requires bluetooth to be enabled. I have found in the past that keeping bluetooth enabled on my phone was a drain on the battery. However, bluetooth has improved and I find I can leave it on with more recent phones without it draining battery life.
– Limited range.
In conclusion, I think the PagerTag is affordably priced for solving the problem of lost devices in your house, so I can recommend it if you find you have this problem like me! In terms of features, it competes well with other similar devices on the market and in particular I liked that you can also issue commands to your phone from the button on the PagerTag too (e.g. take a photo, play a sound, etc). What this product is not, is a GPS (Satellite) tracking device, so if you leave your keys at a friends you won’t be able to get it to sound the alarm there. Having said that, it is priced considerably less than GPS tracking products.
The Beets Blu PagerTag has an RRP of £20 and is available to buy online from Amazon.
Have you heard of Beets Blu before? Do you have any of their devices? What do you think of this Key Finder/valuable? Would you consider buying one for your kids? Please leave a comment as I would love to read what your thoughts are.
Disclaimer: I was sent the PagerTag from Beets Blu in exchange for an honest review. All the opinions are my own.
Thanks for stopping by,
Love you all ❤️

It sounds like it’s an OK product. I would steer away from something that used blue tooth as my battery consumption is very precious to me
