Not long ago, we reviewed a Parking Garage from Brio. It was a great wooden toy and Sienna had so much fun. I was very impressed with it, and this is why we were so happy to be able to review one of their new Rescue range toys. This time we received their Rescue Emergency Set. It comes in a large box so the girls were jumping up and down with excitement when it arrived, LOL!
Last time, it was Sienna who reviewed the Parking Garage, so this time, Bella really wanted to give it a test – plus it’s also for girls and boys older than 3 years old, so I let her go wild with it! She was really excited to put all the pieces together to get it ready to play.
Daddy helped Bella put the track together. It was pretty straight forward but she needed some guidance so it was handy and fun for Bella to build it with him.
It didn’t take long to have everything ready. It is a really nice-looking set. The box contained 30 pieces, as follows:
- 1x Station
- 1x Fire Engine
- 1x Fire
- 2x Firefighters
- 2x Trees
- 1x Level Crossing
- 1x Curved Road
- 2x Rock Support
- 1x Bridge
- 1x Lumber Train
- 1x Lumber Load
- 1x Lumber Wagon
- 12x Pieces of Track
- 1x Ramp
- 1x Lumber Holder
- 1x Fire Wagon
This set has a lot of things to play with. You can pretend you are firefighting in the mountains – opening the garage door and driving to the scene of the accident as soon as possible. You can also use the ladder and hose to put the fire out before it spreads.
The fire engine comes with sirens and lights too which makes play even more entertaining. The fire engine needs batteries to function, but they are included and ready to go! I was so delighted to find out that we didn’t need to make an unplanned trip to the shop to buy batteries, so we were able to see the lights and hear the sirens straight out of the box! This was definitely a thumbs-up for Brio!
Each set is fully compatible with other BRIO sets, tracks, and trains. This is fantastic because we can start growing our little Brio collection at home. BRIO products are made from very high-quality plastic and beech wood. The trains, wagons, carriages, and road vehicles all feature the classic BRIO magnetic couplings allowing for easy connection to each other. This last feature is fantastic. It’s so much fun to be able to connect all the cars, tracks or trains.
This set is great because it encourages your children’s imagination and the development of their fine motor skills. Wooden train tracks are compatible with all BRIO trains and classic railway tracks. There are endless play possibilities. For example:
- Maintain the Equipment – Once back at the station you need to make sure the wagon is filled up with water, the hose it free from knots and the ladder operates.
- Sirens are Blazing – The lumber train is in trouble quickly get the fire engine on the road. Don’t forget to turn on the Sirens and flashing lights.
- Fire Station – Open up the main Fire Station door and barriers to allow the Fire Engine out as quickly as possible.
This Rescue Emergency Set is made from responsibly sourced wood and non-toxic paint, so now we parents can rest easy as our children operate car lifts and ready themselves for another adventure on the tracks. How fantastic is that?
The Rescue Emergency Set has an RPP of £79.99 and you can get it from lots of different retailers. You can buy it from Amazon for £66.84 which is great!
Have you bought toys from Brio before? What do you think of the Rescue Emergency Set?

We have TONNES of the Brio Thomas the Tank Engine sets. We used to set up a track that went through three rooms in the house (clearly we were deranged). Fun for days at a time. Until I needed to vaccuum….
