Fly London Ankle Boots from Bells Shoes

amomentwithfranca · 10 January 2016 · 7 Comments

Since winter arrived I have been looking for comfortable ankle boots to use every day for the school run, for the journey to the nursery, walks to the playground at the park, some casual boots that I can wear during the week. Something easy to put on and take off and that also has a wedge. I was so happy when Bells Shoes invited me to review a pair of their wide ranging collection of shoes selected from their website. I was so happy and grateful for the opportunity!

For those of you that haven’t heard of Bells Shoes before, they are a shoe store that stock many different brands of shoes. They opened their first shop door back in 1890. They have had some changes along the way, developing the brand’s reputation as a premium retailer of quality footwear. The first online store was launched in 2007. The online business grew rapidly as their brand recognition increased and as the company expanded into retail on Ebay and via Amazon marketplace. They are constantly growing.

When I had the first opportunity, I went to their website and started browsing around their wide range of brands such as Clarks, Camper, FitFlop, Earth Spirit, Josef Seibel, Skechers, Ecco, Rieker, etc. They have so many great styles and colours to choose from that I was overwhelmed in a good way. I stopped browsing when I finally saw THE pair of boots that I was looking for. They were the exact boots that I needed for my every day life, a casual but at the same time stylish, pair of ankle boots. They were called Fly London Sade Black.

Made by Fly London, a brand I had not heard of before, all their shoes looked very quirky and lovely. They were different and I just love how they look. I ordered my chosen pair in size 5 UK (size 38 Europe) although I have always been size 4 UK (37 Europe) but after having 2 kids my shoe size has changed so they are now a little bigger. I don’t normally buy shoes without trying them first as it can be difficult to know if they will fit well but when you are buying online you don’t have that option. I’m very particular with shoes as my feet seem to be difficult! The shoes really need to be really comfortable in order for me to wear them, so I was anxiously hopeful for these boots to be what I was looking for.

The shoes arrived quickly, just a few days after. The whole parcel came beautifully. You can tell that they really care about their service and the products they offer. I really love the The Fly London box too. Their logo is a large Fly, the box is yellow on the outside but green on the inside which I thought was quite unique. Upon opening the box, I saw the boots and was in love immediately! They looked exactly how they were shown on the Bells Shoes website. I tried them on and they fitted perfectly! I was so pleased with this… phew!!

These boots have a comfortable wedge heel with a wood effect finish that provides a unique textured appearance, while the sole stitching adds the perfect finishing touch. The studs to the ankle, chunky zip fastening and embossed Fly emblem add striking detail, while the micro-fibre lining ensures a comfortable fit. They were so different and comfortable. I love the wedge as I’m short so having a little bit of extra height is always a plus for me. I will always prefer wedges over heels as I can stand them much longer. I can hardly feel the height in that way.

Since I received them, I have been using these boots almost every day. They are really comfortable. I wore them during the whole festive season and I never had an issue. My feet always felt alright and I never felt tired in them. I had 2 interesting events where I had to walk a lot and I spent a lot of time on my feet. The first one was Drayton Manor Park in Staffordshire. We were there for about 5 hours I think and I never felt uncomfortable or had tired feet. They were absolutely fine which is a miracle! The other event that I wore them for was the Harry Potter walking tour which was about 2 1/2 hours walking around central London. We also had horrible weather that day as it was raining non stop all day. Everything was full of water and there were lots of water puddles. I was worried that the water would get inside my boots and wet my socks. I’m saying that because this actually happened to my daughter, with the boots she was wearing. Thank goodness that didn’t happen to me as the boots remained perfectly dry inside. They really protected me from the rain.

I really love these boots and they have become my new favourite footwear for the Winter and Spring. I expect I will be using them a lot over the next few months, at least until Summer begins to approach. The Fly London Sade Black Ankle Boots have an RRP of £104.95 but they are currently reduced to £65.95.
You can find Bells Shoes on Facebook and Twitter, Instagram and you can also browse around their boards on Pinterest.
Have you heard of Bells Shoes before? What about Fly London? Do you like ankle boots? Is this a type of boot that you would buy? Leave a comment that I would love to ready what your thoughts are.

*Disclosure: I was sent the above boots for the purpose of this review however all opinions are my own.
Thanks for stopping by,

Love you all ❤️

I must admit I had not heard of Bells Shoes brand before, the pair you placed a review on do look very comfortable and I do like the style of the boot too, I see the boots are very reasonably priced to, which is a great bargain, for a boot that should withstand for quite a few years.

I love ankle boots but they are not practical to wear over here in our very hot climate. These look really comfy though.

I’d not heard of Bells Shoes before, been over to their site to have a look around already as I need some new shoes for work, and can only have specific types – bookmarked them for a proper look later.

These are so unusual, I really like that they are wedges instead of heels. They are presented really well x

✨Happy Friday✨.Did you have a good week? Unf ✨Happy Friday✨.Did you have a good week? Unfortunately, it wasn’t that good for us because the girls have been under the weather. Bella started first with a sore throat and high fever for a few days and then when Bella got better, Sienna started! She got a horrible cough but no temperature. Her cough was that bad that she couldn’t sleep very well for a couple of nights. They are both much better now and back to school.. The weather hasn’t helped either. It has been so cold lately! I literally feel frozen all the time. Thankfully it is looking better atm as the temperatures are starting to rise. I decided to get my flu vaccine, so I hope it protects me from all these viruses that are going around! Have you had the flu vaccine too? .On another note, I went yesterday to a parents meeting about GCSE options for Bella. I can’t believe she needs to think about it already ahead of Year 9. The time really goes fast. Are your kids dealing with GCSEs too?.📸 Sharing this beautiful bouquet of flowers from @freddiesflowers to brighten up our day.#flowerarrangement #flowerdelivery #bouquetofflowers #flowersmakemehappy #loveflowers #flowersoftheday #flowersoftheweek #flowerlover #freshflowers #flowerobsession #bunchofflowers #foreverflowers #flowersofinstagram #homesweethome
