We were invited to celebrate the launch of the new Great Little Trading Co (GLTC) flagship showroom in Wandsworth, London. I absolutely love this brand so when I received the invitation I was so excited to attend the event to see all of their gorgeous products.
We made a video of our time at the event, which you can see below:
This showroom has 6,000 sq ft of retail space dedicated to children’s furniture, family home interiors and toys with individual displays and room sets specifically designed to appeal to children, mums and dads!
They have a lot of space to show all latest collection and to also let kids test them and have a play with their toys. I loved the idea of being able to go around, testing the products. It is fantastic because then you can see what your kids like or what they are enjoying playing with the most.
GLTC is a traditional and well known family orientated British business founded in 1996. For those who haven’t heard of them before, such as my international readers, GLTC designs and makes a unique collection of high-quality products which they believe that young families really need. They have won the annual “Best Children’s Retailer” award on eight occasions. They have been voted Best Independent Retailer (2015) and Best Online Retailer (2014), and also their toys have won numerous awards both for design and for encouraging imaginative and interactive play. How amazing is that?
Their toys encourage imagination, fun, play and development, and their furniture adapts and grows to suit the changing needs of a family. Their range focuses on three key areas:
- good-looking: essential wooden toys which encourage learning through play;
- smart storage which helps parents organise and simplify their homes; and
- well-designed children’s bedroom furniture and accessories to create the perfect spaces for children to grow, play, learn and sleep.
As soon as we arrived, my girls were quite fascinated. There were lots of goodie bags with balloons (with the GLTC logo) attached at the entrance of the store. It looked beautiful. I couldn’t resist taking a couple of photos of the girls.
We were greeted on arrival with a choice of cocktails and champagne. They had a beautiful tea set on display that we were lucky to get to use for our teas. They also had fruit and a delicious afternoon tea that was all perfectly tailored for the little guests as they were all done in miniature sizes. How cool is that?
Nick and I indulged ourselves with some champagne and some super yummy cake! The girls also enjoyed the cake, especially Sienna who seems to have the biggest appetite in the whole world, LOL! We were offered some delicious scones, mini sandwiches, mini bagels, mini tartlets and mini popcorn! Amazing right?
This showroom has been beautifully decorated. Every single detail is really mesmerising. We went around the store to check the whole collection – they really have gorgeous things.
We are thinking of redecorating the girls bedroom when Sienna turns two as I would like the girls to feel comfortable sleeping together in one room. We are planning to either have some bunk beds or a small bed for Sienna and a high bed for Bella with a place underneath to play and do homework, so it was interesting to browse for ideas and inspiration.
The girls loved this store. They played with all the toys, browsing around and enjoying the food. For them, it like they had arrived in a magical place with lots of toys to play with, LOL!
We were delighted to see Rosalind Maroney, the illustrator and designer, at this event. Rosalind has helped GLTC to create some of their most iconic designs and characters, including Miss Cat and Mr Bear. Rosalind was running “Meet the Maker” craft activities for children in the Art Gallery area. Bella and Sienna joined her but Bella was the one who enjoyed this the most. She made some masks and took part in the interactive drawing session.
At around 2 pm we were asked to gather in the centre of the showroom to listen to some welcoming words from Jamie. Immediately after that Tamara Macfarlane arrived, best-selling author of two fantastic series of books for children, “Amazing Esme” and “Dylan and the Dinosaurs”.
Tamara was joined by her friend Gilbert Giggles who is one of the very best children’s performers and circus entertainers. This was very entertaining. we laughed a lot! We were given 2 of her books one for Bella and one for Sienna. Tamara was also so kind to sign both books for my girls. Thank you so much Tamara! 🙂
The event was an invitation for a group of bloggers so I knew I was going to bump into some bloggers that I knew already. I was so happy to see my stunning friend Nadia from Scandi Mummy. She was there with her gorgeous son Caspian and we had the chance to have a quick catch up! This is why I love events like this. She took 2 photos from the above collage (left one and bottom right). Beautiful right?
As you can see, it was a lovely event and we were so entertained that we didn’t realise that it was already time to go. We had a great time, everything was absolutely lovely. Jamie and Annie Reeve are just the perfect hosts. They were so lovely. I really wish them all the best with this new showroom.
The showroom is located at 12 Buckhold Road, Wandsworth, London SW18 4GP which is well located with good public transport links and parking facilities around. You can find more about Great Little Trading Co (GLTC) in Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube or browsing their boards in Pinterest.
