Hatch Cards are the coolest greeting cards ever! A Hatch Card is a greeting card that comes to life using augmented reality via your smart phone or tablet. We were sent some to try out and review.
If your kids are like mine you take a lot of time and consideration in choosing their birthday cards, but after they have opened them and checked them for a couple of minutes, the cards go directly to the shelf, the back of a draw or maybe even to the bin! This can be disheartening after the initial thought and effort!
The people behind Hatch Cards who came up with the idea of Augmented Reality Greeting Cards, had this problem in mind. When your kids receive a Hatch Card from you they can scan it with a smartphone or tablet and it comes to life! That’s not all, because the best part of it is that after they have watched the animation they are given access to a range of free games and activities to keep them entertained for hours! I can confirm this has been true with my daughter Bella, who was so excited about the games that she has been playing them every day! She loves it.
We made a short video about the Hatch Cards in which you can see my daughter’s reaction when we found out how they worked.
How they work:
We received 3 greetings cards to review: a superhero card, a dinosaur card and a princess card.
SUPERHERO
DINOSAUR
PRINCESS
Each card has the instructions on the back and there is also a small message inside the card to let the people know that they need to follow the instructions in order to make them come to life.
First you need to download a free app called Zappar from your App store. This is very easy to do and only takes a few minutes.
Then you should scan the zapcode, found on the front of each card, by aiming your smartphone or tablet at it. It does not take long at all and should synchronise in seconds.
My Thoughts
I think these cards are AMAZING!! They are original and their designs are super cute. I haven’t seen anything like this before. When I explained the cards to Bella she was immediately fascinated with the idea. When she saw them working with her own eyes she was really impressed and really liked them. It adds so much fun to an ordinary card. The most interesting feature is that they have free games for kids to play after seeing the card come to life. We often do facetime video chats with family and the first thing Bella did was to tell everybody about the cards, giving them a demonstration. It was so nice to see her excited about them. Yes, these cards are definitely a “Yes -Yes” for all of us.
*Disclaimer: I received these cards in exchange for an honest review. This review is my own opinion and is a genuine representation of what I think.
Thanks for stopping by,
Love you all ❤️

I love the added bonus of being able to play a game with the card afterwards. Usually, in our house, cards are up for a few days then stored away in my sons memory box.
