This is a guest post written by my lovely friend Tracey from One Frazzled Mum called “Hello”. If you like poems, I’m sure you will like her poem too. If you would like to know more about Tracey, please scroll down to the bottom of this post where you can find her details, under “About the Author“.
Hello
“Hello,
she whispered.
Her voice rippling through the silence
like waves with nowhere to crash.
The voices she heard once before
now gone.
The silence deafening.
She had lost them,
the voices.
The ones that drowned the silence.
But in their place
seeped the quiet,
the calm,
the loneliness.
Stepping forward she called once more.
Into the hollows of the darkness,
the shadows,
the emptiness,
and there she waited alone,
for an answer to her calls.
Still.
Silent.
Until the voices returned
to comfort her,
protect her,
like a blanket.
To make her feel safe
but she was alone.
Scared,
in this unchartered
desolate space.
Her sound echoed back,
bouncing,
crashing into her.
Taking her breath away.
Her voice,
her sounds,
her words,
out there.
Alone,
but free.
Hello she spoke
stronger this time.
With meaning,
with feeling.
For anyone to hear.
She embraced the sound
as it danced in her ears.
Stepping out from the shadows,
she cast her words wide for all to hear.
The silence was broken.
She would be heard”
