Kiddy Cruiserfix 3 Car Seat Review

amomentwithfranca · 12 June 2017 · 19 Comments

I am really excited to be able to review the Kiddy Cruiserfix 3 car seat. I have admired this brand since my eldest was very little but for some reason, I never got the chance to own one of their seats. You can’t imagine how happy I was when Kiddy contacted me to review one of their latest models. I absolutely love their car seats so I was really hoping that the one I would be reviewing wouldn’t disappoint me!!!

Kiddy Cruiserfix 3 Car Seat Review

Last year, when I was invited to the E-Fluent 5 conference in Paris, I met the Kiddy team at their stand. They were really lovely and showed me all their products, so I had a little sneak peak of the car seat I’m now reviewing. I left my details with them and a few months later they contacted me.

OPENING THE BOX

The Cruiserfix 3 car seat costs £199.00. It comes in 8 different colours: Night Blue, Ocean Petrol, Nougat Brown, Royal Purple, Onyx Black, Ruby Red, Steel Grey and Lime Green. The one I saw in Paris was Lime Green and although I liked it, I felt that looked a bit too adventurous for me. Our car is silver with grey seats so I felt that either a black or silver car seat would best match the colours of the car’s interior. The car seat my other daughter uses is black too so I wanted to try something different and so I opted for Steel Grey.

The car seat arrived in a big box, perfectly wrapped up inside. I was okay lifting the car seat out of the box – it is not heavy. It’s a Group 2,3 seat which is for children aged between 3 and 12 years old, with a weight of 15 to 36 kg. It was perfect for Bella. She is 7 years old and she is just over 21kg.

We have been testing the car seat for a few weeks now. In this time he have done quite a lot of travelling by car so we have really given it a thorough test. Being in the car for so many hours its crucial that the girls are both comfy and safe.

DESIGN & COMFORT

I was really pleased with the colour we have chosen. It really looks fantastic, very stylish and modern. Although safety is of course the first priority it is also nice if the car seat has a good look.

The car seat is very comfy as well as safe. There is an adjustable leg rest to provide comfort; padded fabrics and excellent head support for a quick snooze. Bella has had a lot of naps in this car seat and has been very happy with it. She has never complained. She mentioned she likes it even more than the one she had before which is really nice to know.

INSTALLATION

Installing the car seat is very easy. Our car has ISOFIX bars which the seat uses to attach in place securely. It was straight forward to do.

MAIN FEATURES

The Cruiserfix 3 car seat is the latest in the Cruiserfix series.  They have improved side impact protection and added to the overall safety so that the Cruiserfix 3 also meets the latest norm: ECE-R44/04 (Supplement 10), and thus corresponds to the very latest safety standards. This is important to know.

Kiddy Shock Absorber

This car seat is secured in the car using the 3-point vehicle seat belt. The Kiddy Shock Absorber absorbs the energy acting on the 3-point belt and protects the child in the event of an accident or sudden braking.

Adjustable & convenient

The seat grows with your child as the width and height can be adjusted in 5 different points. There is an eye level indicator built into the head rest showing exactly where the headrest needs to be to ensure a perfect fit.

This was easy to follow and it is a great feature as this means that a child will travel safely on every journey giving us parents peace of mind.

Kiddy K-fix+ Connectors

A really great feature is the K-fix+ connectors. which have a unique sideways movement. So, if an accident occurs from the side, the seat has the ability to be pushed inwards, away from the door, to keep your child away from the impact zone. This offers excellent protection for your child.

Also, the sideways movement of the K-fix+ connectors allows the seat to slide sideways for easier buckling up which is very helpful if you have three children on the rear seat. We only have 2 children but it could be handy if we have a guest child in the car.

Optimised Side Impact Protection

The side impact protection offered by their high-performance ‘Honey Comb 2’ material has been optimised with the side geometry, making the head and shoulder protection for the child, even more effective without obscuring their view.

Easy one-hand height and width adjustment

The unique adjustment mechanism allows for the height and width of the seat to be altered with just one squeeze of a hand on the back of the seat. Particularly easy fitting reduces the risk of incorrect installation and gives you peace of mind time after time.

Retraction mechanism & Correct buckling

Due to the convenient retraction mechanism, you can retract the K-fix connectors into the child seat quickly and easily. That’s why the child safety seat can also be used in vehicles without ISOFIX system.

The belt routing, indicated in red, not only facilitates the buckling but also eliminates the risk of misuse.

Durable cover

The seat covers come in 8 modern colours with silver reflective panels on the side of the headrest for visibility in the dark. This enables the seat easily to be seen in the dark through the window, should an accident occur at night

The pattern on the seats is special. The dots represent Morse Code which conveys a special message: “Kiddy – we love our kids.” The seat covers can be removed and machine washed at 30°C.

Comfortable fabrics

The Cruiserfix 3 car seat has extra soft padding to provide maximum comfort for the child. The seat materials help regulate the child’s temperature. It absorbs any moisture around the child; increases air circulation, and ensures a comfortable seating environment.

OUR THOUGHTS

We love the Kiddy Cruiserfix 3 car seat. It looks amazing and it does its job perfectly well which is to protect our children. The safety features are incredible incorporating the latest technology. I am really impressed and I was not disappointed! It is a great car seat and because my daughter Bella can use it until she is 12 years old, it’s great value too.

Do you have a Kiddy car seat? What do you think of this car seat? Have you heard of the Kiddy Cruiserfix 3 before? Which feature do you like most?

*Disclosure: We were sent the Kiddy Cruiserfix 3 car seat for the purpose of this review. However, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Thanks for stopping by,

Love you all ❤️

Kiddy make amazing car seats don’t they! We had one for Nerys when she was younger and we were all so sad when she got to big for it as we loved it so much. I think it’s great that they are so safe, but also look as good as they do! x #KCACOLS

I like that it moves inwards if there is a side impact. It looks a little intense but that usually means it’s a good seat! #kcacols

I find car seat shopping really tough and with three little ones it is especially difficult to squeeze them all in. We do have a Kiddy seat for my eldest and it has been fab. This one looks very comfy and reasonably priced too! #KCACOLS

✨ Cat Cafe In London✨.📍Bella and I went t ✨ Cat Cafe In London✨.📍Bella and I went to @javawhiskersuk , a cat cafe located in @westfieldlondon . This was my present for Mother’s Day from her🌸.🌟 Before we went inside, we had to go to a separate room to wash our hands and remove our shoes..🐾 They have 2 different rooms: the Cat Lounge and the Kitten Lounge and you can choose to stay from 55 mins to 1hr 55 mins. The prices vary depending on the room you choose and the length of time..🍰 When we stepped inside the room we were greeted by a group of gorgeous kittens. We ordered (before we went inside the room) a latte and a delicious chocolate muffin with chocolate melted inside that was so good. This was served to us in the room while we were surrounded by these adorable kittens..🐱 We spent 55 mins playing and petting the kittens. They were so cute. We loved interacting with them..🥰 Their cafe is also a foster home for homeless cats so if you are looking to adopt one, this is the place to visit! They have had 230 successful adoptions already! 🙌🏻.🚨 The only downside is that you have to be over 10 years old in order to be allowed inside the rooms 😬.🐈 If you are a cat lover like us, I highly recommend you visit Java Whiskers! I thought it would be very chaotic but despite it always being louder when the girls are at home, especially my youngest one, lol, we did well..Bella did school work at home today and had the afternoon free. Sienna didn’t do school work. We only asked her to carry on doing Spanish and Maths via Duolingo. She also had Spanish lessons this afternoon (every Thursday she has lessons) so both days were manageable thankfully 😍.How was it for you? Did your kids stay at home or did they go to school? .PS: let’s hope things get better for teachers. ✨Peruvian Suspiro Limeño✨."Suspiro Limeño" ✨Peruvian Suspiro Limeño✨."Suspiro Limeño" is one of my favourite Peruvian desserts. When I was In Peru, I of course, made sure to have it not only once but several times 😉.This dessert is made of manjar blanco (milk, sugar, almond flour, egg yolks, vanilla) and meringue (egg whites, port, cinnamon) 😘.The history behind this dessert starts with Amparo Ayarza who was the creator. Her husband, José Gálvez Barrenechea was a poet and was the one who gave it its name. The poet called it "Suspiro de Limeña", which means, 'Sigh of a Lima lady', because it is soft and sweet like the sigh of a woman. Love this 🥰.Have you ever tried "Suspiro Limeño"? Or have you heard of it before? Would you try it? .📸 Picture taken @panchitasazoncriolla in Lima that has one of the best versions of this dessert 🙌🏻.#suspirolimeño #peruviandessert #meringue #merengue #desserttime #dessertlover #dessertpic #dessertgram #peruvianfood #cocinaperuana #gastronomiaperuana #perufood #peruviancousine #whatisfordessert #dessertsofinstagram
