Lily Blanche – Treasuring My Precious Memories With My Gorgeous Butterfly Locket

amomentwithfranca · 28 September 2020 · 22 Comments

When I was little, my mum had an amazing collection of jewellery and I remember I used to admire every single piece. She would tell me the story behind each and some were passed through generations. It was very special. I love the idea of not only cherishing the gorgeous designs but also to mark the special moments on life’s journeys and this is exactly what you get when you receive an item of Lily Blanche jewellery. I felt incredibly lucky when I was asked to review one of their gorgeous lockets. Being able to keep close to my heart the most important people in my life got me super excited.

They have such a gorgeous collection that it was hard to choose but after going through their catalogue I immediately fell in love with this Butterfly Locket, an 18 carat white gold vermeil four photo oval butterfly locket. It was so pretty and I felt it was the perfect locket for me.

About Lily Blanche

Based in her studio in Stirling, founder Gillian Crawford has taken inspiration from her grandmother: Lily Blanche Sheridan. Born in 1903, Lily Blanche lived an extraordinary life, mirroring the triumphs and upheavals of the 20th century. She travelled thousands of miles with her four small children, bringing them up in India in the last days of the Raj, and witnessing the rise of Gandhi.

Lily Blanche was a highly creative person and Gillian was influential in encouraging her creativity. Inspired by her jewel box, she has taken vintage designs and given them a modern twist by combining them with outstanding 21st-century design

About My Lily Blanche Butterfly Locket

I was blown away by this locket. I chose it in white gold. I have a lot of white gold jewellery so I thought it would match perfectly well with the rest of my pieces.  But if you are not keen on white gold, it is also available in rose gold, sterling silver and gold vermeil versions.

This modern, oval family locket expands to reveal four hidden photos. The locket features a sterling silver filigree butterfly charm, symbolising happiness and transformation. Did you know that butterflies are among the most cherished and magical creatures and are often used to express joy, spiritual renewal and creativity? So this makes this locket even more special.

Personalising My Lily Blanche Butterfly Locket

With this locket, I was able to choose 4 photos so I chose a photo of Nick and me when we got married, then a photo of each of my girls and my fourth photo was a family photo of all 4 of us together. This was a photo taken during the summer when we went to visit Broadway Tower in the Cotswolds on a weekend visit to family in Cheltenham. So it is a current photo and reminded me that despite the previous months that we have lived this year due to the lockdown and so many social restrictions after, we are still happy together and we thankfully managed to enjoy a lovely summer. This locket will remind me of 2020 and how lucky we are to be healthy and have each other. I love my family so much and having them so close to my heart makes me incredibly happy.

If you choose their “fill my locket” option, they will edit, print and insert the photographs for a personalised necklace. Another extra special feature is that you can engrave your locket with a quote or phrase. Your locket can be engraved on the reverse, outside and inside. I chose: “Family is a Gift that lasts Forever” which was engraved in the middle. You can see it when you open it completely.

This locket comes in 3 different chain length, so you can choose between 46 cm, 61 cm or 72 cm. I love long chains because I love putting them over my tops or dresses. I think it looks very pretty that way like in my pictures here, so I chose the longest one 72 cm. But you have the option to have a shorter length too.

The locket photo size is 23mm x 15mm which looks great. I loved how my locket looks with the photos. It is a great quality print.

The locket is hallmarked by the Edinburgh Assay Office with a full UK hallmark, so you know their standard of purity.

Presentation of My Lily Blanche Butterfly Locket

The butterfly locket is presented in a beautiful ribbon-tied gift box and comes with a special cleaning pouch to store it in and a branded polish cloth to keep it sparkling.

I was very impressed when I received my parcel. It was all so well presented and they put so much attention to detail which makes it even more special.

They also have a matching pendant, earrings and bangles. I am thinking of having some matching butterfly earrings too.

Instagram Giveaway

Lily Blanche has kindly offered a Butterfly Pendant worth £40 for one of my lovely followers. The giveaway will be live for 2 weeks so if you fancy winning, head over to my Instagram to enter.

My Thoughts

I absolutely love my Lily Blanche Butterfly locket. It is gorgeous. It is such a thoughtful idea. The highlight for me is that you can keep photos of love ones hidden inside. I should have another locket with photos of my family that I cannot see often because they are in Peru and Austria. This way I will be able to see the photos every time I miss them.

This locket would be the perfect gift for someone special as they can hold precious memories inside. Perhaps a good idea for a Christmas present. The Lily Blanche Butterfly Locket costs £215 and if you choose to personalise it with photos and engraving will be £15 on top and adding £3.50 for the longest chain.

I can highly recommend Lily Blanche. I am so grateful for my locket and I will cherish it forever.

Do you have a locket? Which photos would you choose to personalise your locket?

*Disclosure: I have kindly gifted a Butterfly Locket in White Gold for the purpose of this review. I was also given the opportunity to do a giveaway on my Instagram account so one of my readers can win a Butterfly Pendant. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Thanks for stopping by,

Love you all ❤️

I love that the locket can hold four photos rather than the traditional two. Great for indecisive people like me who can never chose their favourite photo! #KCACOLS
