How to Link to any part of a Page or Post

amomentwithfranca · 5 September 2015 · 25 Comments

I’m going to start sharing some of the things I have learned and picked up since starting my journey as a blogger. I always find these kinds of tips so useful so I hope that by sharing a few of these things I can help out other bloggers.

Blogging Tips

As this is my first blogging tip, I’m going to keep it very simple. I recently wanted to share a link to my site on some of my social media but I realised that the information I wanted to link to was not at the top of the page, it was much further down in a specific post. Just sharing the page link was not going to be good enough as anyone who clicked it would still need to find the relevant information buried amongst lots of other information in the page.

The solution to this problem is to create an anchor at the particular point in the page or post where the required information is located. To link to an anchor you need to:

Create the anchor.

The code is as simple as is shown in the box below. Replace ‘myanchor’ with whatever you like.

Create a link pointing to the anchor

You can then create a link like you would normally do – just put the name of your anchor to the link at the end. In our example, this would be ‘#myanchor’.

Working Example

Coming back to why I wanted to use this, I needed to link directly to a competition widget that appeared towards of the bottom of my page. The competition is no longer active but my link below still works and shows how I was able to link directly to where the widget appeared.

Link Direct to Competition Widget in Blog Post

Anyway, I hope you found this useful, let me know your thoughts in the comments below.

Thanks for stopping by,

Love you all ❤️

Great tip Franca! I am so horrible when it comes to coding. I even tried taking an online tutorial which did nothing but confuse me lol. This seems very straightforward and I will be using it for reference in the future. Thank you so much for linking up with #momsterslink. Hope to see you again this week!

✨First Week in Torrevieja✨ ☀️🏖️.Our ✨First Week in Torrevieja✨ ☀️🏖️.Our first week in Torrevieja was a mix of unexpected moments and relaxation. Sienna’s 9th birthday took an unexpected turn when she cut her thumb, and we spent some time in the ER getting a single stitch. 😢 But she’s a trooper and handled it like a champ..Despite this, we still managed at the start of that first week to soak up some sun, enjoy the pool, watch beautiful sunsets, and take in the incredible views. Evenings by the pool became our thing, creating lasting memories and a sense of calm. It wasn’t the week we had planned, but it turned out to be a week of quality family time and unwinding. ☀️🏖️.Swipe left to see our first week in pictures, and if you keep checking until the last photo, you can see Sienna’s stitch. She was such a brave soul. 💪.Now, who else has had unexpected adventures during their travels? .#Torrevieja #BeachView....Costa Blanca | Torrevieja | Family Ttravel | Sunsets | Pool Relaxation | Holiday Memories | Family Bonding | Spain | Alicante | Travel Blogger |

From Cala Cerrada to Playa del Mojon, from Playa de Mil Palmeras to Playa de la Mata, each had its own charm. .But our favourite was Playa de la Mata. It had a warm, clear sea, and those gentle waves were just perfect. We found ourselves coming back here again and again, enjoying the simple joys of sun, sea, and sand. We even stayed till 8:30 pm one day, savouring every moment of sunlight. .There are of course more beaches waiting to be explored, but that will have to wait for another trip! 😄🌴.Check the reel until the end to see each of the beaches I mentioned above 🏖️.✨Like, Save & Share if you are planning to visit Costa Blanca or if someone you know would like to visit ✨.If you have been around this area, what other beaches would you recommend to visit?☀️.#CostaBlanca #BeachDays ....Costa Blanca | Costa Blanca Beaches | Spain | Alicante | Family Travel | Travel Guide | Travel Blogger | Playa Cala Cerrada | Playa del Mojon | Playa de Mil Palmeras | Playa de la Mata | Beach Holiday | Beach Inspiration

The early morning sunlight painted the lake even pinker which was stunning! 🌅.Ever wondered why it turns pink? 👇It’s all thanks to the unique Halobacterium bacteria and Dunaliella Salina micro-algae that thrive in its super-salty waters. .Who would have thought you could find a Pink Lake like this in Spain? 🇪🇸.Have you ever come across a natural wonder like this that took your breath away? 🌟#PinkLakeTorrevieja #PinkLake #Torrevieja #Alicante....Pink Lake Torrevieja | Las Salinas de Torrevieja | Torrevieja Spain | Pink Lake Spain | Alicante | Costa Blanca | Spain | Lago Rosa | Family Travel | Travel Guide | Travel Blogger | Things To Do In Torrevieja
