Loving My Nails & Blow Dry From Live True London

amomentwithfranca · 17 November 2017 · 14 Comments

Who doesn’t like to be pampered? I seriously love it! There is nothing better than getting your hair and nails done! The feeling you get after is AMAZING! For us busy mums, getting a day where you are just spoilt a little bit is sometimes well deserved, LOL! You can imagine then, how thrilled I was when Live True London invited me to their Vauxhall salon to try their services! I was going to be travelling a few days after so the timing couldn’t have been better!

I was told that two ladies would be taking care of me. One was Edyta who was going to do a Shellac Manicure and then Paula would be Blow Drying my hair. I was so excited!

VAUXHALL SALON

The salon is next to Vauxhall tube station which is very handy. On my way I had to change from the Jubilee Line to the Victoria Line and that was it, so it didn’t take me long to arrive. The only thing was that despite being next to the station I got lost a little bit. I passed by it without realising as it is underneath a building so I didn’t notice the salon was there. When I come back I will know exactly where to find them, 🙂

When I arrived I was welcomed by the lovely receptionist and offered a tea or coffee so I was very happy to have a cup of coffee! 😉 The salon is very different to others I have visited. It has its own unique style. The whole decoration is very cool! Next door to the hair salon, they have the beauty salon. I find it so handy when you get a place that can do everything for you. They have so many services available which I thought was fantastic.

NAIL SALON

First, I was invited have my nails done in their nail salon. I had been meaning to get my nails done for a long time but for one thing or another, I hadn’t so I was really looking forward to having them done.

The salon was really nice. I loved the purple deco. They can accommodate a fair amount of people so it was relatively big. It was all very well thought out. They had a little area underneath the table where you could put your rings in a safe box. I thought this was a great idea!

At the start, I wasn’t very sure if I should be doing a Shellac manicure because after doing them for 3 months in a row, I felt my nails were very dehydrated so I decided to stop and rested for 3 months. So this time, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to get my nails back to this. But Edyta gave me some tips to take care of my nails. She suggested doing a treatment in between getting the nails done again which helps with nurturing my nails. I like that idea. She also mentioned that having them rested was a good thing to do too.

We chose the colour I wanted which was a dark fuschia sort of colour which matched one of my favourite lipsticks. Edyta did a fantastic job with my nails. She worked each nail separately so each nail got an individual seal through the LED lights. I thought this was a fab idea because even after 3 weeks my nails  are still looking amazing! Although it is of course time to get them redone again because I can see the roots now.

I really love my nails. Edyta did a FABULOUS job! What do you think? Do you like them? Thank you so much, Edyta! 🙂

HAIR SALON

After my nails, I was invited to go back to the hair salon to have my hair done by Paula. I got my hair washed first in such a lovely way that I got super relaxed! I love this moment, it is always so nice. She used Redken products for everything.

Then she asked me to sit where she normally has her equipment. I like that she had her name and IG details drawn on the mirror. How clever is that? So while she was doing my hair, I was able to get it documented through IG stories! Fantastic right?

Paula asked me what type of blow dry I was after and I told her that I would love some curls. I wanted something similar to my profile photo. I like my hair with some well-defined waves.

Paula was AMAZING. She did my curls all with just a straightener. I thought she would use a special curler but she didn’t need to. I find this super hard to do. I have tried it at home and have always done it wrong. It’s easier for me to use a curler.

She explained to me how to achieve the look myself but honestly, I still cannot do it on my own! I definitely need someone else to do it for me. It’s frustrating because I would love to be able to do that! I guess I will need to practice a lot until I can do it myself. In the meantime, I will have to visit Live True London more often so Paula can make my hair look fab again! 😉 So, what do you think of my hair? Do you like it? Thank you so much, Paula! 🙂

MY THOUGHTS

I was super pleased with my nails and blow dry. Both ladies did an AMAZING job! I really liked the result! I had a fab time too. They are all so friendly and the place is very cosy! They are a team that has been working together for years! You don’t see that very often in these places because people seem to rotate a lot but at Live True London, Vauxhall salon they are a big family!

If you live in London or just visiting and you are looking to discover a salon where you can be pampered for the day, I recommend you to visit them. You won’t regret and will love having a nice day being spoiled by these lovely people. If you are not near Vauxhall, you can check their website to find a salon near you as they have about 7 salons across London.

Your nails are a lovely colour and I dream of naturally wavy hair like your blow dry achieves. I only go for my hair cutting and colouring twice a year (June – my birthday and December – Christmas) but I make up for it by having my nails done every couple of weeks. Your post has got me excited for my pre-Baby hair cut and colour on Saturday ☺️ #KCACOLS

You can’t beat a bit of pampering can you?! I love going to get my hair done and always ask my hairdresser to curl my hair as I’m useless at it myself! I haven’t had my nails done in soooooooo long so I must do this once baby arrives! The salon looks fab, I live nowhere near London but I would definitely check it out if I was closer 🙂

✨ Cat Cafe In London✨.📍Bella and I went t ✨ Cat Cafe In London✨.📍Bella and I went to @javawhiskersuk , a cat cafe located in @westfieldlondon . This was my present for Mother’s Day from her🌸.🌟 Before we went inside, we had to go to a separate room to wash our hands and remove our shoes..🐾 They have 2 different rooms: the Cat Lounge and the Kitten Lounge and you can choose to stay from 55 mins to 1hr 55 mins. The prices vary depending on the room you choose and the length of time..🍰 When we stepped inside the room we were greeted by a group of gorgeous kittens. We ordered (before we went inside the room) a latte and a delicious chocolate muffin with chocolate melted inside that was so good. This was served to us in the room while we were surrounded by these adorable kittens..🐱 We spent 55 mins playing and petting the kittens. They were so cute. We loved interacting with them..🥰 Their cafe is also a foster home for homeless cats so if you are looking to adopt one, this is the place to visit! They have had 230 successful adoptions already! 🙌🏻.🚨 The only downside is that you have to be over 10 years old in order to be allowed inside the rooms 😬.🐈 If you are a cat lover like us, I highly recommend you visit Java Whiskers! ✨My Girls✨.Due to the strikes we had Sienna ✨My Girls✨.Due to the strikes we had Sienna at home yesterday and today, and Bella only today. I thought it would be very chaotic but despite it always being louder when the girls are at home, especially my youngest one, lol, we did well..Bella did school work at home today and had the afternoon free. Sienna didn’t do school work. We only asked her to carry on doing Spanish and Maths via Duolingo. She also had Spanish lessons this afternoon (every Thursday she has lessons) so both days were manageable thankfully 😍.How was it for you?
