I love shoes but I especially love boots. One of the things that I always buy each winter is a new pair of boots. I was on the hunt for a new pair of boots to help me with my everyday routine and also for travelling so I can walk comfortably and feel warm. It was therefore great timing to be invited by Hotter to go to their store in Uxbridge to choose a pair of shoes. With a huge smile on my face I gratefully accepted the offer 🙂
To be honest I hadn’t heard of Hotter before but that could be because I’m not originally from here. Nevertheless, I’m always open to discovering new stores and to see if they have what I’m looking for. So, with that in mind, I travelled on a wet morning to Uxbridge to meet the manager of the store.
I was very excited as I really wanted some new boots to wear on my trip to Basel. I was looking for something that would keep me dry and warm as I knew the weather could be very cold and wet in Basel. When I arrived, the deputy manager, a lovely lady, greeted me and showed me around the store. The manager couldn’t be there that morning but it was fine as I was taken care of very well.
She told me a little bit about Hotter. Apparently, Hotter was founded in 1959. They started by producing slippers but then began to diversify from their roots. They identified a niche in the market for stylish shoes with comfort built in. Since then product innovation, world class production facilities and continual reinvestment in their business have seen a huge expansion. They are now very popular in the UK and have about 70 stores around the country. Their shoes are made here in the UK in their factory in Lancashire.
The deputy manager helping me then told me to browse around the store to choose a pair of shoes. So I went around looking for my desired boots. They had some lovely shoes in different styles: heels, flats, ankle boots, knee boots, slippers, etc. It was a wider collection. I was actually impressed as I wasn’t expecting this. They also have a men’s section which I thought was great to know for Nick.
After browsing around, I stopped when I found the boots that I really wanted! They were the Gore-tex boots. Apparently, Hotter has been collaborating since 2005 with the Gore-tex brand to produce a range of boots and shoes that are designed to keep your feet dry whatever the weather. The Gore-tex membrane in each pair of shoes is designed to offer enduring weather protection. Water stays on the outside while perspiration can easily escape from the inside, therefore come rain or shine, your feet will be protected. Hotter are the only UK manufacturer to own a Gore-tex brand license.
I chose Orla’s waterproof and breathable Gore-tex in black. You can also purchase them in pebble grey, truffle or navy. Apparently, their product technology keeps your feet dry whatever the weather, with a stylish dual suede and textile uppers and deep toe box for extra wiggle room. This was just perfect for me!
See below the product benefits:
- Gore-tex performance technology
- Waterproof and breathable Gore-tex membrane
- Soft suede uppers
- Full length inside zip
- Cushioned insole
I also got another couple of options from the same range to try but for me, the Orla boots were my favourite and winners of the day! I wore them every day during my trip to Basel and they were the most comfortable boots ever! I also wear them every day for my nursery runs. They are fantastic and super comfortable!
If this wouldn’t be enough they also gave me a Wintertrax pack which is an accessory for my boots so they can help walking more confident on packed snow and ice. And they also gave me a Suede & Nubuck brush which I have used a lot and it is really good!
These boots were available for £95 but were also available for £69 in maroon. They also have discount offers on shoes and boots which currently gives a 10% discount using code: TEN. This offer ends on 08/01/2023, so hurry up as you don’t have long to make the most of this offer! 🙂
I’m so in love with my new boots I can’t recommend them enough! You should definitely consider a new pair of boots for you too! 😉 I would like to say a huge THANK YOU to Hotter for inviting me to their store in Uxbridge and kindly letting me choose a pair of boots.
Have you bought from Hotter before? What do you think of their new collection? Have your heard of their collaboration with the Gore-tex brand?

Yes I did notice you were wearing hotter boots when you visited last time, I thought they were lovely.
I love hotter casual shoes, iI have several pairs they are so comfortable, you can walk miles in them. Wear them a lot in the house, they give your feet lots of support, definitely worth every penny you spend on them.
I don’t think we have Hotter in Cornwall sadly, these look lovely though.
