I love travelling! If I could travel the whole world it would be amazing! There are so many countries that I would love to visit. I love discovering new cultures and learning about their beliefs and customs. My girls also have that passion about travelling like me. They were very curious about the countries we have visited and they wanted to know where they are located. We have visited my family in Peru a few times and I have shown them where it is located on a map on my phone, so they know where Peru is in regards to England.
I have always wanted to have a big map where my girls can visualise better the countries they have been to as well as the countries they would like to visit or even to learn more about all the countries in general. We were very excited when Maps International got in contact to send us their brand new Doodle Map and the Scratch The World Map for kids to review.
ABOUT MAPS INTERNATIONAL
Maps International are based in Oxfordshire. Their team includes specialist cartographers and their catalogue of maps is comprehensive and caters for both functional use and home decor. Their parent company is Lovell Johns which has a history of mapmaking for over 50 years.
Their comprehensive range includes best-selling World Maps, Continental Maps, Personalised Maps and Map Wallpapers. Popular finishes include Canvas, Wallpaper, Magnetic and laminated posters. Maps International ship throughout Europe and to worldwide destinations.
INTERACTING WITH THE MAPS
The maps arrived in a robust cardboard tube to avoid any kind of damage. It is great when you don’t have it on display and after exploring the map you would like to put it away. At the moment we have it like that but we would like to hang them on the walls and when they finish interacting with them, we would like to frame it. They would look very cool as a home decor.
Scratch The World Map for kids (activity adventure map print) – From £20
This map is a fun way for children to discover the world they live in. Your little ones simply have to follow the clues to explore and scratch off parts of this fun world map! This creative map will take your child on a trip around the world – from the kangaroos in Australia to the polar bears in the Arctic.
It is more targeted towards older kids and features exciting tasks and clues. Kids are encouraged to explore every corner of the globe, scratching off countries and cities to reveal cartoon illustrations of popular landmarks, icons and animals. So we gave this map to Bella and she had so much fun scratching the map and discovering new things. What a fantastic way to learn about geography!
As they scratch off each part of the world map, they’ll encounter cartoon illustrations of popular landmarks, icons and animals around the world. They can also get creative and design their own flag, scratching it onto a space reserved at the bottom. How cool is that?
Doodle World Map With Crayons – £14.99 for 1 or £19.99 for a pack of 2
This is definitely a fun way to teach children about the World. I think this map is more targeted for little ones so I thought this map was perfect for Sienna.
This map has clear and easy to read fonts. Continents, countries and rivers are clearly shown. The Doodle World Map is supplied with a pack of crayons so that children can colour the countries in. You can use it as a way to discuss geography with children in a fun and interactive way.
I like that kids can colour in the countries, continents and rivers of their choice, creating their own signature piece of global art! It is so much fun!
Sienna loves the fact that she can colour the whole map. Colouring is one of her favourite activities and she can do it for hours! So she really enjoyed colouring in her favourite countries or even just colouring random places to add to the fun!
EXTENDED RANGE
Maps International have a big selection of maps for all tastes and needs. Their kids range is great. Apart from the maps I mentioned above, they also have a World Illustrated Sticker Map (£16.99) and Glow in the Dark Children’s World Map (from £20) which sound like a lot fun for little ones too.
They also have craft kits and gift selections such as globes, origami animals or 3D Model Map of London! They make perfect stocking fillers for £10 each.
OUR THOUGHTS
These maps are great! I love that my girls can learn more about the world that they live in through these maps. They can have an idea of whereabouts certain countries are located and visualise that in their heads. They are educational, beautiful and best of all super fun which is very important to keep little ones engaged! I like that once they’ve completed their project it can be hung on their bedroom wall for all to admire. I think they are great for a Christmas gift which will last forever!
Do you have a map at home? Do your kids enjoy discovering and learning about new countries? What do you think of Maps International? Will this be an option for your Christmas Gift list?
*Disclosure: We received 2 maps from Maps International for the purpose of this review. However, all thoughts and opinions are my own. I had also the opportunity to give the same maps I received to one of my readers.
Thanks for stopping by,
Love you all ❤️

I don’t have a world map at home, but do have a shiny gold map of the UK. I like the idea of having maps for kids so they can learn without even knowing they are learning! I’m definitely going to have a map in my baby boy’s room when he’s a little older. I like the idea of buying maps as gifts, especially if they are really nice ones like these!
