How many photos do you take? I take so many. Partly because I need to for the blog which is my job and partly because I love taking pictures of my girls. It is lovely to have so many memories of them growing up. Do you find that you never seem to print them out as much now? They sit on your phone or memory card or even in a file somewhere!
Ad-Gifted: I received a Nixplay Seed for the purpose of this review.
What if I told you that you could see your images without printing them out? By having them in a frame around the house and even to share with the family who you don’t get to see that often? You can even play 15-second videos via the app too making it a fun way to keep in touch with family. All you need to do is upload the images to the app and you’re good to go. There is no need for a memory card.
This is where Nixplay comes in with their WiFi Cloud Frames. I was sent a Nixplay Seed to review and honestly, I love it. Connected to your photos via the Nixplay app, you can upload your photos to the high-resolution screen and have your pictures playing as you upload them.
Using My Nixplay Seed
It is really easy to get started. The instructions are easy to follow too. It took me a few minutes. I downloaded the app and followed the instructions there. Very quickly I got my images from my camera on my phone in different albums so I can display them on the Nixplay screen.
Nick and I share the same login details so we can add our photos individually but you can also invite friends/family so you can share the images with them. It is a lovely way to keep connect it with your family. I haven’t set this yet but I am planning to do with my family back in Peru so they can see the girls growing up.
The quality of the images is fantastic. It is very clear. The screen quality is (IMO) right up there with an iPad screen.
The menus are also very clear and well presented. It comes with lots of options. The frame also has a remote control which is very handy. However, you can use the app from your phone to control the device too. The frame also played movie clips shot by my iPhone which you can select with or without sound.
Nixplay App
There is the option to add up to 5 frames to one account and create different albums which can then be uploaded to Playlists. These playlists can then be “published” to one or all of your frames so you can really personalize what you want to display. It works with both landscape and portrait images which is great I think.
There is an on/off sensor which is very handy. It means that it is only on when someone in the room to look at the photographs. The 8″ screen was a perfect size for us. I have put it on the side table in the living room and looks great. I like the Mulberry colour. It matches very well with my living room decor.
There is 10GB of online storage per account and you can control various settings like transitions, sleep time, etc from their website as well. You can also connect social media platforms, but I haven’t done this yet.
What do I think of the Nixplay Seed?
So far, I am very happy with this frame. From the moment it arrived I have had it on display in the living room. The girls love watching it. They literally check it all the time and keep asking me to add more images. I can add up to 100 images to display on the frame at any one time. So I will be displaying the same images for a week and then changing them each week.
If you are looking for a fun and easy way to share your photos instead of having them on your phone, then the Nixon range of frames are perfect for this. One of my favourite features is that you can share this with family members too, I know my family back in Peru would love to see regular updates of the girls and what we are getting up to!
The Nixplay Seed I received is £149.99 and they have different frames you can choose from too on their website so why not head over and see which one works for you.
Are you looking for a way to display your photos? Would you try Nixplay too?

This is a great idea, particularly for someone like me who never gets round to deciding which photos to print and display. This way, I could display loads at once and avoid having to make any decision at all! #kcacols

I thought this was just a simple digital frame at first, but I’m really impressed after reading all the details of what it includes. I love how you can add photos via the app rather than needing to use a memory card. This sounds like such a lovely (and easy) way to keep updated photos on display, as well as share them with loved ones. x #KCACOLS

I remember having a digital photo frame when they first came out but it looked so clumpy and unstylish where as the Nixplay looks so much nicer and you’d be happy to have it on display. #KCACOLS
