No #KCACOLS Tonight & Update

amomentwithfranca · 22 January 2022 · 5 Comments

Welcome back to #KCACOLS. THANK YOU ALL so much for being part of the linky! I really appreciate your support.

You are probably wondering what is going on. This is not a linkup post but rather a post with an update regarding this linky. I have noticed lately that the linky is not performing as it used to. I am not sure if it is related to the pandemic and people’s lives have dramatically changed in the last couple of years or if it is because there are more people shifting towards a social media approach rather than focusing on their blogs. Either way, the linky has been affected and it is not the same anymore.

I have been telling myself that perhaps things will go back to normal and that I have to be patient. But the reality is that it is not getting better and it is time to do something about it. This linky started as a way to help each other to make our blogs more noticeable but slowly it became a lovely community. I have been hosting this linky since November 2015, so more than 6 years and it has been a pleasure for me. I have hosted it during all kinds of circumstances while travelling, while being unwell or my kids being unwell, while having visitors, etc. I have always made time for it because I feel it is another extension of me, another child that I have to take care of too. I can honestly say that I love this linky and it has brought me not just so many memories but the opportunity to meet so many like minded people like you. I have met a lot of you in person which has been so lovely and a lot of you I can now call friends. I know a lot of you have moved forward from linkies now but we know KCACOLS was a place that help you to start off from this blogging world and it was a lovely way to get to know so many amazing blogs.

I have always been excited to see people still joining us since we started or being on and off from this linky. I always feel so emotional when I see someone joining us again after a long break from linking up with us. That has been always a highlight for me.

Unfortunately, I cannot keep lying to myself and thinking that everything is okay because it is not. I don’t see the demand there anymore. I hardly find people to be available to help me co-host the linky. This has never been like that and of course, this tells me something is wrong. Maybe it is time to let it go? But before I make this decision, I thought to give myself a little more time to think. That is why I have decided to NOT HAVE A LINKUP TONIGHT, this way I have more time to think carefully about what should be the next step.

I would really like to hear your thoughts about this, so please leave your comments with any ideas that you might have if you think we could still carry on. Because this linky is a community, I really hope you can share your thoughts and ideas with me. Perhaps together we can keep this linky alive? Depending on this and if we get more people willing to get involved helping out as co-hosts, this linky might be able to carry on. If not, sadly I will have to come to the decision of saying goodbye to this linky which is incredibly upsetting for me. I still cannot see myself letting it go but perhaps the time has sadly arrived.

Either way, we will have a linkup on Saturday 5th February which could be our last linkup or if a miracle happens, it will be the start of a new fresh KCACOLS. I will update you all on that linky post. What I do know for sure, is that we will have only 1 co-host and I will be adding only one of my blog posts so there will be only 2 mandatory posts to comment on instead of 4.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy your weekend and I hope to see you on Saturday 5th February with an update about KCACOLS future.

Thanks for stopping by,

Love you all ❤️

Franca  💋

I think there just might not be a lot of us left that are still blogging. As less and less people seem to be actually reading and all of the $ opportunities transitioning to you-tube and tik tok and other visual mediums I think that a lot of us that are still hanging around writing are doing it more for themselves so they are less inclined to make an effort to try and attract more readers and views. I still want people to read what I say because I have a big ego and also still try and come around because I honestly enjoy reading other people’s stuff and linkies force me to make the effort to search them outer but I can understand why many seem to be dropping off. It’s a shame.

Hello! I hope you continue your linky! I found you a couple of years ago, and have enjoyed hearing/seeing Britian’s blogging community, (since I’m from US). The pandemic is taking a toll on people, making things more erratic. Pre-pandemic I was starting to blog post more again, and in 2021 I had the goal of blogging once a month. Then I just stopped. I really don’t know why. Now in 2022 I am again making that goal. So I would have been one of those “I always feel so emotional when I see someone joining us again after a long break from linking up with us. That has been always a highlight for me.”

You list a large amount of positives the blog has given you. The negatives would include it’s a lot of time. I hope you keep it going but devote a bit less time to it. Don’t manage or monitor if people are posting and not commenting. Skip weeks where kids are sick, visitors are there, etc. (People will understand) You have made a community, throwing it away because it’s smaller might be something you regret years later. I hope you taper your involvement but keep carrying on.

This pandemic has massively effected the entire world. I can’t blog about travel and events that I didn’t do. It might be another positive to keep the blog going to see it through the duration of the pandemic. It will become a document of a significant world event.

In the end, I hope you keep Calm and Carry on Linking, but taper your workload. I don’t know what co-host do, but I hope you find what you need to Carry On. I’ll miss your blog link party if it ends, even though I was only an occasional visitor.

Oh no! I’ve been missing because I’ve been on holidays. Just coming back now (next week). Anyway, whatever you think is best is probably best, as you do the work!

✨ Cat Cafe In London✨.📍Bella and I went t ✨ Cat Cafe In London✨.📍Bella and I went to @javawhiskersuk , a cat cafe located in @westfieldlondon . This was my present for Mother’s Day from her🌸.🌟 Before we went inside, we had to go to a separate room to wash our hands and remove our shoes..🐾 They have 2 different rooms: the Cat Lounge and the Kitten Lounge and you can choose to stay from 55 mins to 1hr 55 mins. The prices vary depending on the room you choose and the length of time..🍰 When we stepped inside the room we were greeted by a group of gorgeous kittens. We ordered (before we went inside the room) a latte and a delicious chocolate muffin with chocolate melted inside that was so good. This was served to us in the room while we were surrounded by these adorable kittens..🐱 We spent 55 mins playing and petting the kittens. They were so cute. We loved interacting with them..🥰 Their cafe is also a foster home for homeless cats so if you are looking to adopt one, this is the place to visit! They have had 230 successful adoptions already! 🙌🏻.🚨 The only downside is that you have to be over 10 years old in order to be allowed inside the rooms 😬.🐈 If you are a cat lover like us, I highly recommend you visit Java Whiskers! It is the perfect place to unwind and relax with these beautiful kittens! 🙌🏻.Have you visited a Cat Cafe before? 🐈‍⬛ .#javawhiskers #catcafe #catcafelondon #londoncafe #westfieldlondon #londondayout #daysout #thingstodoinlondon #newplaces #londonguide #lovecats😻 #catsofinstagram #catloversday #londonthingstodo #whatsonlondon
✨ Happy Mother's Day✨.If you are in the UK, ✨ Happy Mother's Day✨.If you are in the UK, I hope you are having a lovely Mother's Day! 🌸🌸.We actually started the celebrations yesterday as Bella took me to @javawhiskersuk a new cat cafe in Westfield as a present for Mother’s Day. We spent 55 mins arround gorgeous kittens. I had a great time! I am a cat lover so this was a fab present for me! I will talk more about this experience on another post but if you swipe left you can see a little peak of our time there! 🐈😉.Today, the girls and Nick took me for the actually Mother’s Day celebration 🎉 to @cafejackss in Queen’s Park where we had brunch. It was a yummy treat. Swipe left to check it out! 😋 .After that we went for a walk. There was a small market nearby so it was nice to have a little look around 😍. We then went back home and spent the rest of the day chilling which is something, I’m not going to lie, I love doing! 😉😂.How was your day?#mothersdayuk #mothersdayweekend #mothersday2023 #motherofdaughters #mumoftwo #mumofgirls #mydaughters #lovemydaughters #daughterslove #mummydaughtertime #daughtersarethebest #daughtersrock #spendingtimetogether #happyfamilytime #familytime💕
✨My Girls✨.Due to the strikes we had Sienna ✨My Girls✨.Due to the strikes we had Sienna at home yesterday and today, and Bella only today. I thought it would be very chaotic but despite it always being louder when the girls are at home, especially my youngest one, lol, we did well..Bella did school work at home today and had the afternoon free. Sienna didn’t do school work. We only asked her to carry on doing Spanish and Maths via Duolingo. She also had Spanish lessons this afternoon (every Thursday she has lessons) so both days were manageable thankfully 😍.How was it for you? Did your kids stay at home or did they go to school? .PS: let’s hope things get better for teachers. I fully support the strikes. .#sistertime #sisterlylove #sistersgoals #hermanas #sistersforever #sistersforlife #sisterslove #siblingslove #lovemydaughters #raisingdaughters #mydaughters #londonkids #WembleyPark #wembley #londondesigneroutlet
✨Happy Weekend✨.How is your weekend going so ✨Happy Weekend✨.How is your weekend going so far? I am finally feeling more normal after the massive jetlag I had after my trip to South America. I am not sure why it hit me so much this time but it has taken me about two solid weeks to properly be back to my routine without feeling right. Waking up in the mornings was the worst. It was very hard, especially when I had to be on time for the school run! 😩.Anyway, everything feels better now! 😊.How long does it take you to be back to normal after a jetlag? Do you have any tricks or tips to speed this process? .📸 Selfy taken in Barranco, a lively district in Peru considered to be one of the most romantic and bohemian places to visit and being the home and working place of many Peruvian artists, musicians, designers, photographers among others 😎.#thisisme #selfie #instaselfie #smilemore #brunettehair #greeneyes #over40#over40blogger #overforty #overfortystyle #over40andfabulous #over40mom #outandabout #barrancolima

You will see several parks with sculptures of famous artists that make this walk even more unique and enjoyable. Along the route, you can find numerous recreational activities such as surfing and paragliding..If you keep walking you will arrive at “Larcomar” which is a shopping centre and has many restaurants and cafes so you can enjoy a coffee or a meal with the gorgeous ocean view too. .Pictures explained below:1. ✨Peruvian Suspiro Limeño✨."Suspiro Limeño" ✨Peruvian Suspiro Limeño✨."Suspiro Limeño" is one of my favourite Peruvian desserts. When I was In Peru, I of course, made sure to have it not only once but several times 😉.This dessert is made of manjar blanco (milk, sugar, almond flour, egg yolks, vanilla) and meringue (egg whites, port, cinnamon) 😘.The history behind this dessert starts with Amparo Ayarza who was the creator. Her husband, José Gálvez Barrenechea was a poet and was the one who gave it its name. The poet called it "Suspiro de Limeña", which means, 'Sigh of a Lima lady', because it is soft and sweet like the sigh of a woman. Love this 🥰.Have you ever tried "Suspiro Limeño"? Or have you heard of it before? Would you try it? .📸 Picture taken @panchitasazoncriolla in Lima that has one of the best versions of this dessert 🙌🏻.#suspirolimeño #peruviandessert #meringue #merengue #desserttime #dessertlover #dessertpic #dessertgram #peruvianfood #cocinaperuana #gastronomiaperuana #perufood #peruviancousine #whatisfordessert #dessertsofinstagram
