As you already know we love puzzles and jigsaws. They are so much fun and we can be hours playing them. We recently reviewed the Woodland Party puzzle from Orchard Toys and the whole family had so much fun. When they sent us another of their fabulous jigsaws to review we were so excited, especially Bella who loves them a lot!! This time, we received the Giant Town Jigsaw and Airport expansion.

This jigsaw was massive!! I love it! The box come with a handle so it is easy to transport it which I thought was an interesting feature. Bella loves taking her toys to her Grandparents so this is super practical for us!
You can build a town scene with the 15 piece chunky jigsaw which ended up as an extra large jigsaw playmat!! How amazing is that?
I let Bella do all the work this time as I know she loves opening the boxes and building it on her own. It was not difficult for her to do. Of course she needed some guidance but she managed to do almost all of it by herself which I thought was fantastic. It comes with 15 character stands and 3 exits that you can use in conjunction with the Orchard Toys Giant Road Jigsaw and On the Farm jigsaw playmats.
The play pieces come with small plastic mounts so these pieces can be stood upright and are then easy for kids to move around and play. Putting the play pieces inside the plastic mounts was not easy. I had to help Bella to do this part. She was then able to play with all of them.
The jigsaw is really high quality, with lots of interesting details. This is perfect to attract any kids’s attention, inspiring them to use their imagination to come up with fantastic stories as they play! I thought it was great that we were also able to try one of the extension pack add-ons (Airport).
This jigsaw has been carefully designed to:
- Develop knowledge and understanding of the world (talk about towns, road safety, own experiences, etc)
- Develop manual dexterity (constructing the puzzle)
- Encourage personal choice and decision making
- Promote imaginative play
Bella then opened the Airport extension pack. It works the same as the giant town jigsaw. It comes with 4 pieces including a runway & a helipad. It also has 2 T-junctions and 2 aircraft play pieces with stands.
We will have to get the Giant Road system so then we will be able to connect them all but despite not having this, Bella had so much fun playing with all the play pieces and she loved imagining her own little story of what was going on in her Town and Airport. I loved watching her play. It was so cute!!
The overall size of the Giant Town Jigsaw is 85.5cms x 69.5cms and it has an RRP of £13.95. You have lots of play potential here as you can add so many other extensions from the Orchard Toys range. I love that these jigsaws are made from a strong material which should make it last longer.

This looks like a great set. We don’t tend to play with things like this just yet as my youngest (1) just grabs the pieces and hides them/eats them/breaks them and then the girls get angry and it always, ALWAYS ends in tears!! I’m hoping as soon as he grows out of this stage that we can start playing with these a little more!

The Giant Town Jigsaw is perfect for inquisitive minds and I love this airport extension! My little sister has the giant railway set and she loves it.
Orchard Toys have some fabulous games and puzzles., we have two of their puzzles and my boy loves them. These ones look great, I just wish we had the floor space for them.

I’d definitely buy these when Toby’s a little older! I actually bought him a 4-in-1 farmyard puzzle set by Orchard today, which is his present from baby when she finally arrives xx
