Rock Luggage Vintage Range Review

amomentwithfranca · 9 January 2021 · 93 Comments

I know we haven’t had many opportunities to travel last year and it is looking like it will be like that at least for the start of this new year but for now, thinking of all the places that I would love to visit when we are allowed to travel again, is making me happy. We were so lucky to be able to travel to Crete last year during the summer and I really hope we can go away this summer too. One of the things that I really needed on that trip and I didn’t have time to do was upgrading my luggage. I have had mine for a very long time and I really need a new set. So when Rock Luggage approached me to review their Vintage Luggage range, I was super excited to receive one.

Ad Gifted: I received a Rock Luggage Vintage Medium Suitcase for the purpose of this review

ABOUT ROCK LUGGAGE

Rock Luggage is a UK-based, family-run luggage brand. They have been manufacturers and distributors of luggage, bags and travel accessories for more than 40 years.

All Rock products come with a 15-year manufacturer’s warranty against manufacturing defects arising from faulty workmanship or materials.

ROCK LUGGAGE VINTAGE RANGE

I have been wanting to get hard luggage for a while. The girls have had hard shell suitcases for a few years and they are always much better protected than mine. I definitely prefer hard-shell suitcases to soft ones.

One of the main features of the Rock Luggage Vintage range is that it comes with a hard shell, so I was so happy to finally upgrade my old suitcase to a hard shell one. The Vintage range has been made for Modern Explorers. It has a trunk design that embodies a classic timeless look but it has a contemporary lightweight construction as well as strong and durable features.

The suitcases are made of an impact-resistant, hard shell ABS material. Tough, reinforced corners protect belongings from all the bashes and bumps of baggage handling.

FEATURES

8 Smooth Rolling Wheels

8 times easy glide double wheels for improved stability and handling. Effortless 360-degree rotating wheels make manoeuvring around an airport or train station fast and easy.

For me, this is one of the most important features. Nick has an old suitcase and the wheels don’t rotate 360 degrees and I can tell you how frustrating this is. Every time that I had to push his suitcase, I really felt the difference. Smooth and rotating wheels are key for a suitcase and make your travelling experience much easier.

Aluminium Telescopic Handle

Easily adjust the height of the suitcase using the push button on the telescopic handle. Made from strong and durable aluminium.

I love that the handle can be easily adjusted. It really frustrates me when your handle gets stuck in the middle of your journey. I found this incredibly annoying! It is so important that this feature works perfectly well. So I am really looking forward to trying this once we are able to travel again.

Integrated TSA combination lock

For your complete peace of mind, Vintage cases are fitted with an integrated TSA combination lock. Travel Sentry develops and licenses standards used in travel security, including a standard for luggage locks that can be legally opened by aviation security agencies.

I found this feature incredibly useful. I’m not sure about you, but I’ve had many incidents with my locks being missed and trying to desperately look for them everywhere with no luck. So having the lock incorporated into the luggage really helps with this situation. Now I don’t have to think about where I put the lock.

Fully Lined Interior

The interior of Vintage has luxurious soft touch lining and a mesh divider section. The design also features a convenient zipped inside pocket and elasticated packing straps to keep your clothes securely in place.

The interior is great. I love that you have a proper division that you can open with a zip. It makes it easier to separate your clothes and items. The pockets are very useful too.

ROCK LUGGAGE VINTAGE COLOURS

The Rock Luggage Vintage comes in different colours. I chose my beautiful Vintage suitcase in Cream. I love this colour so much. The colour is even better in person.

It also comes in three other colours: Black, Navy and Pink. If we do a complete family upgrade, I will go for the Pink set for the girls and Nick would probably choose Black or Navy. I think all the colours are lovely.

ROCK LUGGAGE VINTAGE PRICE & WHERE TO BUY

The Rock Luggage Vintage suitcase I received was of a Medium size (67 x 41 x 26 cm) but they also come in Large (78 x 47 x 30 cm) and Small (54 x 35 x 22.5 cm). This last one is the perfect Cabin size. I am thinking of getting the Cabin size too as I am really loving the Medium suitcase so far so it would be great to have them match.

The RRP for these suitcases are £204.99 Rock Luggage Vintage Large, £184.99 Rock Luggage Vintage Medium and £164.99 Rock Luggage Vintage Small but there is a lovely sale at the moment and you can get them for much less. You can buy them directly from their website or via Amazon.

MY THOUGHTS ON THE ROCK LUGGAGE VINTAGE RANGE

I am loving this suitcase. The vintage design looks so smart. The features are fantastic and the colour is gorgeous.

It is great that they have produced a timeless design for the modern world of travel. Everything works for me! I just need to properly test it when we are able to travel again… hopefully soon! Fingers crossed!

Do you own a Rock Luggage? What do you think of their Vintage range? What is the feature that you like the most?

*Disclaimer: I received a Rock Luggage Vintage Medium Suitcase for the purpose of this review. All opinions and thoughts are my own. I was also offered the opportunity to giveaway the same Rock Luggage Vintage Medium Suitcase I received to one of my readers. Contain an affiliate link.

Love you all ❤️

I’ve not come across Rock before but it looks good, however it’s not what the luggage looks like when new that counts for me, it is what it looks like after five years of air travel that really counts. I some times wonder whether the luggage handlers at Heathrow take it as a personal challenge to better the most secure cases wrapped in cling film with meaty padlocks and whether it’s better to have old beat up case that presents no challenge.

✨Teacher’s Strike Day✨.Happy hump day! So ✨Teacher’s Strike Day✨.Happy hump day! So we have our first teacher’s strike day today which means no school and learning from home..Bella is doing her school work via Google classroom so she will follow her normal school day that way and Sienna doesn’t have a structured day from school today so she should have a day off but we have agreed for her to do some work too, so she will be reading, practicing for her spelling test and doing some maths. This way we can all have a productive day 😉, well hopefully! 😬. Have you been affected by the strike today? ✨Happy Friday✨.Did you have a good week? Unf ✨Happy Friday✨.Did you have a good week? Unfortunately, it wasn’t that good for us because the girls have been under the weather. Bella started first with a sore throat and high fever for a few days and then when Bella got better, Sienna started! She got a horrible cough but no temperature. Her cough was that bad that she couldn’t sleep very well for a couple of nights. They are both much better now and back to school.. The weather hasn’t helped either. It has been so cold lately! I literally feel frozen all the time. Thankfully it is looking better atm as the temperatures are starting to rise. I decided to get my flu vaccine, so I hope it protects me from all these viruses that are going around! Have you had the flu vaccine too? .On another note, I went yesterday to a parents meeting about GCSE options for Bella. I can’t believe she needs to think about it already ahead of Year 9. The time really goes fast.
