Wicked Musical London Review
Despite having seen the show before, each performance feels like a brand new adventure, thanks to the talented cast. The atmosphere in the theatre was amazing, the stage design was breath-taking, and the music was fantastic. I couldn’t help but sing along to iconic songs like “Defying Gravity,” “Popular,” and “For Good.”
Wicked is a musical with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and a book by Winnie Holzman. It is based on the 1995 Gregory Maguire novel Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West. The musical tells the story of Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West, and Glinda, the Good Witch of the North, and how their friendship was tested as they navigated the political and social upheaval of Oz.
Wicked has been a huge success since it premiered in 2003. It has won three Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and has been seen by over 55 million people worldwide. The musical is currently playing in London at the Apollo Victoria Theatre.
