I just wanted to write a quick post to just share some reflections that I have had recently. Remember that there will always be bad days and good days. You can’t just have only good days all the time because life is not like that! That wouldn’t be real! We are humans, and we make mistakes and these have repercussions sometimes and I’m not necessarily talking about your own mistake but also when others make mistakes that directly affect you too.
Have you ever experienced the feeling of happiness because things are going well and you are just enjoying that moment but then because of someone else’s mistake that feeling goes away completely and now instead of feeling on top of the world you suddenly feel you are at the bottom of it? Literally, a crash down to earth? Everything suddenly turns from a good day to a bad day. Have you felt like that?
I felt like that a few days ago. I don’t want to go into the details into why I felt like that because that is not the purpose of this post but what I would like to discuss here is that this type of feeling was there and I couldn’t avoid feeling that. What I would like to say and what I have been telling myself is that this type of feeling will not stay forever. I should remind myself that it is something temporary because as I said, life is like that, full of bad days and good days but nothing stays forever. We need to go through all these emotions (ups and downs like a rollercoaster) because that is part of being alive!
Now I must stress before proceeding that the issue was not romantically related so please don’t get the wrong idea. I’m more than happy with Nick, I couldn’t choose a better husband. It can sometimes be the simplest of things that can come from anywhere that can make you feel like that.
There is a phrase that I learned when I was 16 years old from the classic movie, “Gone with the Wind” starring Clark Gable as Rhett Butler and Vivien Leigh as Scarlett O’Hara. This is the context of the phrase:
“I can’t let him go. I can’t. There must be some way to bring him back. Oh, I can’t think about this now! I’ll go crazy if I do! I’ll think about it tomorrow. But I must think about it. I must think about it. What is there to do? What is there that matters? Tara! Home. I’ll go home. And I’ll think of some way to get him back. After all… tomorrow is another day!”
This phrase has always been stuck in my head since then and it is something that I’ve always repeated to my myself every time that things don’t go in the way I’ve planned them. You just have to fight and be persistent. Never stop thinking about and aiming for a positive outcome. Never stop trying to get a solution to your problem and most of all, never give up as the next day can be a better day! There is always a hope of knowing that after all… tomorrow is another day!!
Do you also have those days? What do you do? Do you also think things will be better the next day when you have a cleared head. Leave your comment below as I would love to know what you think.
Thanks for stopping by,
Love you all ❤️

Awww lovely, I hope you are ok and it was just the one off bad day. I hate days where everything is ok and that bam! It turns into the worse 🙁
Love the quote you shared 🙂 My favourite for days like that is “Through every dark night there is a brighter day” 🙂

This is so true and I hope that you are ok lovely. I always say we have to have tough times in order to have amazing times. Through the hard times we become grateful for what we do have, doesn’t always seem like it at the time. I always remember the phrase ‘this too shall pass’ when I am having a tough time xxx

I love this post Franca and you are absolutely right, tomorrow is another day and as hard as it might be sometimes, we should always try to be as positive as possible. Sometimes, being in a bad place can make you appreciate the good times even more. I think it it also important to think of the positives in each day despite any negatives (however major) there have been. A positive can be the really ‘little’ things that mean so much such as a hug from my children 🙂

I’m a sucker for this. Seriously, I’m like an emotional sponge! Around nice kind people I’m on top of the world but I go to pieces at the sight of someone saying something remotely disheartening or troublesome! If someone is cross the first thing that springs to mind is ‘what did I do?’. I’m slowly learning that people have their own shit going on and sometimes its overflows into other lives. And that’s ok if it needs to happen. I think just knowing that other people feel like this makes it all the more bearable, giving us confidence to develop those duck feathers… To wash those bad feelings right off and continue on our day xx

Very true and good advice (& hope your tomorrow has been a better day!) As a chronic procrastinator, I probably abuse that quote, though! #KCACOLS

HI THERE – HOPE YOUR TOMORROW WAS A BETTER DAY! I DEFINITELY TRY TO THINK LIKE THAT, ESPECIALLY NOW I HAVE TWO LITTLE ONES. I AM A BORN WORRIER SO I ALSO FIND MYSELF RECITING QUITE OFTEN TO MYSELF ‘IT DOESN’T MATTER’ IN ORDER TO STOP GETTING WOUND UP & BE MORE POSITIVE. I.E. TODDLER HAS GOT EVERY SINGLE TOY OUT IN HER ROOM AGAIN “IT DOESN’T MATTER”. WE’RE JUST ABOUT TO LEAVE AND BOTH DO A DIRTY NAPPY SO NOW WE’RE DEFINITELY GOING TO BE REALLY LATE “IT DOESN’T MATTER” – THAT SORT OF THING!

Really didn’t mean to be all shouty! I didn’t realise I had caps lock on and thought it was just a design thing with your blog!

I really hope you’re ok. Oh my I definitely get these days. It’s amazing how you can feel so amazing one moment and the smallest thing can shatter your bubble. When I’m feeling really low I find either a nice walk or googling lots of happy, inspiring quotes really helps to lift me out of things again. Sending lots of hugs! You’re such a beautiful person and I adore your blog, I’m glad you managed to turn things around again. xx

I’ m sorry to hear about your bad day(s)
Tomorrow is always something I think about and often wonder what it will bring. Life has taught me that ‘Tomorrow can only bring a fresh start if you address your issues today.’
I remember when I went travelling. Although I only done four months in Monaco, most of the fellow travellers I met, had a reason for not being at ‘home’. Although the new day brought us new experiences, the inevitable had to happen, because, at some stage, we all had to return home and face up to what had let us to ‘run away’ in the first place.

Hi Franca,
Lovely post and unfortunately I’m having one of those days today. We have lost of cat and been searching for him since Tuesday, but we found out today that he was hit by a car and didn’t make it. I feel heartbroken right now, but trying to remember all the good times we had with him. Maybe not tomorrow but soon will be better.
Thank you for hosting. #KCACOLS
