Boom Lab London Review: A Real-Life Video Game Experience in London
What Is Boom Lab London?
Boom Lab London is an immersive team-gaming experience comprising six interactive rooms. Each room presents a different challenge, combining physical movement, quick thinking, communication and problem-solving. Players work together against the clock, earning progress as they move through each stage.
Unlike traditional escape rooms, Boom Lab focuses on high-energy gameplay rather than being confined to a single space, making it ideal for those who want something more dynamic and playful.
What to Expect at Boom Lab London
The experience includes six themed rooms, each designed to test a different skill set. Some rooms focus on communication and quick thinking, while others are more physical and reaction-based. Throughout the experience, you will race against the clock as a team — dodging lasers, smashing glowing targets, solving puzzles and jumping across platforms.
- The journey begins with Blue Blur, a room focused on communication. Multiple screens display different pieces of information, and the only way to succeed is by sharing details clearly with your team.
- Next is Pink Panic, a fast-paced, high-energy challenge similar to a real-life Whack-a-Mole game. Glowing buttons light up and disappear within seconds, and you need quick reactions to smash them in time.
- In Yellow Yell, the focus shifts to aim and strategy. Players must think quickly and make split-second decisions to hit the correct targets, combining accuracy with problem-solving to move forward.
- The intensity increases in Red Reflex, where your agility and nerves are tested. You must dodge and weave through a maze of lasers, moving carefully and quickly to avoid getting hit as the difficulty ramps up.
- Then comes Orange Outrun, one of the most physically exciting rooms. Imagine “the floor is lava” brought to life, with platforms to jump between, keys to collect and fireballs flying.
- The absolute highlight, however, is the grand finale — Solara. Before entering, everyone gets changed into full protective gear from head to toe, building anticipation for what is about to happen. The final room delivers a huge paint-splash moment that is loud, colourful, messy and completely unexpected. It is, without a doubt, the most memorable part of the experience and what truly sets Boom Lab London apart from other immersive activities in the city
