Buying Awesome Toys From Wicked Uncle

amomentwithfranca · 22 July 2016 · 4 Comments

We were asked recently to review some toys from the amazing Wicked Uncle website. I have used this website several times before in the past since finding them via Google a few years ago. I was looking for some toys to buy to my niece and didn’t know what to get her, but when I found this website I found it was just perfect as it showed me what toys were cool for her age. I didn’t have a clue what to choose as I didn’t have children at the time so I found it super helpful. My niece loved her gift so I become a cool auntie and since then I have regularly used their website. Now I have my own children I use it to buy toys for my girls, so now I get to be a cool mum too, LOL!

I was so excited to be able to do a review for Wicked Uncle. As soon as I had the time to sit down with a nice cup of coffee I started navigating through their website. I wanted to get something for each of my girls or at least something that they could both play with. I also wanted to choose something different and cool for them, so I spent a fair chunk of time deciding what to get to my girls.

Navigating through their website was easy and simple.  They divide everything by age and gender because of that the starting point when searching for something for a child. However, they also allow you to search by area of interest. There is also an option to just search ‘ALL’ so you can see all the cool products they stock. They also help you by telling you what’s currently popular for the age and gender you are looking for.

They have the most accurate slogan, “Brilliant Children’s Presents” because they do have a really great selection of interesting and unusual presents as well as more conventional items. You can also send a handwritten card for a birthday, Christmas or a Christening. They will send it directly to the recipient and they will include a pre-filled Thank You postcard with your name and address on for the child to send back to you. How cool is that?

After searching for a while for two interesting and fun toys, I decided to choose the following items:

TOMY NOW BOARDING POLAR BEARS – IN THE BATH (£15.99)

Tomy Bath Toy 2

Tomy Bath Toy 3

This toy is just brilliant! It really brings a lot of fun to my girl’s bathtime. I ordered this toy thinking of Sienna of course but Bella also loves it. So I have both of them laughing and having a great time at bathtime thanks to this toy. Although sometimes I can hear some screams because they won’t wait for each other’s turns. Sienna is still too little to understand that she needs to play and share with her sister but overall this toy was a success at home

Tomy Bath Toy 5

These Polar Bears climb the ski lift and then zoom down the ski jump. Each bear has an individual look with a different coloured snowboard and hat. Press the button to send a polar bear up the ski lift, through the hut and down the ski jump, splashing into the bath below! It uses magnetic technology, so there’s no need for batteries and it has suckers to attach to the side of the bath.

Tomy Bath Toy 5

I was impressed with the technology of this toy. I didn’t know how they managed to make the polar bears move without batteries but then I understood it after reading the instructions. It is very clever. What I love the most is seeing how Sienna was absolutely amazed by this toy. That made my day.

Tomy Bath Toy 1

I filmed Sienna when she was playing with this toy. It is just so cute to see her laughing and enjoying it so much. You can see the video at the bottom of the post together with the other toy we bought.

JELLYFISH TANK MOOD LIGHT (£18.99)

Jellyfish Tank 1

Wow, this jellyfish tank was awesome. If you really want to impress a child this is really a good choice. They will love it for sure. I ordered this tank thinking more of Bella as I think this is definitely more for an older age range as you need to keep the tank in a flat area and not moving as it contains water. Of course with supervision, Sienna was very excited to see the jellyfishes moving around.

Jellyfish Tank 2

Your kids will watch these amazingly lifelike jellyfish glides around the tank as the mood light changes colour. This is what my girls found more fascinating: the change of colour. Even Nick and I were really impressed with it. It looks even better if you turn the lights off. The effect is even better.

WU Jellyfish Tank collage

It has a height of 24cm. The rounded tank holds two jellyfish which swim and glide around with realistic movement provided by jets of air moving the water inside the tank. The triple LED’s light up the tank in three different colours adding a soothing, relaxing feel. This could be great for adding some colour to a room.

Jellyfish Tank 4

Jellyfish Tank 3

This is perhaps the first step to having a real fish in a tank and it is easier than your standard goldfish as they don’t need feeding! 😉

Just note that this tank requires 3 x AA batteries which are not included. Bear this in mind if you buy this jellyfish tank as you don’t want to get disappointment faces,  so better include some batteries in your present if possible or have some at home just in case. Thankfully we had some batteries at home so we were able to test it straight away.

We also filmed the girls watching it. You can see a short video we filmed with my girls playing with the toys:

As I mentioned before, I love this website and I use it all the time. I will definitely recommend it to you. Give it a go as I know you will like it too. They also have a great customer service which I always like in a company. Their delivery service is also very good. You will have your order within 2 to 3 days. You will need to pay for the delivery which the minimum is about £2.95

You can find more about Wicked Uncle on Facebook, Twitter, browsing their photos on Instagram or browsing their boards on Pinterest.

What do you think of Wicked Uncle? Have you heard of or used them before? Leave a comment below as I would like to read what you think.

*Disclosure: We were given a voucher code to use to order these toys in exchange for this review. However, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Thanks for stopping by,

Love you all ❤️

My son has the polar bear toy and whilst it is brilliant he finds it a bit hard to pull the knob down. Although I love the products on Wicked Uncle I can’t stand the gendering of toys. Emma

I have been trying to keep eating a good breakfast every morning to help me with my low iron! .Most days I have branflakes and sometimes weetabix but Fridays to Sundays, I make a little effort and prepare overnight oats. ✨Teacher’s Strike Day✨.Happy hump day! So ✨Teacher’s Strike Day✨.Happy hump day! So we have our first teacher’s strike day today which means no school and learning from home..Bella is doing her school work via Google classroom so she will follow her normal school day that way and Sienna doesn’t have a structured day from school today so she should have a day off but we have agreed for her to do some work too, so she will be reading, practicing for her spelling test and doing some maths. This way we can all have a productive day 😉, well hopefully! 😬. Have you been affected by the strike today? ✨Happy Friday✨.Did you have a good week? Unf ✨Happy Friday✨.Did you have a good week? Unfortunately, it wasn’t that good for us because the girls have been under the weather. Bella started first with a sore throat and high fever for a few days and then when Bella got better, Sienna started! She got a horrible cough but no temperature. Her cough was that bad that she couldn’t sleep very well for a couple of nights. They are both much better now and back to school.. The weather hasn’t helped either. It has been so cold lately! I literally feel frozen all the time. Thankfully it is looking better atm as the temperatures are starting to rise. I decided to get my flu vaccine, so I hope it protects me from all these viruses that are going around! Have you had the flu vaccine too? .On another note, I went yesterday to a parents meeting about GCSE options for Bella. I can’t believe she needs to think about it already ahead of Year 9. The time really goes fast. Are your kids dealing with GCSEs too?.📸 Sharing this beautiful bouquet of flowers from @freddiesflowers to brighten up our day.#flowerarrangement #flowerdelivery #bouquetofflowers #flowersmakemehappy #loveflowers #flowersoftheday #flowersoftheweek #flowerlover #freshflowers #flowerobsession #bunchofflowers #foreverflowers #flowersofinstagram #homesweethome
