Car Sleuth – Helping You Buy Your Next Car!

amomentwithfranca · 18 June 2019 · 15 Comments

With the kids soon out of school, summer holidays are fast approaching. Hoorah!! But if your holidays involve any type of driving and you still haven’t gotten around to replacing your old car, you might be dreading the long hours you’ll be spending on the road. But who has the time and energy to schlep around all the car dealers during these last few precious weekends?

Not only that but buying a new or used car can be a really intimidating experience, particularly when you don’t know your carburettor from your car bonnet and also researching all the options before opening the pages of AutoTrader can be a real challenge.

However, I have great news for you. Car Sleuth is a new business designed to make that daunting experience a positive one, by doing it all for you – brilliant right!

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT CAR SLEUTH

How did it all begin?

Scott – Owner of Car Sleuth

After hearing too many examples of friends or colleagues who didn’t have the time to research the market and then felt pressured when finally making a purchase, Scott (owner of Car Sleuth) knew that he could help. Thanks to his lifelong passion for all cars and having undertaken auto mechanic courses, he has the expertise to help you find the perfect family load-lugger, the ideal city car or your dream weekend sports car!

Who have you helped?

Recently he helped a family replace their old diesel Audi with a new hybrid. They were becoming increasingly concerned about the rising costs of driving a diesel in central London but didn’t know where to begin. Thanks to his enthusiasm, they actually found the whole process to be quite fun! The hassle had been completely removed, and they were thrilled. Whoever thought that buying a car could be actually fun!

Another couple had deliberated over what kind of car to buy for nearly a year. They were definitely not car people! Just one week after contacting Scott they were driving into the sunset in a shiny new car – a model they had never previously considered – that also included getting them a great price for their 15-year-old estate! Overjoyed, they’ve been telling everyone about Car Sleuth.

How does the service work?

The service works very simply. After asking you specific questions, Scott will spend a couple of days shortlisting suitable cars by order of preference and present this list to you with his reasoning behind the choices.

In the case of a used car purchase, the shortlisted car dealerships will be vetted and the cars personally inspected by him once confirmed by you; whilst any new car dealerships will be based at a showroom conveniently located near your home or office.

He will organise test drives at times that are convenient for you and they’ll be undertaken with him alongside. Once a decision has been made to purchase the car, he will negotiate the final price for you! He can also run through the pros and cons of the various financing options that are available, too. He actively encourages people to ask him as many questions as possible – He loves cars so he is always happy to talk about them!

How much do you charge for your service?

Unlike other car buying services across the UK, he doesn’t get paid by the car dealer. This more common payment method could lead to favouritism towards one brand or dealer rather than ensuring you get the right vehicle for your needs. With this difference in mind and appreciating that it’s better for you to know his fees up front, Car Sleuth’s car buying services start from £500 depending on the price of the car, paid in two instalments: a £100 retainer and the balance paid upon completion of the car purchase. His fee is typically recouped in the car price negotiation, so he would say that this is money well spent!

If you are considering changing your car and perhaps don’t have the time or the knowledge to get a good deal, you can contact Scott from Car Sleuth and he will be more than happy to help you find your new car.

Do you find the whole experience of changing a new car daunting too?

✨ Cat Cafe In London✨.📍Bella and I went t ✨ Cat Cafe In London✨.📍Bella and I went to @javawhiskersuk , a cat cafe located in @westfieldlondon . This was my present for Mother’s Day from her🌸.🌟 Before we went inside, we had to go to a separate room to wash our hands and remove our shoes..🐾 They have 2 different rooms: the Cat Lounge and the Kitten Lounge and you can choose to stay from 55 mins to 1hr 55 mins. The prices vary depending on the room you choose and the length of time..🍰 When we stepped inside the room we were greeted by a group of gorgeous kittens. We ordered (before we went inside the room) a latte and a delicious chocolate muffin with chocolate melted inside that was so good. This was served to us in the room while we were surrounded by these adorable kittens..🐱 We spent 55 mins playing and petting the kittens. They were so cute. We loved interacting with them..🥰 Their cafe is also a foster home for homeless cats so if you are looking to adopt one, this is the place to visit! They have had 230 successful adoptions already! 🙌🏻.🚨 The only downside is that you have to be over 10 years old in order to be allowed inside the rooms 😬.🐈 If you are a cat lover like us, I highly recommend you visit Java Whiskers! It is the perfect place to unwind and relax with these beautiful kittens! 🙌🏻.Have you visited a Cat Cafe before? 🐈‍⬛ .#javawhiskers #catcafe #catcafelondon #londoncafe #westfieldlondon #londondayout #daysout #thingstodoinlondon #newplaces #londonguide #lovecats😻 #catsofinstagram #catloversday #londonthingstodo #whatsonlondon

✨My Girls✨.Due to the strikes we had Sienna ✨My Girls✨.Due to the strikes we had Sienna at home yesterday and today, and Bella only today. I thought it would be very chaotic but despite it always being louder when the girls are at home, especially my youngest one, lol, we did well..Bella did school work at home today and had the afternoon free. Sienna didn’t do school work. We only asked her to carry on doing Spanish and Maths via Duolingo. She also had Spanish lessons this afternoon (every Thursday she has lessons) so both days were manageable thankfully 😍.How was it for you? Did your kids stay at home or did they go to school? .PS: let’s hope things get better for teachers. I am not sure why it hit me so much this time but it has taken me about two solid weeks to properly be back to my routine without feeling right. Waking up in the mornings was the worst. It was very hard, especially when I had to be on time for the school run! 😩.Anyway, everything feels better now! 😊.How long does it take you to be back to normal after a jetlag? Do you have any tricks or tips to speed this process? .📸 Selfy taken in Barranco, a lively district in Peru considered to be one of the most romantic and bohemian places to visit and being the home and working place of many Peruvian artists, musicians, designers, photographers among others 😎.#thisisme #selfie #instaselfie #smilemore #brunettehair #greeneyes #over40#over40blogger #overforty #overfortystyle #over40andfabulous #over40mom #outandabout #barrancolima

✨Peruvian Suspiro Limeño✨."Suspiro Limeño" ✨Peruvian Suspiro Limeño✨."Suspiro Limeño" is one of my favourite Peruvian desserts. When I was In Peru, I of course, made sure to have it not only once but several times 😉.This dessert is made of manjar blanco (milk, sugar, almond flour, egg yolks, vanilla) and meringue (egg whites, port, cinnamon) 😘.The history behind this dessert starts with Amparo Ayarza who was the creator. Her husband, José Gálvez Barrenechea was a poet and was the one who gave it its name. The poet called it "Suspiro de Limeña", which means, 'Sigh of a Lima lady', because it is soft and sweet like the sigh of a woman. Love this 🥰.Have you ever tried "Suspiro Limeño"? Or have you heard of it before? Would you try it? .📸 Picture taken @panchitasazoncriolla in Lima that has one of the best versions of this dessert 🙌🏻.#suspirolimeño #peruviandessert #meringue #merengue #desserttime #dessertlover #dessertpic #dessertgram #peruvianfood #cocinaperuana #gastronomiaperuana #perufood #peruviancousine #whatisfordessert #dessertsofinstagram
