amomentwithfranca · 23 October 2020 · 11 Comments

When most of us were kids, the idea of a mobile phone wasn't something that we considered. We might have got our first phones when we were in our teens, but they were purely functional, we could make calls and send texts, but we had to pay for everything, and Snake was the height … [Read more...] about Finding the Right Mobile Phone for Your Child

The ocean makes me feel happy! Just the feeling of putting my feet under the water brings me happiness, makes me feel content, fulfilled. It is just magical how nature can make you feel so centred. We definitely need to be more connected with nature and in order to do that we need to start protecting it, starting with our ocean. ⁣
⁣
I know this is not a selfie of the ocean but this is me having a moment that I really enjoyed in the ocean ❤️⁣

The ocean is our greatest hope in tackling climate change as it absorbs over 90% of heat and almost a third of all carbon dioxide that humans have ever produced. BUT right now our ocean is in crisis.⁣

I was so excited when @atelier_rosemood_uk got in contact again to try their personalised calendars. I love calendars because I like to get organised and ahead of what is coming but I love personalised calendars even more because they reminded me of special moments that I would like to keep alive.

2020 was an interesting year for all of us but it was full of lovely memories too. I love taking photos and I have so many photos from last year that I loved putting them together to personalise my calendar. Each month has 5 photos that made those months special and memorable, so every time I look at them I will remember them.

I have also added photos to important dates like birthdays, our wedding anniversary, mother’s day, father’s days, etc. I enjoyed every single minute of putting it together and I am loving the final results. The cover is so elegant too.

𝕊𝕨𝕚𝕡𝕖 𝕝𝕖𝕗𝕥 𝕥𝕠 𝕙𝕒𝕧𝕖 𝕒 𝕔𝕝𝕠𝕤𝕖𝕣 𝕝𝕠𝕠𝕜. 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙙𝙤 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙠?

They also have photobooks, invitations and cards, photo prints, personalised notebooks and more. They are all high quality and will make a great gift for family and friends. Please check them out as you won’t be disappointed. 𝙎𝙬𝙞𝙥𝙚 𝙪𝙥 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙠 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙢𝙮 𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙗𝙧𝙤𝙬𝙨𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙬𝙚𝙗𝙨𝙞𝙩𝙚 𝙤𝙧 𝙘𝙡𝙞𝙘𝙠 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙠 𝙞𝙣 𝙢𝙮 𝙗𝙞𝙤.

Wow, what a week! 🥴 I am so happy that today is finally Friday and homeschooling is done! 🙌🏻 It has been a hard week with ups and downs. I struggled throughout but I am feeling so happy that week two of this lockdown is now over! 𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙨?⁣
⁣
I have been very quiet here as I decided to prioritise homeschooling. I am trying to see how I can organize my day in a way that I can get some work done too. This is still work in progress so I hope I can improve this slightly in the upcoming weeks. 🤞🏻 ⁣
⁣
📸 My girls had to do a creative challenge at school and I thought this challenge was lovely so I wanted to share it with you. They had to “𝙎𝙝𝙤𝙬 𝙎𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙃𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨” so they came up with the idea of doing a big heart split into 2 and one half had the word “be” written on it and the other one had the word “happy” and when they put it together they will “𝐛𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲”. I thought that was lovely and it made me happy. 😊⁣

I am feeling exhausted and it is only day 2 of week 2 of this lockdown 😩 Yesterday I just couldn’t cope anymore. I had a massive headache and just went straight to bed after I finished homeschooling. Today I woke up much better but still feel much of my energy is gone by the time we finish with the school timetable. ⁣
⁣
I am struggling to do anything else beside homeschooling which is a big issue for me because I cannot do any work. I just need to find a way I can manage to catch up with my work too. ⁣
𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙙𝙤 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙜𝙪𝙮𝙨 𝙙𝙤 𝙞𝙩? 𝘼𝙣𝙮 𝙩𝙞𝙥𝙨?⁣

I know that each day will be different and there will be good days and bad days so we just have to keep going. At the moment my only motivation is to keep counting the days towards Friday, so then I can literally do nothing during the weekend 🤣⁣
⁣
Sending love to all the parents out there! ❤️⁣

We are now ready to start homeschooling again tomorrow! We had a couple of parent Zoom meetings today with the teachers explaining how the term will be and it has been helpful to listen to their expectations.⁣
⁣
I am homeschooling my eldest who is in Year 6 and my youngest who is in Year 2, so both timetables are different but they both follow the same structure. The only problem is that their breaks and lunch times are not at the same time but this was the same last time so we will try to accommodate the times somehow.⁣
⁣
One of the things that we discussed was to try to get some time to get out and get some fresh air to help with our mental health. We will inevitably be spending more time indoors so allocating one hour per day for this will be very important. ⁣
⁣
Another interesting thing we discussed is that the girls will not have homework for the weekends so we can all have a break which I am sure will be needed! ⁣
⁣
I know most of you have already started homeschooling and I can see you have survived your first days already so there is hope right? As I said before, we have done this once so we can do this again! 💪🏻⁣
⁣
📸 This photo was taken exactly a year ago when we visited Brighton. We met there with @zenassuitcase and @mudpiefridays and their families and we had a fabulous time. Such a lovely memory! Right now I am just dreaming of the idea of travelling and hugging people again! 🤗⁣

The girls are still on holidays until Thursday, so we are enjoying the last days before we go back to homeschooling again! I am not going to lie, I am dreading it but we are getting our minds on it so we start off on the right foot. ⁣
⁣
Today we got up on time and I asked the girls to do some activities to start getting into a routine. We also checked we got all the equipment they need up to date. Bella got a new Ipad for Christmas and Sienna got a small new laptop which will be very handy for their remote learning. ⁣
⁣
We still don’t know what the new restrictions will be in place later today but there are some rumours that a national lockdown is a possibility. I personally feel the sooner we do this, the sooner we could get out of it, especially when the vaccines are starting to roll out. ⁣
⁣
If you are also homeschooling, I wish you the best! We can do this! 💪🏻⁣

We can finally say goodbye to 2020 and welcome 2021 with open arms! 🤗⁣
⁣
Even though 2020 was a crazy year, I must admit that some parts were positive like being able to spend more time together. We have definitely enjoyed being closer as a family. ❤️⁣
⁣
It was sad to see so many of our trips cancelled last year but we are so grateful that we managed to go to Crete during the summer. It was a last minute decision and it paid off so well. We had the best time and we enjoyed every single minute of it. So much that we even extended our stay 😃⁣
⁣
We are now hoping for 2021 to be a better year as we are desperate to be able to travel freely again. We would love to be able to be spontaneous again without having to worry about ten thousand restrictions and being able to meet people again, especially being able to hug again. 🤗⁣
⁣
I know a few of us haven’t started the New Year how we hoped as sadly we will need to go back to homeschooling again 😳. This is in my head constantly at the moment and I am worried I will struggle again but I am trying to be positive and keep telling myself: “If I did it once, I can do it again”. Let’s just hope this time it’s for a shorter time. 🤞🏻⁣
⁣
Finally, my family and I would like to say 𝙏𝙃𝘼𝙉𝙆 𝙔𝙊𝙐 so much for following our journey during 2020, for all your likes, shares and comments! Your support means so much for us! 🙏🏻⁣

Only one more sleep to Christmas now! I am actually feeling very excited despite the world being upside down. I guess keeping my girls excited and seeing them smile is what keeps me going. 𝘼𝙧𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙚𝙭𝙘𝙞𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙤𝙤?⁣
⁣
We normally celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve as it is how we do it in Peru. But this year we decided to move this tradition to Christmas Day and have a mix of both cultures together. ⁣
⁣
Tonight we will have a late Zoom call with my family and wait until midnight to wish each other Merry Christmas. We normally open presents by midnight in Peru so in order to keep some of my traditions alive, I always let the girls open one or two presents each. They will open the remaining presents tomorrow morning on Christmas Day. I love that my girls enjoy celebrating the Peruvian way too! 😉 𝘿𝙤 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙖𝙡𝙨𝙤 𝙘𝙚𝙡𝙚𝙗𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝘾𝙝𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙢𝙖𝙨 𝙤𝙣 𝘾𝙝𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙢𝙖𝙨 𝙀𝙫𝙚?⁣

They got a message from Santa allowing them to touch the elves for their last day so they have been playing with them all afternoon! They were so excited! Bless them! ⁣
⁣
We will also leave carrots for the reindeers and a hot chocolate and a mince pie for Santa. The girls insisted that we should leave hand sanitizer and a mask for Santa too ! This just summarises what 2020 has meant to kids right? 👉🏻 masks and hand sanitizers! 😳 ⁣
⁣
I know this year won’t be the same. So many of us are in Tier 4 and won’t be able to see our family but I hope that everyone will have a wonderful day and do the best to enjoy it! We will be filling our day with lots of Zoom calls! 😉⁣
