Recently I took a little trip up to Convent Garden with Bella to get my eyes checked at Tom Davies Bespoke Opticians. I love taking Bella to Central London because she enjoys every single minute of it. It is really nice to get some mummy daughter time once in a while and this was a great opportunity.
That day, the weather was lovely! I think we had like 32 degrees and it was so sunny so our day was even more enjoyable. We took the tube to Covent Garden and we arrived there straight away.

We love all the activities that were around and it was a lovely atmosphere. Tom Davies is located about 5 minutes from the station so it was very easy and quick to get there.

The staff were lovely and they fully explained the procedure that I was going to have. Little Bella was very excited to be with me as she wanted to see all the big ZEISS machines they had inside the room where they do the eye examinations.
Eye Examination
I was getting an eye test and learning all about my eye health and the new technology available to help examine our eyes a little more in depth to make sure they are in the best health they can be.
I didn’t realise how important it was to keep up with eye tests even if you don’t need to wear glasses. During my test, I was amazed at the technology and the equipment used to give my eyes a thorough check up to make sure nothing was missed. I was really impressed by the examination and the service I received. I felt like my eyes were definitely being looked after.

During my examination ZEISS equipment was used to check my eye health. In particular optical coherence tomography was used to scan the layers of my retina to check their health and condition. The technology is sophisticated it can detect eye diseases such as glaucoma as well as any system vascular and neurological conditions that manifest in the eyes.
A ZEISS i.Profiler Plus was also used to perform a corneal topography to map the surface of my eyes. This shows up any abnormalities present in my eyes. This is important for getting the most accurate prescription possible for any glasses so you can get the maximum benefit from wearing the correct lenses. Also, they performed many tests to check for things such as glaucoma, dry eyes, eye diseases or any other conditions which can affect your sight!
Tom Davies Bespoke Service
One thing I did like was the bespoke service for customising the size and fit of your glasses so they fit perfectly to your face and features. But did you know that most standard lenses don’t offer any protection against UV Light? We all know the importance of keeping our bodies and skin healthy and protected from the sun, but what about your eyes? Have you ever thought about protecting your eyes from sun damage? We may wear sunglasses in the summer but is that enough and are our eyes being protected like they need to be? Especially with the gorgeous sunny weather, we have been experiencing lately!

As soon as they gave them to me, I fell in love immediately because they are so different to anything else I have had in the past. They are modern, unique and trendy looking as well as having ZEISS UV Protect Technology, so what else can I ask for?
I had a great time at Tom Davies, the staff are so lovely and they were so caring towards us. They even gave both my girls (eventhough little Sienna wasn’t there) a bag of sweets! How nice is that? I actually found out that my eyes were very dry, so I am now using eye drops to help and the glasses are helping me too! My vision is actually good just need it for the laptop. X

I started wearing glasses very young…and then had LASIK. I did start wearing glasses again a few years ago for computer work and just got some snazzy purple frames 🙂 Love your choice! #KCACOLS

It looks as though you had a lovely day together with Bella. I didn’t realise that you could get UV protection on clear glass either. I have to wear reading glasses now for small type and threading a needle, I was a bit upset when I realised my eyes were deteriorating due to my age! Thankfully we have these great resources to help us take care of our eyesight now. #kcacols
