Flexispot Cycle Desk Bike V9 Pro Review

amomentwithfranca · 21 February 2022 · 7 Comments

Working from home comes with pros and cons. We have pros such as working from the comfort of your home, being able to work around your kid’s school times and overall being more flexible with your hours. However, we also have cons such as the lack of movement. You are not as active as you would like to be as you are not commuting to work anymore. Due to the pandemic, this has been a big problem for many people like my husband. He now has to think of different ways to bring that missed activity back to his daily life. This applies to me too as I stopped attending events, so no more commutes to Central London either.

We definitely aim to be more active and therefore fit and healthy, so the Cycle Desk Bike V9 Pro kindly sent by Flexispot was a fantastic way to achieve that. And the Cycle Desk Bike V9 Pro was not just used by Nick and me but also by my girls who are even more obsessed with it than us. We actually have to take turns in order to use it!

About Flexispot Cycle Desk Bike V9 Pro

The Flexispot Cycle Desk Bike V9 Pro is a part standing desk and a part exercise bike. It promotes good health helping our body to stay productive and prevents prolonged sedentary sitting as well as helps you combine your work with healthy activity and it ensures your exercise equipment doesn’t sit unused for months.

You can choose to have the bike with the desk or without the desk which in that case you can put under your work desk. We haven’t done this as we find the desk very useful as you can move it around the flat and have an extra desk to use.

Setting Up The Flexispot Cycle Desk Bike V9 Pro

The Flexispot Cycle Desk Bike V9 Pro arrived in 2 two separate boxes: one box for the desk and one box for the bike, bolt, hex key, coaster, pedal cover and instructions.

Despite being heavy, the assembly is straightforward and quick. You don’t need extra tools. Simply attach the desktop to the bike screwing in one bolt using the supplied hex key, outspread the 4 legs of the bike base until it is fully extended, outspread both the left and right pedals and slip the pedal cover into each pedal.

The bike also comes with a cup holder anti-skid pad to place on top of the battery compartment. Even though you have this option for your drinks, I must admit that I haven’t used it as I prefer to put my drinks on the desk but it is nice to know you have this extra space for drinks if you need it.

In order for the LCD Display to work, you will need to add two AA batteries which are not included. To turn on the LCD Display, you will need to press the Key Button. You will then see six activity readings: TMR (Timer), SPD (Speed), DIS (distance), CAL (calories), ODO (odometer) and RPM (revolutions per minute).

The LCD display will turn off when pedalling stops for more than 4 minutes. To reactivate the LCD display, start pedalling again or press the key button. The readout (SCAN) will cycle through each display one by one every 5 seconds.

Flexispot Cycle Desk Bike V9 Pro Main Features

  • Adjustable desktop with forward, backward, up and down adjustments for sitting or standing positions
  • Comfortable PU cushion
  • Exercise digital display
  • Gas spring equipped height-adjustable seat
  • 8 resistance levels
  • Easy-rolling casters transport the desk bike from room to room with ease, plus gravity sensor wheel locks that keep it from moving while you cycle
  • Foldable and whisper-quiet peddling system
  • Foldable space-saving feet

Using The Flexispot Cycle Desk Bike V9 Pro

Pneumatic Adjustment Lever

It also comes with a pneumatic adjustment lever to adjust the seat to your height. Proper seat adjustment is essential to a comfortable ride when using the desk bike. If your leg is too straight or your foot cannot touch the pedal, you will need to move the seat down. If your leg is bent too much, you will need to move the seat up by lifting up your hip and pressing the handlebar. The seat handlebar is located below the seat.

I am short (160 cms) so I left it at the lowest level. This way I was able to comfortably reach the pedals. But Nick is very tall (187 cms) so he had to lift the seat upwards higher than my position. The good news is that it should accommodate most people’s heights.

The seat itself is very wide and comfortable. I can easily be for longer periods of time there without feeling numb. I like that is bigger than a normal bike seat size.

Spacious Desktop

I really like the desktop. It is very comfortable to work on and this is due to the polyurethane (PU) cushion located at the border of the desk. It feels very nice to be able to position my arms there while I am doing some work.  As I mentioned above you can remove the table and put it underneath a desk.

I think it is very spacious. I can easily fit my laptop, a notepad, pens, my mobile and a bottle of water. My girls like to do their homework there, so they have enough space for their books, notepads and pencil case.

This desk has been great to use instead of laying on the sofa. I am not going to lie and say that I don’t lay down on the sofa anymore because it is not true but being less time is the sofa is always a good start.

To make it easy to read at a comfortable eye distance while cycling, the desktop can be adjusted forward or backwards. Simply press the left handlebar below the desktop to adjust it backwards and forward. You can also adjust the height of the desk. It is very easy to adjust.

Magnetic Resistance Adjustment

The Flexispot Cycle Desk Bike V9 Pro has eight resistance levels in increments from 1 to 8, with level 8 offering the most resistance.

I normally leave it in 3 as I find that resistance pretty well while I am doing my work. If I use the bike to focus more on burning calories, I then increase the resistance.

Whisper-Quiet Operation

The bike is pretty quiet itself. When you ride it, you won’t hear any noise. The only problem is the LCD Display noise which can be a little bit loud as it makes a noise every time you touch it but if you don’t touch the buttons this will not happen.

Healthy Benefits With The Flexispot Cycle Desk Bike V9 Pro

Having the option to pedalling while doing your work brings great health benefits. I can not increase my activity level and be able to increase the calories I burn. I love checking the total calories I burn and the total steps I have done daily through my Apple Watch and using the Cycle Desk Bike V9 Pro has definitely helped to close my rings quicker which is always a highlight for me.

Being sitting down for longer periods of time is really bad for you so being able to keep your body moving is fantastic. If you use the bike consistently you will get great results as you can burn quite a lot of calories.

Price And Where To Buy The Flexispot Cycle Desk Bike V9 Pro

The Flexispot Cycle Desk Bike V9 Pro costs £399.99 and you can purchase it via the Flexispot website. Always check them out as they have sales all the time, for example at the moment they are promoting a ‘Say Goodbye to Sedentary Life sale’ until 28th February so you can get this bike for £359.99, saving £40.

I know it is not cheap considering there are other cheaper options out there but I really like the design of this bike. It is very comfortable.

The Flexispot Cycle Desk Bike V9 Pro is also available on Amazon.

Our Thoughts

To be very honest with you, at the start I was a little bit hesitant about having this bike because I was worried about the size. We live in a small flat so I was concerned about where to put it and how much space it will take. I even considered selling it if it would have not suited us. However, I am so glad I decided t give it a go as we are all pretty much in love with this bike.

I never thought my girls would be fighting to use it first! It is amazing how much they love using it. My youngest is the one that loves pedalling when she is watching the tv. I love that as I like that she is being active. As I mentioned above they also like doing their homework there so they take turns.

I personally love using it to get my 30 minutes intense cycle in the morning. My goal is to burn calories so I try to use a higher resistance. During the rest of the day, I use it while working but tend to be light resistance as I want to focus on my work rather than sweat. So if I stay longer I will still burn calories.

It is an excellent way to improve your activity levels while doing other worlds. It has been fantastic when we all had to stay indoors due to Covid isolation.

I appreciate it is big equipment and pricy so it is, of course, a personal choice to commit to it but if you are like me you would love it and would feel that it is a great investment. The health benefits are fantastic. I also love that you can move it around very easily which is very handy when you need space.

Have you thought of getting a desk bike before?

Maybe it would work for super fit people but unfit people like me can sweat a lot when exercising – I’m not sure the desk part would be a good place for stuff if sweat was dripping on it

✨Peruvian Suspiro Limeño✨."Suspiro Limeño" ✨Peruvian Suspiro Limeño✨."Suspiro Limeño" is one of my favourite Peruvian desserts. When I was In Peru, I of course, made sure to have it not only once but several times 😉.This dessert is made of manjar blanco (milk, sugar, almond flour, egg yolks, vanilla) and meringue (egg whites, port, cinnamon) 😘.The history behind this dessert starts with Amparo Ayarza who was the creator. Her husband, José Gálvez Barrenechea was a poet and was the one who gave it its name. The poet called it "Suspiro de Limeña", which means, 'Sigh of a Lima lady', because it is soft and sweet like the sigh of a woman. Love this 🥰.Have you ever tried "Suspiro Limeño"? Or have you heard of it before? Would you try it? .📸 Picture taken @panchitasazoncriolla in Lima that has one of the best versions of this dessert 🙌🏻.#suspirolimeño #peruviandessert #meringue #merengue #desserttime #dessertlover #dessertpic #dessertgram #peruvianfood #cocinaperuana #gastronomiaperuana #perufood #peruviancousine #whatisfordessert #dessertsofinstagram
