    • 2) Seahouses North Beach
    • 3) Hunmanby Gap
    • 4) Embleton Bay
  • Conclusion

1) Sandsend Beach

A beautiful sunrise at Sandsend Beach, Whitby, North Yorkshire, England, UK

This clean, sandy beach is located in Yorkshire, between Runswick Bay and Whitby. Two small rivers on either side distinguish this beach from others, as do its great views down the coast towards the ancient ruins of Whitby Abbey.

It’s a long beach and, if you enjoy a good walk, you can trek for an hour and a half to Whitby. You’ll find plenty of places to sit along the way. And there’s plenty of parking available in the main car park near the end of the beach.

2) Seahouses North Beach

This sandy beach is situated on the Northumberland coast, between Bamburgh Castle and Beadnell. Its gentle slopes lead to a beautiful backdrop of grassy dunes and rocky outcrops.

It’s a popular attraction for tourists, birdwatchers, and sea anglers alike, thanks to the variety of wildlife you can see there – including puffins, seals, porpoises, dolphins, and whales. There are also boat rides available, which take passengers out to the Farne Islands.

3) Hunmanby Gap

You can find this long, sandy beach just to the south of Filey in Yorkshire. It’s known for being incredibly clean, unspoiled, and quiet, making it a real hidden gem among British beaches.

The views here are breathtaking. Majestic, white-chalk cliffs line the shores and the golden sands stretch as far as the eye can see. It’s also a dog-friendly beach and fairly well catered to, thanks to the local café and its friendly and helpful staff.

4) Embleton Bay

This lengthy stretch of clean and golden sand stretches for miles along the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It overlooks the ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle, one of the grandest fortifications ever built in Northern England.

The beach is easily accessible from Embleton village via a road that leads down. You can enjoy the waves, walk the length of the beach to the ruins, or watch the wide variety of seasonal birds that come here.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the North of England has some of the most stunning beaches in the country, and Sandsend, Seahouses North Beach, Hunmanby Gap, and Embleton Bay are just a few of the best. Don’t forget though that our island is surrounded by water which means there are beaches everywhere! The Wirral peninsular is akin to an island within our island and is surrounded by great beaches (see this article on beaches in Wirral).

Whether you’re looking for a peaceful day by the sea or an adventure-filled beach holiday, these beaches offer something for everyone. So, get planning and head to one of these beautiful destinations to soak up the sun and enjoy all the North of England has to offer!

The next time you’re planning a beach day, make sure you consider the best beaches in the North of England. Which of the beaches above would you most like to visit? What are your best beaches in the North Of England? Please share your thoughts with us in the comments section!
