We spend many evenings watching lawyers conquer New York, Chicago or London with their fancy sheath dresses and stiletto heels, sixteen-year-olds dressed as if they were on an LFW catwalk just to go to school. If we think about our normal daily look, a bit of discouragement comes, and sometimes we feel sad about it. But this shouldn’t be the case.
It’s normal that our daily look privileges comfort and practicality. Everything we see is just fiction, not reality. In addition to that, there is still this idea that to dress “well” you have to be elegant, you have to wear heels, you have to be uncomfortable, behind the old saying “If you want to look beautiful you have to suffer a little”. However, if you keep reading, you will learn how to wear jumpsuits and look incredible at the same time.
What does “comfy” mean? A bit of history
It was the mid-seventies when Armani with its collections started a new way of life: the unstructured.
In those years, as we know from our history books or stories of our parents and grandparents, everything has been questioned: from roles society, politics, and thoughts. There was no order, a general riot, which of course affected the fashion too.
It was time to abandon the artifice for simplification, to decontextualise the garment from its origin and to demystify bourgeois customs. It started an era where fashion became more and more comfy, which means being comfortable and relaxed.
Comfy-Chic Outfits
What do you consider the ultimate comfort? We would say the jumpsuit. How can you wear it being trendy and not sloppy at all?
First, it is important to choose sportswear that suits us. For larger hips, we suggest more flared trousers and a sweatshirt that marks the waist. Otherwise, something more adherent but the most important thing is no sweatshirts with elastic at the bottom. Use no more than three colours and recall them with your accessories. For example, you have black, grey and red sneakers, which use the same colours in the look, even if only slightly hinted at. You should start with the shoes because they are often the ones to be very colourful.
Unless your work involves sweating constantly there is no reason why you cannot put makeup, a tidy face (even with a makeup no-makeup) and well-groomed hair will immediately do wonders.
Jeans or Jumpsuit? What if we say both? How? Keep reading!
Don’t completely discard your jeans, they must fit very well, the size must be right and there must be no creases anywhere. The folds that form on the calf or ankle make the look very sloppy. If you love them but don’t want to give up the cosiness of the jumpsuit, check Freddy’s online store. These are very special pants because you can feel them like a second skin. They can be denim-looking but a cotton jumpsuit by “heart”. They also can give you an amazing shape thanks to the WR.UP technology, a mix between quality, sewing and material that gives a very impressive result. Find out more on the WR.UP technology and choose the style of trouser that best suit your taste.
Whether your super-comfortable look is jumpsuit or a Freddy jean, don’t forget the power that a bag has. Of course, if you wear leggings and sneakers with a colour sweatshirt, a leather bag is a bit out of tune (unless it’s black) but a smooth matte canvas bag is definitely fine.
What about the coat?
Here you have a wide choice, remember that a coat immediately pulls on everything, as well as a trench, while a down jacket or a sports jacket doesn’t.
So what is your comfortable outfit to wear at all times? We choose super soft Freddy jeans, white sneakers and sweatshirt with a trench coat!
