We are so excited to receive a track set from GEOMAG to review which actually couldn’t come at a better time as we are looking for ideas for Christmas gifts for the girls. We got the Mechanics Gravity Loops & Turns where you can build a circuit driven by the invisible forces of magnetism and gravity.
About GEOMAG
GEOMAG was invented and patented in 1998 in Switzerland. It was the first magnetic construction system with incredible performance. Simple elements, such as magnetic rods and metal spheres, are held together by a magical force of attraction to build amazing structures, unleashing creativity and imagination as you play.
Their products have been awarded the STEM-approved TM certification by stem.org affirming the quality and value of their toys. STEM refers to Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths. The series helps children of all ages to develop imagination and curiosity through the science of magnetic constructions
They also care about the future of our environment so they make every effort to ensure they run a responsible and sustainable business using materials from recycled plastic.
About Mechanics Gravity Loops & Turns Set
Mechanics is the construction platform that combines the forces of magnetism with a world of mechanical construction, to stimulate creativity, inventiveness and ingenuity. GEOMAG Mechanics adds mechanical elements within the constructions, so some parts of the structures are able to rotate, triggering chain reactions from the magnetic attraction and repulsion.
The magnetic cannon uses the force of attraction to accelerate and push the spheres. The movement is generated without the use of electric motors or batteries which is very cool to watch. You will learn the basics of magnetism and use them to create controlled magnetic reactions stimulating creativity, imagination and intellect. Impressive right?
Playing with this means knowing and mastering the invisible forces of nature. With the help of the magnets, you will learn to use gravity to turn your own magical motor, running the spheres up and down the track, all built by you.

Building our Mechanics Gravity Loops & Turns Set
What is the GEOMAG Gravity Loops & Turns age range?
Sienna was very happy to build this set which is aimed at 8 years old and above, so it was perfect for her. This set consists of 130 pieces that can easily be combined with each other.
Inside the packaging, we found the pieces to make:
- Magnetic cannons
- 360° loops
- Parabolic curves
- Gravity motors
The instruction booklet helps you to make the basic set but then you can make different sets so your kids can get their imagination rolling here.
Sienna wanted to build this set by herself but she struggled a little bit, so Nick and I guided her throughout the whole process. She got very excited through each stage. She was so impressed with the final results. It looked fantastic!
Each construction set can be combined with the rest of the Mechanics Gravity product line: Mechanics Gravity Race Track, Mechanics Gravity Vertical Motor and – Mechanics Gravity Elevator Circuit. The “Easy Combo” system allows you to build different models and connect them within just 3 moves.
The fun part was when Sienna was able to test the set. Watching the spheres running around the set going through the magnetic cannons and 360° loops. This was fascinating for Sienna.
Price and Where To Buy
The price is £34.99 and you can get it from good toy retailers such as The Entertainer and online such as Amazon.
Our Thoughts
GEOMAG Gravity Loops & Turns: is it fun?
This set is really fun to build. Sienna thought this was an impressive set. She was amazed at the end results. She spent hours after building it, dropping the spheres and watching them doing their magic around the track. Her favourite part was the 360° loops.
It makes it even more interesting that you can also expand the tracks with other compatible sets. I am sure this will be a great option for Christmas or birthdays.
What do you think of this set? Do your kids like STEM sets?
