Jack N’ Jill Eco Friendly Toothcare Review

amomentwithfranca · 10 June 2017 · 46 Comments

One of the things I have found hard to do as a parent is to teach my girls to get into the habit of brushing their teeth at least twice every day. My girls do usually brush their teeth twice a day but it can sometimes be a struggle to get them do it. It is so important for them to have good oral care. When I was contacted by Jack N’ Jill to try their tooth care range, I was happy to be involved because anything that makes this habit more enjoyable for my girls can only be a good thing.

Jack N' Jill Eco Friendly Toothcare Review

Jack N’ Jill toothpaste was first made in Melbourne, Australia in 1949! It has been a family run business for more than 20 years. They have created a safe tooth care range for kids. They have a natural toothpaste for babies, toddlers and children that is completely safe to swallow. I think this is great because Sienna, like Bella when she was little,  likes to swallow her toothpaste. You always worry whether this is okay when they do this so now knowing that it won’t matter if Sienna swallows her toothpaste really gives me peace of mind.

They have a background in pharmacy, so they formulated the safest toothpaste for kids. In the process, they also made it fun & tasty! Their products have natural organic ingredients and come in biodegradable, eco-friendly packaging. They have also been recognised by the Environmental Working Group’s (EWG) Skin Deep researchers to have a danger score of ‘1’, the safest rating possible.

I was very impressed when we opened our bundle. I didn’t know they had so many products! They are all super cute and of course appealing to kids. They have natural toothpaste, toothbrushes (both manual and electrical), rinse cups, silicone finger brushes (perfect for cleaning gums and first teeth), tooth keepers, etc. Their range is great and perfect for providing a gentle, safe and fun introduction to brushing teeth!

You can see their range below:

TOOTHPASTE – £4.99

It comes in five certified organic fruit flavours & a flavour free variant is made using only natural and organic ingredients. They sent us 4 flavours: strawberry, blackcurrant, blueberry and banana. Bella’s favourite one was strawberry and Sienna’s favourite was banana.

The toothpaste is free from fluoride, sugar, sodium lauryl sulphates, gluten and colour yet rich in Xylitol. It also contains certified organic calendula which is a mild/natural anti-inflammatory and perfect for young gums and teeth.

BIO TOOTHBRUSH – £3.99 & ELECTRICAL MUSICAL BRUSH – £15.99

Jack N’ Jill have also designed and manufactured the first children’s toothbrushes with handles that are made of NON-GMO cornstarch, and are therefore biodegradable and recyclable.

Each toothbrush has a rounded handle, soft nylon bristles and features one of four cute animal characters. My girls really liked these. We received both the bio toothbrush and the Buzzy Brush electric toothbrush. The electric one was for Bella and the bio one for Sienna.

The electric toothbrush is super cool. It comes with music which both my girls love listening to and some stickers for them to personalise their toothbrushes. It is so much fun for them. The only thing has been that Sienna now also wants to use the electric one, LOL! It is for kids aged 3+ so she is not ready for it yet but as soon as she turns three I will need to upgrade hers to an electric one.

The electric toothbrush offers three different modes: 1. children can sing along to Buzzy’s original educational song; 2.  listen to the spoken instructional prompts to help them effectively brush their own teeth; and 3. a silent mode, for parents. It also automatically switches off after two minutes which helps to save battery life.

The toothbrushes handles are made using eco-friendly materials free of BPA, PVC and Phthalate. They also kindly sent us replacement heads which come in a box of two.

RINSE CUP – £5.99

Also in the bundle was a rinse cup which we are using to store the toothbrushes and toothpaste, but can also be used for rinsing after brushing. It is very cute and keeps it all nice and tidy.

These rinse cups are biodegradable and come with 4 different characters: a bunny, a hippo, a koala and a dino. We got a rinse cup with a koala. We really like it. It is super cute! 🙂

TOOTH KEEPER – £6.99

I absolutely love this idea! Bella has already lost about 4 teeth and she is waiting for at least another 3 to come out which are wobbling at the moment! So when the moment come we will be prepared with these cute tooth keepers!

Each has one of 6 different characters to choose from: bunny, hippo, dino, koala, buzzy and tickle. My girls got a koala one and a dino one.

SILICONE RANGE-  £3.99-£4.99

We also received a silicone brush which is great for babies new to brushing. They have a three-stage silicone range offering various finger brushes, baby toothbrushes and tooth and gum brushes suitable for babies and kids aged 6 months to 5 years.

They are made from 100% medical/food grade silicone and have been designed for a simple and effective start towards good oral hygiene.

MORE ACCESSORIES

They also have baby gum and tooth wipes (£5.99), sleepover bag (£4.99) and silicone lids (£2.49).

You can buy Jack N’ Jill’s range from Ocado, Holland & Barratt online, selected pharmacies and health food shops.

Do you find it hard to get your kids to brush their teeth every day? What do you think of this new organic toothcare range? Have you heard of Jack N’ Jill before?

*Disclaimer: I was sent a Jack N’ Jill bundle for the purpose of this review. However, all the thoughts and opinions are my own. I was also offered the opportunity to giveaway a Jack N’ Jill Bunny Gift Kit.

Thanks for stopping by,

Love you all ❤️

My son has sensory problems and HATES the sensation of his toothbrush and the flavours of most common toothpastes. I discovered Jack and Jills and bought their blueberry flavour (as he LOVES blueberries) and he now brushes twice a day. It can be a struggle still to get him to do it, but this toothpaste definitely helps! I’d love for him to try the rest of the range of flavours and see what else might help encourage him.

I have never heard of this range before and it looks fab. We have to encourage our daughter every single time. We get her to make as many bubbles she can whilst brushing. Seems to work at the moment. We have previously tried a thomas the tank timer… she got bored ha.
We also toothbrush shop together and we let her pick her own toothpaste.
