#KCACOLS – 4th February 2018

amomentwithfranca · 3 February 2018 · 6 Comments

Welcome back to #KCACOLS. I hope you are all well! We had 56 link ups! THANK YOU ALL so much for being part of the linky! I really appreciate your support. For new people joining us this week, I really hope you like #KCACOLS and that you come back again next time! You can also find out more about this linky on the #KCACOLS linky page! 🙂

I can’t believe that January is over and we are finally in February! January always seems so long and dark that you just want it to finish as soon as possible, right? I had the worst cold ever. I had no voice and got a blocked ear! It was horrible! Thankfully I am much better now!

The last couple of weeks have been lovely and super fun, hanging out with my niece and my sister! They also came with us to a couple of events. We went to the Sony Headquarters in Central London for a Teletubbies event and then we went to Ceviche, a Peruvian restaurant in Soho. It is really good! I had to travel all the way to Essex to Lakeside Shopping Centre for an event one Monday morning too. I have never there before. My niece came with me which was fun! We also went to a Pomegreat event in North London at a super cute cafe that had a soft play area. They gave us the most delicious brunch! Last week I went to an interesting Start Rite & Micro Scooter event in Leicester Square followed by a lovely dinner with Maria and Tracey who came all the way from the Wirral!  It is always so much fun when you meet with blogger friends. So as you can see I have been busy!

Each link up, I love sharing a couple of photos from my last 2 weeks on Instagram, so here are two of my favourites:

#KCACOLS ON INSTAGRAM

Thank you so much for using the #KCACOLS hashtag on Instagram for all your photos. It is lovely to see your photos there! I would love it if more of you could use the hashtag for your photos and of course it would be even better if we all also spread some love there! I am featuring 1 photo from the community that has caught my eye since the last link up. This time I’m featuring SINEAD from Shinners and the Brood. See her photo below:

https://www.instagram.com/p/BeqqqYEHWJa/

KCACOLS CROWD FACEBOOK GROUP

THANK YOU to all of you that have joined the #KCACOLS CROWD Facebook Group. You can join us here. Also if you do join, please send me a direct message with the name of your blog so then I know who you are without having to figure out your blog name 🙂

NOTE: you can promote your posts and social channels there too because we host different threads to support each other so that is another reason to join us!

NOW BACK TO THE LINKY

We didn’t get as much link ups as we we did last time but it was still a good link up. Checking the comments on Thursday, we got about 26 posts that needed more comments. By today, we managed to reduce it to 4. They got 3 comments so it is not bad as the remaining 53 posts got 4 comments or more per post! This is great news!

We got 20 people that didn’t comment the post before theirs and by today it went down to 9 people. I have reminded them alraeady so hopefully this number will be reduced soon. In general, it was a good link up.

Also, remember to comment on the co-hosts posts. And please be aware that I’m BLOCKING URLS/Emails of people that have joined the linky and have not commented on any posts for consecutive weeks. If you find I have blocked you by mistake, please contact me.

FORTNIGHTLY LINKY

The linky will be open for 2 weeks until the second Wednesday at 8 pm or until we reach 100 link ups, whichever comes first.

The co-hosts and I will be allowed to change our posts on the following Saturday after the linky is live. Please be aware of these changes during the second week.

I would suggest that you link up one post each week so you will be able to share something different and current each week. I will also be more strict regarding commenting on the post before yours.

LINKY TWEETS

I’m not tweeting individual people once the linky is live but I will tweet the people that have been featured and mentioned. I’ll also post a link to the new linky post on the KCACOLS Facebook Group, pin it on my Twitter account and on my Facebook page together with some generic tweets. I will of course, email all of you the link. If you could also share it by clicking the link below that would be FABULOUS!

Tweet Me!

PLEASE REMEMBER

  • I am not pushing for the 4 comments per post. I will keep showing a list of posts that have fewer comments on my Thank You email to encourage people to comment more on those but after that, I will not keep asking. It will be lovely if we can get a minimum of 2 comments per post but of course, we should be aiming for more.
  • To approve your comments and check your SPAM folders (this is such a HUGE problem for me as it keeps being part of why I can’t have a current list as I know for sure lots of posts have comments that have not been approved yet)
  • I’m expecting a minimum of 5 comments per person (1 host, 3 co-hosts and the post before yours) and if you link up 2 posts I would expect 6 comments as a minimum per person (1 host, 3 co-hosts, the posts before yours and 1 more )
  • To comment on the post before yours. If you have any problems commenting on the post before yours please just send me a message and I will do my best to help.
  • If you receive a lot of comments, try to reciprocate to the ones that have taken the time to comment on your post. It is all about being generous with each other and spreading lots of love.
  • Do not link up and run.
  • Do not forget to add the linky badge.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR NEW LINKERS:

PLEASE START by commenting on the post linked up before yours FIRST and then comment on any other posts as much as you would like. Also, use the hashtag #KCACOLS when commenting (this is indeed very important so I can then see how many comments you are doing and then be able to feature you in my linky post which is always great for you as you get a backlink which helps improve your DA).

Thank you so much for all your comments on the host posts and the linky post. As always, I have read and liked all your comments! We will do our best for you to receive a comment from someone on behalf of the linky (either the co-hosts or me).

GUEST CO-HOSTS FROM THE PREVIOUS LINK UP

I would like to say THANK YOU so much to LAURA from Dot Makes 4 and EMMA from Me and B Make Tea for helping me with the commenting this week! It was lovely having them! 🙂

GUEST CO-HOSTS FOR THIS LINK UP

My first guest co-host this week is KATE from Along Came Poppy. I’m very excited to have KATE co-hosting with me again. She helped me last year in April, so it is lovely to have her back. She has been mentioned before and also she is a great supporter of the linky. Kate has a parenting blog. She started her blog in 2016 and with the help of her 3 mini reviewers (her lovely kids), she kept track of their “366 books in 366 days reading challenge”. They have now completed the challenge but they still love sharing their recommendations for the best children books as well as sharing plays ideas, parenting tips and product reviews. She is lovely! Please give her some love to her social media accounts which are (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram & Pinterest). She will also be retweeting your tweets this week so please add her twitter handle (@KEEccles) to your tweets as well as mine. Finally, she has a guest co-host post, Picture Book of the Month: The Last Chip linked up too. Please if you could go there and add a comment it would be AWESOME!!

featuredpost_rainbowsaretoobeautiful

My second guest co-host this week is ANN from Rainbows are too Beautiful. I’m also very excited to have Ann as my co-host again. She helped me co-host the linky exactly one year ago. She has been a great supporter of this linky for a long time which is lovely. Ann has a parenting blog. She writes positive thoughts, ideas and experiences of life with her autistic and neurotypical kids and their greater family. Her children have also been diagnosed with ADHD, hypermobility, SPD, dyspraxia, anxiety and sleep issues. Her blog is a great source for people who are going through the same experiences. She is really nice! Please give her social media accounts some love (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, & Pinterest). She will also be retweeting your tweets this week so please add her twitter handle (@rainbowsaretoo) to your tweets as well as mine. Finally, she has a guest co-host post, Top Five Tips for Helping Autistic Kids In Wet Weather linked up too. If you could please go there and add a comment it would be AWESOME!!

FEATURED POSTS – TOP 3

The person who commented the most this week was BREAD from Queer Little Family. Yee! She is back in the top 3 commenters again! She is AMAZING! As I said last time, kcacols couldn’t be the same without her. I am so grateful for all her support. She has commented on 45 posts! Fantastic, right? One of her posts from last week was 2018: The Year Of The Sibling. Please visit her post and give her more love if you can.

FeaturedPost_Educating_Reversi

The second person who commented a lot was BECKY from Educating Roversi. It is so lovely to see her back in the top 3 commenters, especially after she has had her beautiful baby girl. It is so lovely of her to make some time to comment on lots of your posts! She has been featured and mentioned before as well as co-hosted the linky so she is a great supporter of this linky which I really appreciate. She has commented on 27 posts! Super! Thank you so much, BECKY! One of her posts from last week was, A Month With Spud. Please go and give her post more love if you can!

The third person who commented a lot was MADELINE from This Glorious Life. I am super happy to have Madeline back in the top 3 commenters! Yay! She has always been very kind with her commenting. She has not linked up with us for a little bit so it is really lovely to see her back to join us and to be featured already. She has commented on 21 posts! Thank you so much, MADELINE! Her post from last week was Why do children lie and how can we encourage them to tell the truth?. Please go to her post and give her more love if you can.

FEATURED POSTS – TOP 6

Behind Lisa,  Carolynne and Bread were NATASHA from Serenity You with 20 comments, LISA from Lisa Pomerantzster with 19 comments and NICOLA from Mummy to Dex with 18 comments. Thank you so much to all of you! 🙂

For this week’s linky I am linking up Infertility Treatment Helps Families Grow and Talking To Five Over 65 People About Fraud for Take Five Week so I hope you like them! 😉

Please do not forget to follow and check out the #KCACOLS Pinterest Board. We have pinned all your posts from last week’s linky so please go and have a look. There are some great posts that deserve a read!

[do_widget id=”text-21″ title=false]

Now let’s carry on with the linky:

RULES:

Every 2 weeks I will choose 6 people who have commented A LOT on the linky. Three will be featured and another three will be mentioned on my fortnightly Saturday linky post. This means that 6 people will get a backlink on my new linky post every other Saturday!

1. Be sure to grab the #KCACOLS badge which can be found below or on my sidebar. Simply copy the code from the box below the badge and add it to the text/html at the bottom of your post or place it on your blog sidebar.

2. You can link up to 2 posts. I recommend you to link up one post each week to get the most of the linky.

3. You can share anything that you would like. It is open to absolutely any subject and also you can link up posts that are old or new. You are allowed to link up another linky ONLY if it is a promotional post about the linky and you can do this only once and I expect you to put my badge or a link to my linky and of course to follow the rules regarding commenting.

4. Comment on:

  • one of the hosts’ posts (choose one that you would like to comment).
  • the guest co-hosts posts.
  • the post which is linked up immediately before yours.
  • and finally, any other post that you would like to comment on.

That way everybody receives at least two comments (one from the host/guest co-hosts and one from others).

5. This linky will be open every other Saturday from 10 pm and will remain open until the following 2nd Wednesday at 08.00 pm or until we reach 100 link ups, whichever comes first.

6. If you would like us to tweet your post that is absolutely fine, just tweet your link to me @WithFranca, KATE @KEEccles and ANN @rainbowsaretoo and we will retweet it. Please remember to use the hashtag #KCACOLS.

7. Finally, if you could please follow A Moment With Franca (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Bloglovin, Google+ and YouTube) that would be fantastic!! 😉

I look forward to reading and commenting your posts!! 🙂

✨ Happy Mother's Day✨.If you are in the UK, ✨ Happy Mother's Day✨.If you are in the UK, I hope you are having a lovely Mother's Day! 🌸🌸.We actually started the celebrations yesterday as Bella took me to @javawhiskersuk a new cat cafe in Westfield as a present for Mother’s Day. We spent 55 mins arround gorgeous kittens. I had a great time! I am a cat lover so this was a fab present for me! I will talk more about this experience on another post but if you swipe left you can see a little peak of our time there! 🐈😉.Today, the girls and Nick took me for the actually Mother’s Day celebration 🎉 to @cafejackss in Queen’s Park where we had brunch. It was a yummy treat. Swipe left to check it out! 😋 .After that we went for a walk. There was a small market nearby so it was nice to have a little look around 😍. We then went back home and spent the rest of the day chilling which is something, I’m not going to lie, I love doing! 😉😂.How was your day?#mothersdayuk #mothersdayweekend #mothersday2023 #motherofdaughters #mumoftwo #mumofgirls #mydaughters #lovemydaughters #daughterslove #mummydaughtertime #daughtersarethebest #daughtersrock #spendingtimetogether #happyfamilytime #familytime💕
✨My Girls✨.Due to the strikes we had Sienna ✨My Girls✨.Due to the strikes we had Sienna at home yesterday and today, and Bella only today. I thought it would be very chaotic but despite it always being louder when the girls are at home, especially my youngest one, lol, we did well..Bella did school work at home today and had the afternoon free. Sienna didn’t do school work. We only asked her to carry on doing Spanish and Maths via Duolingo. She also had Spanish lessons this afternoon (every Thursday she has lessons) so both days were manageable thankfully 😍.How was it for you? Did your kids stay at home or did they go to school? .PS: let’s hope things get better for teachers. ✨Happy Weekend✨.How is your weekend going so ✨Happy Weekend✨.How is your weekend going so far? I am finally feeling more normal after the massive jetlag I had after my trip to South America. I am not sure why it hit me so much this time but it has taken me about two solid weeks to properly be back to my routine without feeling right. Waking up in the mornings was the worst. It was very hard, especially when I had to be on time for the school run! 😩.Anyway, everything feels better now! 😊.How long does it take you to be back to normal after a jetlag? Do you have any tricks or tips to speed this process? .📸 Selfy taken in Barranco, a lively district in Peru considered to be one of the most romantic and bohemian places to visit and being the home and working place of many Peruvian artists, musicians, designers, photographers among others 😎.#thisisme #selfie #instaselfie #smilemore #brunettehair #greeneyes #over40#over40blogger #overforty #overfortystyle #over40andfabulous #over40mom #outandabout #barrancolima
✨The Costa Verde✨.Lima, the capital of Peru ✨The Costa Verde✨.Lima, the capital of Peru is located on the coast. Walking along the sidewalk of the Malécon in Lima’s picturesque seaside district, Miraflores, you can admire the most beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean. .The “Costa Verde” is a coastal road. It runs along the south-central part of the Lima coast. You can visit in the morning for a jog or in the evening to enjoy a relaxing walk. It is a very lively where people have fun in the open air..This is one of the best attractions on the coastal road. You will see several parks with sculptures of famous artists that make this walk even more unique and enjoyable. Along the route, you can find numerous recreational activities such as surfing and paragliding..If you keep walking you will arrive at “Larcomar” which is a shopping centre and has many restaurants and cafes so you can enjoy a coffee or a meal with the gorgeous ocean view too. .Pictures explained below:1. Start of my walk with the view of the ocean showing one the most gorgeous restaurants in Lima “La Rosa Nautica” where you can walk along the pier and then seat down for a meal with a sea view. ✨Peruvian Suspiro Limeño✨."Suspiro Limeño" ✨Peruvian Suspiro Limeño✨."Suspiro Limeño" is one of my favourite Peruvian desserts. When I was In Peru, I of course, made sure to have it not only once but several times 😉.This dessert is made of manjar blanco (milk, sugar, almond flour, egg yolks, vanilla) and meringue (egg whites, port, cinnamon) 😘.The history behind this dessert starts with Amparo Ayarza who was the creator. Her husband, José Gálvez Barrenechea was a poet and was the one who gave it its name. The poet called it "Suspiro de Limeña", which means, 'Sigh of a Lima lady', because it is soft and sweet like the sigh of a woman. Love this 🥰.Have you ever tried "Suspiro Limeño"? Or have you heard of it before? Would you try it? .📸 Picture taken @panchitasazoncriolla in Lima that has one of the best versions of this dessert 🙌🏻.#suspirolimeño #peruviandessert #meringue #merengue #desserttime #dessertlover #dessertpic #dessertgram #peruvianfood #cocinaperuana #gastronomiaperuana #perufood #peruviancousine #whatisfordessert #dessertsofinstagram

Peruvian food is one of the best in the world! It really is! And eating in Peru is a must! Trying any dish even if it is not neccesary a peruvian dish, it is cooked in such a way that the taste is just incredible! 😋 .While I was there for a couple of weeks I really made sure to try my favourite dishes again as well as new dishes and visiting classic restaurants as well as new restaurants and cafes that have opened in the last 5 years that I haven’t been able to visit. .If you go to Peru and stop in Lima, I really recommend you to visit @elmercadorestaurante, @cafedelima, @bottega_dasso, @panchitasazoncriolla, @eltiomario_restaurant, @lacaffettedilonato, @churreriamanolope, @franklinrestaurante, @lalamiraflores, @osakanikkei, @elpandelachola, @mattoniperu, @laterrazadelpardo, @cafevictoria_barranco among others! Peru is one of the best culinary destinations in the world 😋 .I also went to #limamarinaclub for dinner and the food together with the sea view was such an amazing atmosphere. This is a members club but I had to mention it because I really enjoyed this place ☺️.Have you tried Peruvian Food or eating in Peru? .#peruvianfood #cocinaperuana #peruvianrestaurant #gastronomiaperuana #perufood #peruviancousine #peruvian #limaperu #limafood #loveeating #foodiegram #food #over40 #over40blogger #overforty
