Konjac Sponges Baby & Child Sponge Pack Review

amomentwithfranca · 4 October 2016 · 2 Comments

A few weeks ago I was contacted by The Konjac Sponge Company to review their new Baby & Child Konjac Sponge Pack. I have heard of natural konjac sponges before as I received a konjac sponge in one of my monthly Glossybox boxes. It was not from this brand but it was also konjac. When I tried it I really liked it as it exfoliated my skin very nicely. When I had the opportunity to review this Baby & Child Konjac Sponge Pack I was very interested in trying it with my girls. Especially because Bella suffers from eczema.

Konjac Sponges Baby & Child Sponge Pack Review

Konjac Sponge Company are the original and largest Konjac Sponge Company, supplying premium grade Konjac Sponge products to the UK, Europe and the rest of the world. Their Konjac is grown on the fertile volcanic hills of Jeju Island in South Korea.

WHAT IS KONJAC?

Konjac comes from a potato-like plant in Asia that is both cultivated and grows wild at high altitudes. It has been used for over 1500 years as a medicine, food, a dieting aid and as a beauty product. The Konjac sponge has been handmade from the vegetable fibre of this plant along with French clays and some contain pure charcoal from bamboo. That is why the Konjac sponge is extremely gentle and 100% biodegradable.

This sponge deep cleanses and exfoliates the skin from the layers of dead cells, accelerating the regeneration process to leave the skin hydrated and looking radiant. It is ideal for dry skin that needs rejuvenating, reducing the appearance of fine lines and broken capillaries which are often traits of dry skin suffers. It will leave a soothing effect on irritated, sunburnt and sensitive skin. This sponge is also great to help with the condition of rosacea and can be great to use as part of rosacea treatment.

The pack that I was sent combined their Konjac Baby Sponge and Konjac Baby Bath Sponge with a mesh bag in a compact zip-lock pouch. These Konjac Sponges are entirely natural and only contain 100% pure Konjac plant fibre and spring water. This means that we can be sure that our delicate baby or child’s skin will not be irritated or damage.

This sponge is perfect for cleaning babies delicate skin. The size is perfect for newborns and premature babies. This product is also brilliant for children prone to eczema like Bella.  She can’t have a bath with any type of chemicals so always uses natural products.

This pack contains:

  • 1 x Konjac Face Sponge
  • 1 X Konjac Bath Sponge
  • 1 X Mesh Drying Bag

We were all ready to try this pack at bath time. I showed them their sponges and they both were very excited to try them. At first, the sponge feels very hard like a stone. So you will need to rinse it in warm water and then squeeze the water. After that, they gently cleaned their skin.

They loved the feeling as it went from very hard to super soft. When you pass it through your skin it feels really nice. I asked Bella what she thought about it and she was fascinated about how it worked. She rubbed it gently on the part of her skin that was dried cause of her eczema and she said it felt softer and relaxing.

Sienna is too little to actually tell me her thoughts about it but I can assure you that she really liked it as she spends the whole bath time rubbing the sponge around her cheeks, LOL! It was actually very cute to see! 🙂

It is very important to always rinse the sponge very well after using it so then it can be allowed to dry between uses. You should be careful wringing it out as it can damage the delicate plant fibres. The best way is to just squeeze it gently between your hands.

Another way to do it is to put your sponge in the fridge to keep it fresh and cool which will help your sponge last even longer. The Konjac Sponge is a 100% natural vegetable product and should last 2 to 3 months. Once it starts to look tired and/or breaks down, it is better to replace it.

This is a small and compact pack which could make it a great gift too. The sponges are simple to use and are a fuss-free solution to cleansing the delicate skin of newborns, babies or toddlers. We all really love this product so we will be using Konjac Sponges from now on.

This Baby & Child Konjac Pack retailed at £19.99. You can get it online or from many beauty retailers. You can find more information on their website, Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.

Have you heard of Konjac Sponges before? Have you tried them? What do you think of the Baby & Child Konjac Pack? Do you have something similar at home? Will you try it with your kids? Please leave a comment below as I would love to read what you think.

*Disclosure: I received this product from The Konjac Company in exchange for a blog post. However, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Thanks for stopping by,

Love you all ❤️
