Mother’s Day in Cornwall

amomentwithfranca · 3 April 2017 · 22 Comments

We had a lovely week away in Cornwall with Nick’s family. We rented a big house and we spent a wonderful time all together! It was a fab house with a little shop next to it (believe it or not, LOL!), a great playground in front, a really nice beach nearby and best of all, a great pub just 2 minutes walk away! Yay! What else can you ask for? Well, I guess one thing would have been better wifi! Yes, the wifi was BAD! It was a little bit of a nightmare for a blogger like me! I’m not going to lie, I suffered a lot! But despite this problem, overall we had a fantastic week and the weather was very kind to us for most of the time!

The first Sunday of our week away was Mother’s Day. Luckily I’d already been spoilt for mother’s day by my girls and Nick for a collaboration video we did with Mumsnet and Lidl. So, I knew that I was not going to have another amazing breakfast like the one they made me, LOL! It was fantastic! I really enjoyed it!

If you haven’t seen the video already, you can see it below:

Kids plan their perfect treat for mum | Lidl Hauls

What do you think of the video? Do you think the girls did a good job? I think they were very good and super cute, right? I really loved it!

On the morning of Mother’s Day I was really intrigued about what the girls would do. They woke up early as usual and went with daddy to the kitchen. They then brought me a cup of coffee in bed, which was very well needed at that point! Sienna was carrying their cards and a box of Lindt chocolates and Bella was holding some flowers and a present. The present was a beautiful candle that says: ‘Thank You MUM”. It was all very cute!

We knew before our holiday that we were going to spend Mother’s Day all together so we booked a lovely Mother’s Day lunch at the New Inn Goonhavern which is the pub that I previously mentioned was within walking distance from where we were staying. Guess what? The pub had a great playground for the kids to use and super fast free wifi access! It was super handy for us! 🙂

I also received another special treat for Mother’s Day which I got to wear for our Mother’s Day lunch. It was a beautiful Ted Baker Jumper from Love the Sales. I already mentioned in a post last year the fabulous Ted Baker dress for the MAD Blog Awards which I got from there for a fantastic reduced price. I’m a fan of Ted Baker and Love the Sales have lots of great Ted Baker items at affordable prices! You can find lots of fantastic well-known brand items there available at a fraction of the price so it is worth having a look.

My jumper was divine! It is beautifully knitted from the softest threads and the embellished collar adds just the right amount of sparkle to it! It also has textured sleeves and a keyhole button fastening. It will dress you up completely! I wore it with dark blue jeans and black ankle boots with small heels. I felt amazing that day with this jumper!

At the pub, we all ordered our food and drinks. I had a pint of shandy! I really like to drink this as it makes the beer much sweeter. I know it sounds bad but I really enjoy it!

Most of the group ordered a roasted dinner. Bella had a nice burger and Sienna had fish and chips. I ordered something completely different. I got a pate for a starter and a pumpkin risotto for my main course. It was very nice although filling so I couldn’t eat it all.

The food was really good in this pub. We all really enjoyed it and the best part is that we managed to have a really nice family lunch for Mother’s Day!

Nick’s brother takes fantastic photos so we asked him to take us some family shots. We went outside to the playground for this. They came up very nice! It was fun to do!

Bella and Sienna played for a while there going up and down the slides!

I really loved spending Mother’s Day with Nick’s family in a completely different setting! It was really nice to be in Cornwall. I love this part of the country! It is beautiful!

What did you do for Mother’s Day? Have you been to Cornwall before? If so, whereabouts?

Thanks for stopping by,

Love you all ❤️

Franca  💋

Ah wow! You are a very lucky Mummy. I had my birthday just over a week before Mother’s Day so wasn’t really spoiled Mother’s Day as a result.

I’m hoping as George gets older that I may have a little more thought out into “MY day”

Your holiday sounds fab too. Although I’ve kind of put a ban on group holidays as I just can’t tolerate sharing accomodation whilst I have a little one. Too many people to please when all I really want to do is please myself and little one.

We went Cornwall for our honeymoon. Think we’ve been to Looe and Truro. I never take much notice of the place names as hubs is always driving. Loved the Eden project there tho. Cornwall is so idyllic tho. Most of the people I know in Essex would love to move there. Lol.

What a lovely weekend! I love the jumper. I really don’t know how you survived with no wifi though. I think I’d have had a minor crisis. Pen x #KCACOLS
