My August Favourites

It is already September so it is now the time to do My August Favourites! If you haven’t read my July Favourites check the link here

My August Favourites FI

My August Favourites 08

For this month I have chosen four products related to me (a shower gel, a mascara, make up brushes, and backpack) as well as a product related to my girls (a steamer together with a decongestant oil). I hope you like them!

1. [amazon_textlink asin=’B010HJ707O’ text=’SOAP & GLORY CLEAN ON ME SHOWER GEL’ template=’ProductLink’ store=’amowifr0d-21′ marketplace=’UK’ link_id=’edd78883-f530-11e7-a492-e30a5190fbe4′]

IMG_3972

I have been using this shower gel non-stop for a long time now. It is a real favourite for me as I have already bought new bottles 3 or 4 times over the last year. It has a beautiful smell and the texture of it is so creamy. It feels really nice when you apply it to your body. I feel like my skin feels better after using it. It also seems to last a lot too! The good thing about this product is that they also have travel sizes so when you are away on your holidays you can take a small bottle and it will last you for the whole duration of your holidays (unless you are going for more than a month, although I guess in that case you could just take two! LOL). You can find this brand on most high streets in Boots. You can also buy it from Amazon if you are an online shopper like me LOL 😉

2. [amazon_textlink asin=’B00M0QKKSY’ text=’LANCOME GRANDIOSE MASCARA’ template=’ProductLink’ store=’amowifr0d-21′ marketplace=’UK’ link_id=’175861af-f531-11e7-95a6-33b1590641fc’]

IMG_3969

I love Lancome products. I have been using this brand for a long time since I was 16 years old because my sister used to bring us all the latest products of this brand back to Peru when she was living in the US. As soon as I found out about this mascara I just knew that I should get it. The shape of this mascara is great – I have never seen something so cool before. You can apply it to your upper eyelashes and also to your bottom eyelashes. It really looks good! It makes your eyelashes look very long and it also lasts a long time too. Every time I use it I feel like my eyes look much bigger. I really recommend it to you. You should try it – you won’t be disappointed.

3. [amazon_textlink asin=’B00CF7MZ72′ text=’REAL TECHNIQUES LIMITED EDITION DUO FIBER COLLECTION’ template=’ProductLink’ store=’amowifr0d-21′ marketplace=’UK’ link_id=’51d8e135-f531-11e7-bd0c-8d2c6e84cb6c’]

IMG_3980

I love these Real Technique brushes which are made by the two famous bloggers and make up artists Sam and Nicki Chapman. They have created these amazing make up brushes and the interesting thing about them is that they are duo-fiber which means that the bristles are incredibly soft to touch and feel amazing against your face. The set comes with 3 different brush types as shown in the photo above. The big size is a Face Brush which you can use to apply powder to your face for example. This is for lightweight application. Then we have the medium size brush which is a contour brush for controlled contouring and sculpting. Finally, the small brush is an eye brush to use for finishing touches to the eyes. I use it to blend my eye shadows at the end and it is amazing. They are also very light and easy to use. They can be a true multitasker because the duo-fiber bristles work with cream, liquid or powder. I really love these brushes and if you are looking for new make up brushes I recommend you to try this set. You will really like them.

4. [amazon_textlink asin=’B00UAK59BK’ text=’LONGCHAMP LE PLIAGE BACKPACK’ template=’ProductLink’ store=’amowifr0d-21′ marketplace=’UK’ link_id=’9cbae9a3-f530-11e7-854e-5147c9797855′]

My August Favourites 05

My August Favourites 04

This is my BIG favourite for this month. I have always wanted to have a backpack because I knew it would be really handy to have my hands free especially now that I have two girls to be dealing with all the time. I used to wear a Burberry Messenger but sometimes I thought that having a backpack where I can put more things and have my hands free would be much more practical for me. I love Longchamp – I think I have 10,000 different sizes of Longchamp bags LOL, although I have never owned a Longchamp Backpack before. As such, I decided to order one this month and since it arrived I have been loving it! It is so useful really and as I have already said, I have my hands free to deal with my girls and it is very spacious so I can put a fair amount of things in it. If I had to add something to this bag I would probably say that it could be nice to have a small pocket outside just for my keys and mobile but apart from that I’m so happy with it. I was worried at the beginning that I was going to look like I was going back to school or something but to be honest with you it actually looks and feels super cool! If you are like me needing your hands free (like a typical multitasking parent) and love backpacks I recommend you to try it as it is really practical especially when you have kids.

5. [amazon_textlink asin=’B000LN5FYW’ text=’VICKS V-188 WARM STEAM VAPORISER’ template=’ProductLink’ store=’amowifr0d-21′ marketplace=’UK’ link_id=’83c0c278-f531-11e7-827d-05eeb7ed2208′] &  [amazon_textlink asin=’B0013G3BNS’ text=’OLBAS OIL FOR CHILDREN 10 ML’ template=’ProductLink’ store=’amowifr0d-21′ marketplace=’UK’ link_id=’c0069a0f-f531-11e7-955b-539d8b965ff9′]

My August Favourites 07

My August Favourites 06

This will be a combined favourite as both items go together. This is also the favourite related to my little girls. This steamer is incredibly good. Using it with the Olbas decongestant oil works wonders for my girls. My eldest daughter, Bella suffers a lot. It is possible that she has asthma (we are waiting for definite diagnose) so when she gets a cold it triggers her asthma a lot, often resulting in breathing problems. We have ended up in an A&E a couple of times already, so now as soon as I see that she is getting a cold and starts coughing (we start a strict regime with her inhalers as this point too) I try to use this steamer to help her breathing during the night. It works even better if I start using it before she is at the worst stage. It helps her to open her lungs so that she can breath much more easily. The same thing is now happening with my 1 year old. I hope she is not having what Bella has but unfortunately it looks like this could be the case. Now I have them both using the steamer during the nights when they are not well and this normally happens at the same time as they always get each others illnesses. As they sleep together in the same toom this works perfect for both. The steamer is very easy to use – you just fill it with water and then put about 5 drops of the oil. Then I put the lid back ob and plug it in. It starts working straight away, I will usually have it on about 10 minutes before I put the girls in their bedroom so it is just right for them to start feeling the steam. If you have kids like me that suffer a lot with colds, asthma, allergies, etc I would recommend you to try this steamer and oil.

Seems like a fabulous list! I’m so interested with your Vicks Steam vaporizer, I haven’t tried it, but it caught my attention as I’m asthmatic, when I was in Phils. I used a vaporizer regularly and helped me a lot. Now being in UK, have not used ever since because my asthma is not too bad here. #lovelythings

Two things here really stood out to me. The backpack – as you say, how amazing to be handsfree! I’m still in the baby bag zone but when past that and can get away with just taking out a few bits, a ‘girly’ rucksack would be heaven. The other one would be the steamer – we have a 3 yo with seasonal asthma, and already we are starting to hear a few coughs at night. We did try a plug in vaporizer before but we were getting through 3 plugs a night! V expensive – will check this one out… x MMT #lovelythings

✨ Cat Cafe In London✨.📍Bella and I went t ✨ Cat Cafe In London✨.📍Bella and I went to @javawhiskersuk , a cat cafe located in @westfieldlondon . This was my present for Mother’s Day from her🌸.🌟 Before we went inside, we had to go to a separate room to wash our hands and remove our shoes..🐾 They have 2 different rooms: the Cat Lounge and the Kitten Lounge and you can choose to stay from 55 mins to 1hr 55 mins. The prices vary depending on the room you choose and the length of time..🍰 When we stepped inside the room we were greeted by a group of gorgeous kittens. We ordered (before we went inside the room) a latte and a delicious chocolate muffin with chocolate melted inside that was so good. This was served to us in the room while we were surrounded by these adorable kittens..🐱 We spent 55 mins playing and petting the kittens. They were so cute. We loved interacting with them..🥰 Their cafe is also a foster home for homeless cats so if you are looking to adopt one, this is the place to visit! They have had 230 successful adoptions already! 🙌🏻.🚨 The only downside is that you have to be over 10 years old in order to be allowed inside the rooms 😬.🐈 If you are a cat lover like us, I highly recommend you visit Java Whiskers! It is the perfect place to unwind and relax with these beautiful kittens! 🙌🏻.Have you visited a Cat Cafe before? 🐈‍⬛ .#javawhiskers #catcafe #catcafelondon #londoncafe #westfieldlondon #londondayout #daysout #thingstodoinlondon #newplaces #londonguide #lovecats😻 #catsofinstagram #catloversday #londonthingstodo #whatsonlondon

I will talk more about this experience on another post but if you swipe left you can see a little peak of our time there! 🐈😉.Today, the girls and Nick took me for the actually Mother’s Day celebration 🎉 to @cafejackss in Queen’s Park where we had brunch. It was a yummy treat. Swipe left to check it out! 😋 .After that we went for a walk. There was a small market nearby so it was nice to have a little look around 😍. We then went back home and spent the rest of the day chilling which is something, I’m not going to lie, I love doing! 😉😂.How was your day?#mothersdayuk #mothersdayweekend #mothersday2023 #motherofdaughters #mumoftwo #mumofgirls #mydaughters #lovemydaughters #daughterslove #mummydaughtertime #daughtersarethebest #daughtersrock #spendingtimetogether #happyfamilytime #familytime💕
✨My Girls✨.Due to the strikes we had Sienna ✨My Girls✨.Due to the strikes we had Sienna at home yesterday and today, and Bella only today. I thought it would be very chaotic but despite it always being louder when the girls are at home, especially my youngest one, lol, we did well..Bella did school work at home today and had the afternoon free. Sienna didn’t do school work. We only asked her to carry on doing Spanish and Maths via Duolingo. She also had Spanish lessons this afternoon (every Thursday she has lessons) so both days were manageable thankfully 😍.How was it for you? Did your kids stay at home or did they go to school? .PS: let’s hope things get better for teachers. ✨Peruvian Suspiro Limeño✨."Suspiro Limeño" ✨Peruvian Suspiro Limeño✨."Suspiro Limeño" is one of my favourite Peruvian desserts. When I was In Peru, I of course, made sure to have it not only once but several times 😉.This dessert is made of manjar blanco (milk, sugar, almond flour, egg yolks, vanilla) and meringue (egg whites, port, cinnamon) 😘.The history behind this dessert starts with Amparo Ayarza who was the creator. Her husband, José Gálvez Barrenechea was a poet and was the one who gave it its name. The poet called it "Suspiro de Limeña", which means, 'Sigh of a Lima lady', because it is soft and sweet like the sigh of a woman. Love this 🥰.Have you ever tried "Suspiro Limeño"? Or have you heard of it before? Would you try it? .📸 Picture taken @panchitasazoncriolla in Lima that has one of the best versions of this dessert 🙌🏻.#suspirolimeño #peruviandessert #meringue #merengue #desserttime #dessertlover #dessertpic #dessertgram #peruvianfood #cocinaperuana #gastronomiaperuana #perufood #peruviancousine #whatisfordessert #dessertsofinstagram
