Orchard Toys Mini Games Crocodile Snap Review

amomentwithfranca · 25 May 2016 · 47 Comments

I’m a massive fan of Orchard Toys. They have a great range of mini games – small, portable and travel-sized games perfect for both at home and on the go. Based on traditional family favourites, the range gives classic games a fun ‘Orchard Toys’ twist! We chose to review Crocodile Snap from the 6 mini games in the collection we received. All toys and games produced by Orchard Toys follow the National Curriculum and EYFS guidelines which as parents is great to know – our kids are having fun and learning too.

The six mini games are: Dinosaur Dominoes, Little Bus Lotto, Jungle Snakes & Ladders, Build a Beetle, Penguin Pairs and Crocodile Snap.

From the 6 mini games, we chose to review Crocodile Snap which is a fun twist on the traditional game of snap, with quirky animal characters including superhero crocodiles and gorillas drinking tea.

Bella and I decided to give this game a go when Sienna was not around. This gave us the opportunity to have a nice , one to one mother-daughter moment. The size of the cards are perfect for taking any where.

The cards are made with a very firm and durable material, like all Orchard Toys products. All the products that we have received from them are like this and we love it!

Players have to shout out ‘snap!’ for matching pairs, but when they spot a pair of crocodiles they must ‘snap’ their arms instead! This was super fun to do. Bella really loved this part in particular.

How To Play Crocodile Snap

Setting up

The cards are shuffled and dealt, face down, to all the players.

How to play

  • The first player places their top card, face up, in front of them.
  • Each player then takes turns to do the same, keeping their piles separate from each other.
  • If you spot two matching cards shout ‘Snap!’ and collect both of the piles with matching cards on top. Add these cards to the bottom of your pile.
  • If you spot two crocodiles, you must keep quiet, but ‘snap’ your arms together instead. The first player to do this gets to collect all the face up cards to add to their pile.
  • When you have played your last card you are out of the game.
  • The winner is the last player with cards in play

When playing Crocodile Snap children match the quirky animal characters, including a superhero crocodile and a gorilla drinking tea! The mini games champion Orchard Toys’ values of being fun and educational, appealing to both parent and child.

The Crocodile Snap game has an RRP of £5.50. If you like the look of this mini game, you can buy it along with the other 5 options from the Orchard Toys website. You can also find Orchard Toys on Facebook and Twitter, and you can also browse around their boards on Pinterest.

What do you think of this mini game? Do you have any other games from Orchard Toys? Would you consider buying this set or perhaps one of the mini games for your kids?

*Disclaimer: I was sent the Crocodile Snap mini game from Orchard Toys in exchange for an honest review. All the opinions are my own.

Thanks for stopping by,

Love you all ❤️

✨First Week in Torrevieja✨ ☀️🏖️.Our ✨First Week in Torrevieja✨ ☀️🏖️.Our first week in Torrevieja was a mix of unexpected moments and relaxation. Sienna’s 9th birthday took an unexpected turn when she cut her thumb, and we spent some time in the ER getting a single stitch. 😢 But she’s a trooper and handled it like a champ..Despite this, we still managed at the start of that first week to soak up some sun, enjoy the pool, watch beautiful sunsets, and take in the incredible views. Evenings by the pool became our thing, creating lasting memories and a sense of calm. It wasn’t the week we had planned, but it turned out to be a week of quality family time and unwinding. ☀️🏖️.Swipe left to see our first week in pictures, and if you keep checking until the last photo, you can see Sienna’s stitch.
