This is the time of the year when we start thinking about new party dresses as Christmas is approaching. Whether its for your work Christmas Party or gatherings with friends, there is always an opportunity to dress up at this time of the year. Personally I have some great events coming up as I have been invited to go to Paris to an International Blogging Conference which I’m so excited about! I know that I’ll need a few party dresses for this occasion so when House of Fraser asked me to review a Party Dress from their extended party dresses collection it couldn’t have come at a better moment!
House of Fraser have a fantastic selection of dresses and at first I didn’t know which to choose as I like a few of their dresses. Whilst browsing, I came across Jessica Wright’s exclusive collection for House of Fraser. She has lots of different models and for different occasions.
While I was looking through her collection, I was very impressed and wanted to choose something that I could wear for different occasions, not just for a one-off event. Having recently met her at a private event, I was really keen to try these dresses. She is stunning and has a beautiful figure.
I’m showing you a super close shot where you can see my tummy but if you actually look at it from afar the design is very flattering! It hides very well the extra kilos in my tummy! 😉
All the dresses have a great shape and they look flattering. If you have met me in person or have seen me in our photos or videos, you will have seen that I have a typical latin body shape with lots of curves. Yes, I have lots of curves and even though I have all my life struggled with my very high maintenance shape, nowadays I feel proud of what I have. I don’t worry anymore if I have a few kilos more than what I should have because this is the result of motherhood and I can’t complain about it. I feel proud of what I have and I like what I see. Obviously, I could do with fewer kilos (I’m sure my mum might be thinking that while reading this post, LOL) but I would like that because I should be healthier and keeping fit and need to keep these as a goal.
Returning to the dresses, it’s for this reason I thought the Jessica Wright range could be the perfect fit for me as they look to fit a curvy shape like mine perfectly well. I chose the JW Cap Sleeve Asymmetric Detail Bodycon Dress in Forest Green. I am a fan of green and it’s actually one of my favourite colours after black and red. I think it brightens up my green eyes which seems to work very well.
This dress has a sophisticated and stylish look and comes in 3 different colours: forest green, pink and black. It is perfect to use for work but then you can glam it up with accessories and high heels to use for a dinner party where you will look fantastic. That is the reason why I chose it as it is very wearable and adaptable.
Curves everywhere… but this is real! 😉
The dress has a delicate round neck and capped sleeves for an ultra-feminine look. What I love the most about this dress is that it features a flattering fabric that folds at the waist and fastens up at the back with a concealed zip. It is knee-length too which is always very flattering. The material of this dress is perfect to keep you in fabulous shape. It is 95% POLYESTER, 5% ELASTANE LINING:100% POLYESTER. It is very well designed and made.
As soon as I received the dress, I was really excited to try it on. It looks amazing. It really makes you feel like a million dollar girl. I absolutely love it and the shape is fantastic. I love the detail in the waist area, It hides all the imperfections very well, LOL!
I’m very pleased and so happy with this dress that I now want to choose and try on another one from Jess Wright’s collection, or browse other brands from House of Fraser’s party dresses. The dress I chose has an RRP of £60.00 which I think it is very reasonable considering how good you will look after trying it!

This is a great colour. It looks fab. I reckon you could dress dress UP and DOWN if you wanted – so many options. I know I’d wear it with my leather biker jacket when out and about during the day. For glam evenings, I’d wear my sequinned jacket with it or just some big statement jewellery. Have fun at your Christmas gatherings in the new Jessica Wright dress! You’re right, its a great price. One question – is it machine washable?
