I guess you all might be wondering what exactly Playbrush is and how does it work. So, Playbrush is an interactive smart toothbrush that turns a boring routine into an exciting adventure which connects via Bluetooth to smartphones & tablets using a Playbrush App, so children can play fun games with their own brushing movements. It is intended for kids between 3 and 12 years.
This way, children are incentivised to brush for long enough so all of their teeth are thoroughly cleaned. Also, you receive statistics and feedback after every brush.

SIENNA USING PLAYBRUSH SMART
We gave Sienna the Playbrush smart. We got it in Pink but they also have available in blue and red. It comes with a child’s manual toothbrush which is very handy but it can be used with a standard manual toothbrush too. You won’t be able to use it with an electric toothbrush or with toothbrushes that are too thick at the bottom so bear this in mind.
Sienna was super excited to try it out. I created an account (a parent account) and then I added both girls details. You can add as many kids as you want. This is perfect for big families. I charged the device for a few minutes. It blinks in red for a little bit. After a few minutes, you can unplug it and it will show a green light.
Then you need to attach it to the toothbrush provided. I downloaded the app and connected it to my mobile phone. It works via Bluetooth. It has 4 free games but we were given the option to try the premium subscription so we got 6 games for kids 3 years old and another 6 games for kids older than 6 years old.
It is very simple to use. We paired the tablet with Sienna’s Playbrush and she chose the Sketching Shapes game to play. Sienna was concentrated whilst playing. Playbrush translates every tooth brushing movement into gameplay, so Sienna was actively controlling the game as she brushed her teeth.
She was so excited while playing the game. After a few minutes, the game finished and we got a report of her progress as well as a rewarded section. I liked that I was able to see what she was doing. She didn’t score a big number but she did very well considering it was her first time. I really like seeing what she was doing wrong or right, so then I can help her to improve that.

BELLA USING PLAYBRUSH SMART SONIC
The toothbrush was actually charged when we powered it on. This was very handy. We followed all the instructions and paired it to her iPad with the Playbrush Smart Sonic. She played a dance game initially, which she was very good at. She then tried the shooting game (Uthopia). She liked both games but enjoyed the dance game more.
I always need to remind the girls to brush their teeth and sometimes have to push them into the bathroom! However, since using Playbrush, they don’t hesitate at all when I ask them to brush their teeth! I was so impressed that they are now brushing their teeth thoroughly every day.
PLAYING AGAINST EACH OTHER
They also found out that they can compete against each other so they did a dance competition. They had so much fun! They both scored well too!

OUR THOUGHTS
We are super impressed with both Playbrush products. I wasn’t sure if they would work with my girls but I can confirm that since we got them, my girls are always ready to brush their teeth and most importantly, are brushing them thoroughly (brush for 2 minutes twice a day and brush all the way around their mouth). They even want to brush them again when they are done so they can keep playing. My eldest daughter said she now wants to brush her teeth all the time! Bless her!
It is very easy to use and it encourages my girls to brush their teeth longer and often. The detailed report is great. I now know how both my girls are brushing their teeth and what they are missing so we can improve that. I am very surprised as it literally doesn’t need much charging which is very handy. It ends the daily bathroom tantrumsOne thing is that the devices need to be charged outside of the bathroom. Maybe they can improve this and get a plug that uses the 2 pin shaver socket standard.
I love that the Playbrush Smart comes with a tablet/iPhone holder. I am glad I got it because I have both types of devices but if you get only the Playbrush Smart Sonic you won’t get the holder in the pack. I hope they include it in the future. Although the tablet/phone holder is great, it won’t be possible to fit an iPad when it is in a landscape position so perhaps they could make it a little bigger to adjust this issue. Other than that we ABSOLUTELY love Playbrush and we can highly recommend you get one for your kids. Brushing teeth will be a completely different experience for your kids!
What do you think of Playbrush? Will you get one for your little ones?
*Disclosure: This is a Sponsored Post with Playbrush. We received a Playbrush set for the purpose of this review. However, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
Thanks for stopping by,
Love you all ❤️

I can see Playbrush being really useful for younger kids. I think mine might be a bit old and I’ve just moved them over to bamboo brushes for environmental reasons. As I say though, i can see Playbrush being really good for young kids still earning about brushing their teeth.

My eldest is 8 years old and she loves it! The target for this product is kids between 3 and 12 years old. So big kids are also included. They have different games depending on age. So they will entertain older kids more. The idea is not just to learn how to brush their teeth but to do it for a longer time and throughout. Also the app tells me if they are missing any part of their brushing or if they are doing something wrong which I think is very helpful.

I think this would be great!! I struggle with this every day. I still brush my 5-year-olds teeth first and then let him do it a second time for practice. I love this. I am going to look into getting this, or something like it. Thanks for sharing! #KCACOLS

We love it! 🙂 x

Anything that encourages little ones to brush properly has got to be a winner, hasn’t it? Though I’m not sure I can see it making much difference with older children because I think they would already be cleaning for long enough etc. Maybe I’m wrong! Thanks for hosting #kcacols
amomentwithfranca says
Not really! They still do it quick and without much attention. But that is my opinion though! I guess each kid is different. The target for this is up to 12 years old which is a good age to make sure they know for sure what they are doing but as I said each kid is different. 🙂 x
Rachel - Kids, Cuddles and Muddy Puddles says
These look AMAZING! And really reasonably priced I think too! Shame the case is a little small but the rest of the set up sounds ace! Both my kids would love these, especially the competitive angle! It’s a pity Santa has finished his shopping as these would have made great stocking fillers! #KCACOLS
amomentwithfranca says
Ah what a shame! Yes definitely great for stocking fillers! 🙂 xx

I think this is a great idea to encourage children to brush their teeth properly! #KCACOLS

I plan on getting Lucas a decent toothbrush ain the New Year because we’ve been buy-in those battery electric toothbrushes but they run out so quickly. The sonic sounds like it would be brilliant for Lucas who gets bored with brushing and doesn’t brush for long enough. I’ll definitely look into it #KCACOLS
amomentwithfranca says
He will love the games! 🙂 x
Malin - Sensational Learning with Penguin says
I saw this on Dragon’s Den not that long ago, I think? It seems like a good idea, and I’d quite like to try it with our boy who doesn’t like toothbrushing much… Great to see that your girls are enjoying it! X #KCACOLS
amomentwithfranca says
Yes they were at Dragon’s Den. It is a great idea! Hope he likes it too 🙂 x
Mummy and the Mexicans (Ruth) says
This is absolutely ingenious! It would be ideal for Emma (nearly 5) as she’s not very thorough when it comes to brushing her teeth by herself and I usually have to help her. I wonder if this is available in Mexico! #kcacols
amomentwithfranca says
I am not sure if it is available in Mexico yet. But I guess it might be if it keeps having good feedback! 🙂 xx

Oral care is so important! I love the idea of making brushing teeth more fun!
amomentwithfranca says
Yes this brush is so much fun. They really like playing different games or play agains each other too lol x
Chloe says
Wow this would be great for my kids, especially my daughter. They’re both good about brushing their teeth but I always catch my daughter just brushing back and forth in the same motion and have to remind her to actually turn the brush around and get all the sides of her teeth.
