Poki: Online Games Review

amomentwithfranca · 15 November 2016 · 184 Comments

Poki: Online Games Review – I’m sure you will agree that keeping kids entertained while you are traveling can be hard. We have travelled with the girls on a few long journeys (flying to Peru for example), on some fairly long train journeys like the one we did to Durham which took 3 hours, or more regularly car journeys visiting the in-laws which usually takes around 2 hours. On all these occasions we have prepared ourselves for the different types of journey. This can be very difficult although the thing that has consistently worked extremely well has been giving the girls a tablet where they can watch videos or play some games.

Tablets can also be very handy when you are in restaurants and waiting for food, or if its a rainy day and you need to stay inside and they are not in the mood for playing with any of their toys or games. Having a tablet with good and varied games can really be a lifesaver in these moments!

Poki Online Games

We have recently been trying Poki games on Bella’s iPad and the games have been super fun. Poki.com is a personalised discovery platform for free online games. Yes, you are reading that correctly – these are free games! How fantastic is that? You can play more than 20,000 games for free! They offer the best free games that are playable on all devices, so you can play on your computer, smartphone, or tablet. Depending on what device you are playing on you can use your keyboard, mouse, or touch screen to control puzzles, heroes, and racecars.

They will also hand-pick new games for you daily. This is very handy as it means there are always new games to try every day based on what games you like. Bella’s taste is quite varied as she loves fashion games like dressing up dolls as well as games involving trains and plains. She likes a little bit of everything which I love a lot about her!

She has been trying some Frozen games as well as some educational games, such as one which was about maths. We also liked one where you can test your geography knowledge. We liked these ones a lot which is great as I really want Bella to grow her knowledge about the different countries and continents of the world and where they are, especially because I was born in Peru so for me its crucial that she understands where Peru and other countries in South America are located. These games are both fun and educational which is great!

Other games that Bella enjoyed playing were PetPop Party and Flappy Bird. I tried playing the last one with her too, which I found very hard to do even though it looks so easy! I think Bella was much better than me, LOL! It is amazing how our kids can be so good at these things now!

They offer you some great online games which cover popular categories, like cooking games, football games, and dress-up games, as well as games based on your favorite movies or TV shows, such as Finding Dory. You can also find classic titles, including Mahjong, Bubble Shooter, and Bejeweled, as well as new games, such as Slither.io, Color Switch, and Pixel Warfare 5. Bella has been playing slither.io which she thought was cool. You can play games in 3D, super-fun arcade games, and all of the popular puzzle games! Isn’t it great?

What I liked about Poki games, is that it is a portal for the whole family, so we can all play games and have fun together!

What do you think of Poki? Have you heard of them before? Do you like the idea of having a diversity of games available for free? Please leave a comment below as I would love to hear what you think.

*Disclaimer: We were testing lots of games from Poki for the purpose of this review but all opinions and thoughts are my own.

Thanks for stopping by,

Love you all ❤️

Not come across them before and it sounds great but am I right in thinking they are online only, as that makes them unsuitable for travelling, and would limit the benefit

Never heard of Poki but I have since looked into them on reading your review! I love the fact that the games are free and there is such a wide variety and better still that they are playable through the portal on any platform… Thats amazing, it always infuriates me when I have to pay £3.99 for this game.. £5.99 for the other game … and so on !!
