Last year my girls were introduced to tonies®. They have had so much fun with them. I honestly think it is a great way for kids to show off their creativity as well as being able to have fun and learn something too. This year I was excited to be invited to a press event to introduce some new characters.
AD: I was invited to a press breakfast organised by tonies® as well as given a Toniebox to use at home. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I was compensated for my time.
Co-founder Marcus Stahl hosted a lovely breakfast in which he shared with us details of a new partnership for tonies®. I am pleased to introduce tonies® new partnership with Disney and the new characters to the Tonies collection, Baloo from the Jungle Book and Simba from the Lion King. How cool is that!
What are tonies®?
If you haven’t heard of tonies® before, let me share with you what exactly it is. It is a way for kids to listen and create their own audio through a small, child-friendly device – the Toniebox. The box is activated by the ‘Tonies’ characters that you place on top of the box. When you put a Tonie on the box, it will automatically play stories or songs relating to that character. Pretty cool right!
You can also record your own audio too and my Bella spend a long time recording her own stories when we first got ours! In fact, it is so easy to use, Sienna figured it out before I did!
The whole system is easy and safe to use for kids, with no sharp corners and the whole Tonie box being pretty soft. You control the volume using the little ears on the top of the box!
Currently, there are 45 different Tonies characters available in the UK and Ireland with this being set to grow to around 60. Current familiar characters included are; The Gruffalo, Stick Man, Little Red Riding Hood and The Snowman, whilst Creative-Tonies allow users to upload up to 90 minutes of their own audio content.
The tonies® X Disney Partnership
It is so exciting that tonies® can now bring to life some of our favourite Disney characters, especially with the recent release of Disney’s The Lion King. Simba is a good choice I think – who doesn’t love The Lion King! Both of these characters were released on the 15th August 2019 so are already available to buy!
Both Disney Tonies play the songs we all know and love from the movies along with the stories too. The Simba Tonie runs for around 30 minutes and Baloo for 24 minutes.
AR Feature – Augmented Reality
If you don’t have a Toniebox and want to find out more or even view the new characters, then you need to head over to the Tonies Facebook page. tonies® have implemented latest AR technology to their Facebook page to be able to bring to life Simba via the Facebook mobile app.
All you need to do is activate the AR feature and Simba will appear on your screen bringing you a preview of what you can find on the Toniebox. This is such a fun feature don’t you think? You don’t need to buy anything, it works even if you don’t have a Toniebox!
Click here to be taken straight to the Augmented Reality feature to get started. It is easy to use and so much fun. Bella loved trying it out!
We Love Tonies!
These make a great alternative to screens and are a great way to introduce your child to reading and creating their own magical stories – they control who they listen to by placing the Tonie character of their choice on top of the Toniebox. I really recommend them for bedtime stories or simply for encouraging your child to learn in a fun way.
If you want to see more of how they work I have some posts on my Instagram showing my girls using their Toniebox. Also, check this Facebook Post where there is a video of Bella using the Augmented Reality Feature.
You can purchase from selected retailers and bookshops or direct from the Tonies website. Toniebox RRP £69.95, Tonies RRP £14.99, Creative-Tonies RRP £11.99.
Do your kids love creating their own stories?
*Disclosure: I was invited to a press breakfast organised by tonies® as well as given a Toniebox to use at home. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I was compensated for my time.
Thanks for stopping by,
Love you all ❤️

She will enjoy it I think because you just put the story for her to listen so it will be fine for her age 🙂

I have never heard of them but they look absolutely lovely. Interactive toys are always great fun. My daughter is 5 so I’m thinking she might need another year before she would get the full benefit from it and be able to appreicate it properly. Lovely idea and a good one to keep in mind for my niece! #KCACOLS

How great are these? I have never heard of them, but that is probably because my daughter is a bit too young at the moment. I loved Baloo and the Jungle Book when I was growing up 🙂 #KCACOLS
