There are so many changes happening this year. Many of the things we all love to do as families have been changed or stopped due to the restrictions because of COVID. One holiday that will no doubt have changes to how we all celebrate is Halloween.
There is nothing saying you can’t celebrate Halloween, but we all need to change how we celebrate this spooky holiday don’t we! One great way of celebrating Halloween is to get dressed up at home, have a spooky-themed picnic or buffet and watch some scary movies. Well, family-friendly scary movies!
Not all Halloween films are aimed at adults and there are so many Halloween and ‘scary’ themed movies that are suitable for the whole family. I have put together a list of my top 5 Halloween family films that the whole family can watch together on the 31st October this year and every year!
Our Top 5 Halloween Family Films
Hocus Pocus
Hocus Pocus is nearly 30 years old now but it is still so much fun to watch. The Sanderson Sisters aren’t so much scary as funny as they come back from the dead to exact their revenge. A great family Halloween movie for everyone to enjoy!
Halloween Island
An animated movie about three friends who face an ancient curse is bound to be a hit with the whole family. A cute watch for even the smallest Halloween fans!
Casper
Another 90s classic family Halloween movie. We all know the story behind Casper the Friendly Ghost. And this movie pays tribute to the cutest ghost there ever was!
The Little Vampire
There is no blood being sucked in this family-friendly vampire movie. Bringing the story of The Little Vampire to the big screen, Rudolph the little vampire boy befriends Tony who helps him break the curse of being a vampire!
Happy Halloween, Scooby-Doo
Watch as Scooby-Doo and pals join forces to save Crystal Cove in this fun movie that all Scooby-Doo fans will love!
Do your kids like scary movies? What Halloween films for children will you be watching with them this year? I would love to know what your top 5 Halloween family films are!
