3 Steps To Planning The Perfect Corporate Event

amomentwithfranca · 29 June 2016 · 9 Comments

Hola chicos, regular readers may know I have been trying to build a community of bloggers around my KCACOLS Linky. It’s a great little community and my hope is to be able to setup some events in different regions to meet up with people who are party of the linky group so we can all get to know each other better. In anticipation of this I’ve been researching about event planning. Most of the information out there regarding this, relates to corporate event planning. Whilst you might not describe us bloggers as corporate as such, us bloggers are quite professional these days, and for me at least, its a fulltime job.

3 Steps To Planning The Perfect Corporate Event

When it comes to planning a corporate event, it can be difficult to know where to start. If you’re keen to make your upcoming occasion one to remember, here are three simple steps you can follow to get you on the right track.

1. Choose your entertainment

To make your event a memorable one, having some sort of entertainment is key. From a live band, to a comedian, to a motivational speaker, there are a whole host of ways you can keep your guests amused and engaged. However, if you’re keen to make your event really stand out from the crowd, you could try thinking outside the box. For example, you could host a murder mystery dinner. Specialist companies, such as Murder Mystery Collective, provide trained actors who put on a dramatic yet highly amusing performance whereby your guests have a role in solving a murder. A fully interactive experience, entertainment like this is guaranteed to keep your guests interested and involved.

2. Pick a suitable venue

Picking your venue is an extremely important part of the event planning process. Ideally, your location should be just the right size to comfortably hold the number of people you’re going to invite. It’s also crucial that you take into consideration practical issue such as location and parking facilities, and think about whether the event is to be held solely indoors or if you need access to outside too. Before you book your venue, it pays to visit the location yourself. This way you can get a better feel for the place and decide whether it’s a suitable setting for your upcoming event.

3. Arrange your catering

Whether you plan on treating your guests to a three course meal or a selection of snacks and canapes, it’s essential that you give some careful thought to the food you will supply at your event. Unless you’re willing to take on this task yourself, it’s a good idea to hire an external catering company to take care of this for you. When you’re putting together your menu, make sure you select a variety of different foods, and be mindful of people’s dietary requirements. For example, make sure you cater for any vegetarians and those who are gluten intolerant. As long as there is something delicious for each guest to snack on, you shouldn’t go too far wrong.

While putting on the perfect corporate event may seem tricky, taking these tips into consideration could help.

Have you organised a corporate/professional event before? What do you think of these tips? Do you have any tips you could recommend? Please leave a comment as I would love to read your thoughts.

You have some great tips for throwing a corporate party! I agree that choosing the right catering company is pretty important. I am not much of a cook, and I don’t like cooking, so I think hiring an external company is the best choice.
