A year ago I had the amazing opportunity to meet Jo Frost in person. As you probably know she is well known as TV’s Supernanny. Meeting her was one of my biggest highlights since starting my blog. It was a very intimate blogger meet up to talk about the #BathBookBed campaign organised by BookTrust. It was amazing as I got to talk about Bella’s routine which was concerning me at the time and Jo was very lovely! She is back again this year as an ambassador for this wonderful campaign.
#BathBookBed with Jo Frost & Peppa Pig
This year I was asked to be part of the #BathBookBed campaign again. I was, of course, happy to support it as I think that the campaign is fantastic. The advice and tips that Jo offers as an expert on the matter can help many families with their bedtime routine at home!
This time we also see Peppa Pig collaborating with the Book Trust for the Bath, Book, Bed campaign. Now in its second year, the Book Trust’s campaign encourages a love of stories and reading from a very young age which is really important. It’s proven to help children do well in school and opens up a whole world of imagination.
Research has shown that bedtime routines are associated with improved sleep in young children. Benefits include earlier bedtimes, a shorter amount of time in bed before falling asleep, fewer night-wakings and longer periods of sleep. And regular language-based bedtime routines such as singing, reading, or storytelling are associated with children’s increased sleep periods and improved cognitive skills, which the brain uses to think, read, learn, remember, reason, and pay attention.
In order to help us with our Bath, Book and Bed routine, we have been sent a lovely Peppa Pig bundle. We are huge fans of Peppa Pig and are part of the Official Peppa Pig Blogger program. As part of this, last year we received a summer bundle and a winter bundle which my girls love! This time, we received another huge bundle which is part of their Bath, Book and Bed range. We have been using all the products to help us with our routine since we received them and they have been perfect.
Last year I was having problems with Bella waking up in the night, so I tried to implement the bath, book, bed routine with her. I am not going to lie, this wasn’t easy and it didn’t happen in 3 days but with some perseverance, it slowly worked and Bella is now happy to sleep in her bedroom all night.
But now our problem is Sienna. She is now the one that wakes up in the nights and only wants to be with me. We know that the Bath, Book and Bed routine works so we are using it with Sienna too. She still sometimes wakes up in the night and needs to be put back. She will be 3 in August, so I have made it a goal for this year to master this routine with her.
At the moment our bedtime routine is like this:
TIDY UP TIME
Before we start our routine, I like to tidy up all the mess the girls have made since getting back from school and nursery. It is amazing how in such a short amount of time it can look like a storm has passed, LOL! It is so untidy.
One of the things we received was a really nice Peppa Pig toy box. I never knew they made such a thing but it has been the most useful and practical toy box ever. We had lots of toys that didn’t have a proper home so we have organised Sienna’s toys in it and it all looks super nice and tidy. Yay!
BATH TIME
Bath time is a moment that both my girls love! Bella is getting older and I have started doing their baths separately. When they are together they can get very over-excited and the whole bathroom can end up completely wet! When I do Sienna’s bath on her own she has been great! She enjoys it even more and it is a nice moment for both of us.
We got some lovely products from the Peppa Pig Bath, Book and Bed range to use during bath time which has been a lot of fun to use for Sienna. She is a little fish so she will go under the water and swim along the bath. It surprises me how good can she be at only 2 years old. Bella was never like that!
Sienna loves bubbles in her bath. This is actually something that I have to do mostly when I have Sienna on her own as Bella suffers from eczema. But Sienna is fine so when she is on her own, she really enjoys it! We got a Peppa Pig Bubble Bath which was great to use.
Another thing that she loves is to make her own bubbles so with the help of Peppa Pig Foam Bath Bubble Blower she has so much fun! OMG, she was so happy playing with these bubbles! I think it is a great idea to use them at bath time.
Another fun product we used was a Projector that also had a Bath and Shower gel. I have never seen something like this before. It is definitely unique! Sienna loved the idea of seeing all the Peppa Pig images being projected onto the bathroom walls. She laughed so much! Bless her!
She can be in the bath for a long time, maybe about 20 minutes, but usually until her hands start to go wrinkly LOL. After the bath, she gets dry with her warm and soft Cuddledry towel. Then she gets changed into her pyjamas before going to the bathroom to brushes her teeth. We were sent a fab Peppa Pig flashing toothbrush and a Peppa Pig Toothpaste.
We have never seen a flashing toothbrush before so were all very impressed. Of course my girls and especially Sienna love it. She thinks it is very cool. It also has a suction cup at the bottom so she can stick it to the bathroom wall. It is fun!
BOOK TIME
This is the time that we really try to wind her down. She gets very hyper again after the bath. Who knows why you would expect her to be very tired! I think she must be a one off, LOL! She loves playing with her sister at this moment so I always have to grab her and move away from her and calm her down with a book.
She loves when you read for her. She has lots of books. We received a cool Peppa Pig bookcase where she has now put most of her favourite books. This bookcase is really cute and she uses it a lot. She likes sitting next to it and pick her books. We have put it in the living room where most of her books are.
She normally chooses about 3 books for us to read to her. She loves reading Peppa Pig. She has a really nice collection of Peppa Pig books. We also received 2 more to add to her collection. We got a Good Night Peppa which is perfect for this routine and also Peppa’s London Day Out activity book.
Sienna gets more relaxed after the books but she is not always ready to go to bed. So we sing some bedtime nursery rhymes if needed. This sometimes helps.
BED TIME
As I mentioned before, this is the most difficult time. Sometimes after the books, she is tired and falls asleep but sometimes we are not that lucky and she goes to sleep after some nursery rhymes.
We got also some lovely Peppa Pig bedding products. Honestly, their bedding range is really cute. I was impressed. This one is by far my favourite. We got a cute Peppa Pig single duvet which fitted perfectly on her bed. I like the colours and the design.
We also received a Peppa Pig cushion and a Peppa Pig blanket which match perfectly with the duvet cover. The cushion is very soft which is really nice for our little ones to put their heads. And the blanket is fantastic too. We have been using it a lot. Sienna loves it!
They also sent an inflatable night light 3 in 1 which is perfect as a sleep trainer. For daytime play, Peppa wobbles bops and bounces back, with lights, sounds and phrases. At bedtime, Peppa glows with a warm reassuring light for 10 minutes. Good night. Sleep tight! Teaching ‘wake-up’ time, before bed set the time that you want to train your child to wake up at. If you give Peppa a tap and if it’s still night time she shows the time and a moon on her tummy. After the set ‘Wake-up’ time the moon changes to a sun hooray it’s time to wake up and play again.
One of the things we also use with both of my girls is white noise. We use an app for that where you can choose lots of different noises. This has been really good and worked with both my girls.
This is our routine. As you can see it is not perfect but do our best to keep supporting and implementing this routine because we know it is the best one for our girls.

Aw sienna looks so sweet with all of her Peppa bits! We do Baths every other day and then get dry and bed, we don’t read books every night because sometimes Mummy just really needs to chill out after the stroppy grizzly evening phase! They both go to bed really well though so until they change I’m happy to read on occasion and more if they ask 🙂 #KCACOLS
I’m a big advocate of routine at bedtime, my daughter is 5 and we’ve pretty much always done bath, book and bed. She has never fallen asleep during a story but I think it really helps them to wind down in order to get to sleep and best of all it can sometime be the only bit of quality time you get with your child in a busy hectic day.

My youngest would have loved all this Peppa Pig toys and accessories – he LOVES Peppa Pig at the moment. A lot more than his brothers ever did! Thank you for having me to co-host with you, Tracey and Kate! It’s been great! #KCACOLS
I think this is a great campaign. I think anything that gets children into books younger is great x
